How much is your 2013 WDW vacation going to cost you?

LOL - A lot!

Airfare for 5 - $1,500.
6 Nights at Hard Rock Hotel - $2,100
5 AP's for Universal - $1,400
Four 10 day park hoppers for Disney - $1,300
1 AP adult for WDW - $620
11 nights Beach Club Villas - $4,900
Round trip transfers airport at home - $250
Transfers airport to Universal then to Disney - $250
5 front row seats to Blue Man Group - $350

Total so far = $12,670

Add in food and souveniers for 17 days - I'd say we'll be right around $20,000.

UGH.......I hear you.
Once a few years ago we took an 18 day vacation to WDW/US. 4 days at Universals Royal Pacific CL, and the rest at WDW Deluxe , some CL, some suites. It was about $18,000. when it was all said and done. We still refer to the vacation as "the big one", lol :lmao: .

This time around, we are going for 11 nights. ALL at WDW, all deluxe CL. Unfortunatally, we have been biten by the deluxe and CL bug :lmao:. We only go to WDW once a year, and only take a smaller trips to other places througout the year, so we are able to splurge a little at WDW.
Club level for our family of 5, really pays for itself so we can justify it. We eat all breakfasts in the CL, also snacks, drinks/water, Alc drinks at night for the adults :cool1:, and snacks/desserts at night. Works for us ! :goodvibes
WDW is our "big" vacation every year.
So.........here goes.

11 nights, Split stay - (30% room only special)
5 nights Grand Floridian Sugarloaf CL - $2500.
6 nights Beach Club Deluxe Room CL - $3000.
Plane fare for 5 adults - $1350.
Park Hoppers + WP&M 10 days for 5 - $2000.
Food ......all out of pocket approx - $1500. (we eat all breakfasts, snacks, water bottles, drinks at night and desserts in CL)
Extra's ..... Tips, souveneers, fun stuff (pontoon boat rental, etc) $1000.
Transportation ...... FREE Magical Express Woot! :rotfl2:.
So this year we are looking at approx $11,000.

Now I have this feeling that I wished I hadnt done this , :rotfl::rolleyes::rolleyes1

Seriously though .........we just budget our WDW trips by the amount of days we want to go. It is consistantly $1000. per day for our family of 5 to go to WDW Deluxe Resort CL.

I just booked 2 nights at All Star Movie for July 3-5/2013.... 2 nights and w are doing one park. 1 adult and 2 kids. At $610.

Our cruise for Nov.14/2013 ....3nights for 2 kids and 2 adults was $1,990.

Then we are set to go in Dec.24-jan. 1/2014.... 8 nights for 2adults and 2 kids for 5 day tickets and DP for $4,321

So I posted before, but said I might make some changes as the trip got closer. We are now 27 days out and the total is looking like this:

Airfare for three adults from NY: $854 net (This is after about $300 in credits that we had for delayed flights and lost or damaged luggage were applied.)

Full size rental car for one week from Hertz with free upgrade: 362

Travel insurance $266 (All of our parents are in the 75-85 age range with various illnesses, so I always buy the most comprehensive travel insurance in case of emergency.)

2 nights visiting MIL in Clearwater and staying in one bedroom suite at the Marriott:$448

5 nights in a one bedroom Beach Club Villa: $2106

We already have 6 or 7 days of no expiration park hopper with water park passes.

Dining at Kouzzina, Chefs de France, Brown Derby, Jiko, Narcoosee's and Wolfgang Puck's plus CS lunch every day and breakfast groceries for the room should be about $1100, keeping in mind that I am the only one who drinks at all and I am quite a lightweight.

Souvenirs: $300

Total: $5536

It might go up a bit if we are able to book the Illuminations cruise.

Don't fret...our trip was about 1000.00 per day!

March 4-8, FREE dining, and off season

AOA suite
Free regular dining
Air fare (half price due to having credits)
1000.00 spending money
1 character meal per day
No park hopper, just regular tickets

It was about 5500 all together, 2 adults, 1 preteen and one child.

Taking a trip in November..Adult trip, paying half of the room/ticket price rate.. IF free dining is open to the public, here is how it will look:

Airfare -400.00
3 nights @ the Poly - (my half) 1,050 (free regular dining during these days)
4 nights @ POR royal room - (my half) @850 (no free dining)
spending money- for food the first 4 days and souveniers 1000
park tickets (my half) - 400.00
MVMCP tickets (my half) -65.00
@ 3700.00 .... I am trying to cut back somewhere, my budget is really 3500.

Question... We like a few drinks and dessert at night on vacation. Would CL be a better option for us?

Question... We like a few drinks and dessert at night on vacation. Would CL be a better option for us?

Only you can decide. Price out both options and see what the $$$ difference is. During our stay, its only approx $100. per night for CL vs. a standard room. We have a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teens), so it pays for us to do CL. If it was just 2 people........maybe not so much.
All of our family eats every breakfast in the CL, plus water bottles everyday for the parks. Snacks during the day for the kids, light dinner/snack at dinner time. Alc. beverages for the adults (beer and wine) ........ they are $$$ at WDW so with CL, they are a free bonus. Also desserts every night. Plus the CL staff to help you with planning, and reservations.......and pretty much anything else you need. Plus you get the "gold" KTTW cards :rotfl:.
For our family of 5 its worth it.....but we do take advantage of the CL offerings ........some dont.

Run the numbers, and see if its justified in your case.....

Can you explain the gold kttw?

Can you explain the gold kttw?

kttw = Key to the world, card. Its your room, charging card for (almost) everything in WDW. When you check in your resort they issue you your room (KTTW) card. Normal rooms get blue cards.......if you are staying CL, generally you get a gold colored kttw card.
It means absolutely nothing ..........no extra benefits (well it would get you to the restricted access of the CL lounge / floor) . Its just cool to have the gold card :rotfl2:.

Sept 8th - 13th (5 nights)
3 adults
2 nights AKL standard/ 3 nights POFQ Standard - $840 (Military discount)
4 day MYW+PH - $468
Dining plan - $834
Airfare - will vary since we are coming from different locations

So my share of this cost will be about $1300 w/o allotting my fun money.

I'm also looking into renting DVC points because we could get a studio at at Deluxe for our entire stay and STILL pay less than with the military discount.

Switched from BC (standard view) to POFQ (garden view). Still 5 nights/PH/Water parks and FD for me and 2 DDs who will both be 11: $2202.33.

Super expensive flights BWI to MCO remain $779.40.

Grand total $2,981.73.

BC was $3169.84 plus flights.

I think for a $967.51 savings I can enjoy a moderate!! :)

For that savings... yeah I would go with POFQ. That paid for your flights and some of you food. That's huge.
