ANZACs in November/December 2013... register here!

No - haven't even started - I'm feeling bad for it lol!

Last time we went, I hadn't found this board till closer to the time and had no idea about ADRs - had to make everything with a few months to spare. Luckily, lots opened up at around 6 weeks prior. I don't want to be doing that this time though lol!

Must update the first page, nice to see some more travellers. A few crossed paths! :)

When can I book for ADR if we will be there 30/11-6/12? What should we do?

180 days from your arrival date which is around the end of May or early June for you.

If you are staying at a Disney resort at the 180 days you can then book the next 10 days of ADR's

Thanks. Not long to go then :)

Franrose, you'll be there when we are :)

Its been a stressful few weeks with work, with buildidgn our home, with co-ordinating payments for the house as well as our trip (plus a few other things!), but I'm happy to be able to say that our flights are booked! Yay! Thanks to a wonderful local TA who made it easy :thumbsup2

So we're leaving Dec 7, will be at WDW -AKL Dec 9-14 and then Old Key West from Dec 14-21. And we've also booked our DL stay at the GCV from Jan 19-23. Woohoo!!! Its such a relief!:cool1:

Now to sort out dining!

Latest update.... we're fully staying in LA! And DD knows.

Two parts... DD kind of expected that we were traveling and the questions were starting to bug me. "I want to know... no wait... I don't.... just tell me we're going to Qld.... no are we going..." etc etc. :goodvibes

So in the end we said "Are you sure you want to know" We got a solid confirmed Yes, so we told her we had tickets but no plans.

Fast forward two weeks later of discussing going to NY, an Orlando do-over, with the Florida keys, perhaps a trip to San Francisco or San Diego and not being able to get any agreements or weather debates, DD not being able to stand the thought of going back to Orlando and had melt down that ended up talking to the psychologist to help her through it (DW was a real bad trip for us and she has a lot of other things going on).... we decided on LA for two weeks.

Here is the plan thus far and highly likely to change...

Saturday... Stay overnight at Loews in Hollywood. I picked up a club room on special for US$200 inc tax last night just as their one day special was ending. It's back up to $350 today!

Sunday.. Get a car, and I'm negotiating and deciding between two properties in the Hollywood Hills in VRBO for the week. I'll make up my mind this week. Stay for a week. DH is the only one that can drive in the USA, I freaked out last time we had the car. And he really needs the rest after the flight. We're not the type that can just get the car at the airport after such a long flight!

Sunday of the 2nd week. Farewell LA and drive all the way to Anaheim...
I must visit Tiki Room as I have never seen it, and I'm planning a trip to Medievil Times one night as I think DD will love it - I did when I was just a bit older than she is now.

Sunday again... Fly home.

Monday doesn't exist.

Tuesday unpack and wash.

Wednesday... start planning next trip. :rotfl:

I a unofficially joining this thread! We are looking at going Nov/Dec again this year, just have not been able to book dates yet as need to wait on my partner. Last years trip was perfect getting to experience Halloween and Christmas celebrations we want to do something similar, and baby girl will be just over 2yrs old so will have different experiences again. Killing me not having set dates yet though. Keep seeing Disney stuff on facebook, here, the official website and yesterday we rewatched the planning dvd.

Just booked our ADRs. It took ages as I kept getting error messages but in the end all good.

Still haven't booked our flights to LA. DH says wait a little longer but I'm very tempted to get it all finished.

Ta Kylie, will add! :D

Oh, I need to hurry up, sit down and book ADRs! And just get my head around our plans in general. I got an email from my DUTA saying "would you like me to book some ADRs" - I sent back one letting her know I'm a micro-managing PITA who makes constant changes so thanks but no thanks, I'd drive her nuts :lmao:

Haven't booked LAX-MCO or NYC-LAX either, am stalking daily. Prices atm are a LOT more than 2011 so I am hoping for some sales! I picked up MCO-LGA a couple of days at $114/pp including bags and was happy enough with that.

