Just got to ask ..When you say favorite character that leaves a lot of choice. Do you mean Mickey and the gang or can it range up to Jack Sparrow?

For me at least...Any character (and I guess...even if it isn't Disney... ). Jack is great, Avengers, anything.

I don't have pierced ears. Never got them pierced as a child and am too scared as an adult.

Don't blame you...it does hurt (although temporary)!

Gift distribution: I don't really want to schedule a delivery of gifts. Things come up and this should be fun and not a chore.
I do ask you all though that you some of you might consider handing out your FE gift lateron in the cruise. We give two "gift packets" one at the very beginning and one towards the end.

I missed the fact that you were doing both lists. I am VERY sorry and have corrected list B as well. Thank you for reminding me!

There will be THREE lists.

List one for those of us who do both lists! (Indans123, gosshaus, Dizneeat, aprilchem, Ydrj, linkandclover, Keever, cakiesmom, jprod30, 1stdiscruise)

List A includes all of us who do both lists and the ones who will only do one list and stay decks 12 - 8!

List B includes all of us who do both lists and the ones who will only do one list and stay decks 7 - 2!


Please check if all the info is correct and let me know if I messed something up.

I agree about the possible overflowing of FE's with gifts but don't think we will have a problem with our FE, we got so engrossed with making them that we didn't even think about the size My husband even asked what on earth were we expecting from the FE exchange TV's and laptops

Anyway we will give ours on 1st full day at sea and 2nd smaller something for the children on the pirates evening afternoon, if that makes sense.

I have seen a 'conversation' about FE exchange dates that got quite heated after a lady said her small child was quite disappointed when there wasn't a goodie to collect on some days. I can see that could happen if your child is young and someone did suggest that you could always take an extra FE for your own child, which I thought was quite useful.

Must stress though not my comments and as mentioned the discussion got very heated/rude!

I do agree that everyone does it at their own leisurely pace

But being a slightly neurotic OCD mother who itineraries & lists everything we 'have a plan'

I just love these boards! There is such a wealth of information here. And we have met some of our best friends here too!

Here in Austria English is taught from the time you start school, which is after kids have reached the age of 6. For the first 4 school years (Volksschule) there is NO written English. They just sing songs, play games and do basic phrases. They have one lesson per week.
Once they change to our school (Hauptschule at age 10) then English is properly taught, with 4 lessons a week. Thanks to the fact that they "know" a little English already, starting out is pretty easy - even though it takes some of the students a while to realize that you NEED to know how to spell things.

School ended on Friday and we are all off for the next 9 weeks. Thank god! The school year has been long enough.

In Germany it's similar to Austria: My first daughter has started with English in the third class with the age of 8, only speaking and singing. My second daughter has started in the first class with the age of 6. After 4 years "Grundschule" she has changed to the "Gymasium". We have 3 types of school after the first 4 years, Hauptschule, Realschule and Gymnasium dependent of her performance. After Gymnasium you can go to the University. In the first year (5th class) they learn Englisch and France and after this first year they can decide between France an Latin.

Now is my first daugher in class 8 and can understand English and can talk to someone.

Now we have 1 1/2 week until school ends. Then we have 6 weeks no school.

Hello!,

We are so glad you are joining us for the meeting Michaela and family!!. My husband Rob is fluent in German and my kids speak just a bit so maybe they can practice their German as well. I keep asking my husband to find and assignment in Germany or Austria for a few years. Rob DS turns 13 on the trip but will definitely be in the Edge so it will be nice to have him meet some folks before he goes.

Oh that's nice, so we can train each other

Luca (13, nearly 14) will be also in the Edge, but I don't know, if it's possible that my second daughter can also go in the Edge, she's 10...
