Ok, I'm going to try to do an update.....hopefully I can remember what's gone on in the past two or three months. Work has been super crazy, which, combined with the stress of getting everything done for the wedding, has been pretty rough. I've been taking Airborne like candy just to make sure I don't get sick before the wedding.
So, in my last post I was talking about a dress I bought for the rehearsal dinner, which turned out to be a little snug. So, I got something different. I found this dress on the David's Bridal site. It was on sale for $59.99 in certain colors. The color was much different in person than I thought, but it's turning out to be alright. I found a pair of flats and paired it with a sparkly cardigan I already had. I bought the flats in nude and gray because I'm not sure which I like better (we had this debate on FB already). Most likely I'll decide on the day of the dinner. Here's a photo of the shoes and then me in the dress with the cardigan and nude shoes (the photo with the gray shoes is terrible so I won't be posting that one. LOL):
I had the dress shortened and taken in a little because it kept falling down.
Also in the last update, I spoke about my first dress fitting....well, I've now had my final fitting. I did end up getting a little jacket, but it's more to cover my back than for my arms. I wish I had enough time to get the sleeves altered because I don't like the way the slit hangs open. Also, my bridesmaid gave me my "something borrowed". It's a crown brooch! I love it! Here are some photos so you can see:
The ribbon hanging from my hand is actually my bracelet. I need to cut the tails before I go. Here is a close up of the brooch...I added it to the belt:
We *finally* found something for my mom to wear! I'm super happy! She's going to look beautiful! This is more a photo of the top, she'll be wearing this with some nice pants.
I got all the girls' stuff now! I know I'm going to forget something, but we got in Marlene's hoodie and hanger, I bought them flats to wear during the dessert party (and reception), a mini-emergency kit, boutonniere pins for the guys with photos of our grandparents who have passed that we are honoring, our sand ceremony vessel, I had work and personal bridal showers, WE GOT MAGICBANDS!!!, I bought multi-color popcorn for the welcome bags...have I mentioned we bought stuff to go in those? We got tissue, collapsable vases so the guests can take the flowers, lint rollers, the popcorn, water....hmm, I know we were thinking about getting some other snacks, gum, park maps, "We're Celebrating" buttons, hand sanitizer, I can't remember the other stuff right now. Well, here's a photo of the popcorn...it's so pretty!
We also bought glow bracelets and necklaces (I feel like I've said this before lol) for the dessert party and I ended up getting the spectro glasses for the fireworks.
When I got my bridesmaid's hoodie, I also ordered some vines with flowers to go where the dropped MOH's name was on the original hoodie and the saying "I got married at Walt Disney World now I'm broke....and it was worth every penny!". Inside the box, Lisa included a sweet note and four crystal Mickey heads. I decided to place them like a "hidden Mickey" and put them in the back, center part where the hood is sewn onto the body. When the hood is down, it's hidden, when you put the hood on, it's visible.
There was a little drama about the rehearsal dinner, but we got that all taken care of. Have I mentioned lately that Jamie and Jessica are THE. BEST. Well, they are!
We booked our portrait session for December 10 and we'll be taking photos in MK and HS. I'm really excited.
I've ordered table names, escort cards and programs through Impressions.
I can't think of anything else, but I'll try to get on and post again before we leave for Disney. We're leaving next Thursday (Thanksgiving day...only 8 more days, eeeee!!), but after I get off work in about 7 minutes, I'll officially be on vacation!! Three full weeks!!!