Welcome :)

We were at DLR in December '11 and it was all so pretty dressed up for Christmas :) Make sure you watch the fireworks and stand close to the snow machine poles. The 'snow' smells so yummy.

Finally got our last ADR booked today. The first half of our stay is at the Yacht Club so we have focused on Epcot Area Restaurants and the second half is at the Wilderness Lodge so MK area restaurants are the focus.

Day 1 - Fulton's Crab House (D)
Day 2 - San Angel Inn (L) and Teppan Edo (D)
Day 3 - Tusker House (B), Flame Tree BBQ (No ADR but in our plans) and Chefs De France (D)
Day 4 - 50's Prime Time (L) and Brown Derby (D)
Day 5 - Bubba Gump (Going to Universal for the day) and Flying Fish (D)
Day 6 - Biergarten (L) and Le Cellier (D)
Day 7 - Crystal Palace (B) and Citricos (D)
Day 8 - Artist Point (D)
Day 9 - Rainforest Cafe (L) and Jiko (D)
Day 10 - Planet Hollywood (Another day at Universal) and Grand Floridian Private Dining
Day 11 - 1900 Park Fare (B) and Hoop Dee Doo
Day 12 -Be our Guest (D)

We are celebrating our anniversary at WDW so I have arranged a special dinner for DW and 2 DD with the Grand Floridian Dining. It is a 5 course meal with personalised butler service on the 3rd floor Balcony of the Grand Floridian so you can watch the fire works at the MK. :cool1::cool1::cool1:
We have also booked tickets to MVMCP on day 7.

We also have a few nights at DL staying at GC so we have planned the following restaurants:

Day 1 - Tortilla Jo's (D)
Day 2 - Blue Bayou (L) and Steakhouse 55 (D)
Day 3 - ESPN (L) and WOC special at Wine Country Trattoria
Day 4 - Storytellers (B) and Napa Rose (D)

Almost all done. I hope I haven't forgotten anything. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

How are everyone's plans coming along?

I have nearly everything booked/done...

All internal flights - booked and paid for
All accommodation booked, mostly paid for
Some tourist tours booked & paid, still deciding on some
All ADR's booked
MVMCP booked & paid / Candlelight Processional Pkg booked

Just need to:
Book bus ticket from New York to Boston (this isn't available for another couple of weeks)
Finish paying off WDW (was waiting to see if Free Dining came out before finalising payment)

So...this is what I have

MEL - LAX - QANTAS (on FF points - Economy)
LAX - LAS - American Airlines (best flight time, and surprisingly much cheaper than SouthWest:confused3)
LAS - JFK - American Airlines (same reason as above)
Bus to Boston - (Megabus)
BOS - MCO - Delta (non-stop service and better price and SouthWest)
MCO-LAX - American (same again)
LAX - MELB - QANTAS (on FF points - Business)

I was really surprised that SouthWest had such terrible flight times (nearly all with connections) and the prices were more expensive than American & Delta - even by the time I pay for baggage. My last 3 trips I have had really great experiences with SouthWest - but just not this time!!

As for my ADR's:

Rose & Crown - Dinner
Chef's de France - Candlelight Processional Dinner Pkg
Brown Derby - Fantasmic Lunch Pkg
Yachtman's Steakhouse - Dinner
Kouzzina - Dinner
Jiko - Dinner
Crystal Palace - Breakfast

If free dining doesn't come up, I may cancel a couple of these, but thought it best to get them...just in case....

Will November EVER arrive?!?!?

Can't remember specifics but I've booked a lunch at 50s diner and the Candlelight Processional lunch at Via Napoli (no thanks to the dreadful mydisneyexperiencemyleftfoot...) I've booked two nights at the Camlin in Seattle (through our timeshare but may change it to one night, haven't decided yet), organised car hire for Seattle to Anaheim, registered me, DD and DS in the Neverland 5K at DLR and booked a night at a hotel near MCO for the night before we fly to NYC. I've still got so much more to do :surfweb:
