Dennis and I are joining the fun. This will be our 9th cruise. We just returned from the EBTA in May and are eagerly anticipating this cruise.

I paid off our cruise this evening. Spent the last hour reviewing the shore excursion and adding my "favorites" to my planning area to be ready to book late on friday night! Also wanna book the palo brunch since I have not gone to it before... Stupid question - do you prebook the mixology & tastings? How do you do it?

Yay for the Friday Countdown... getting there for sure!

We switched to late Dining today. We dined early last time on DCL, and have had early several times on other lines. Thought we would try something different. We have sailed on several other lines/ships with anytime dining, and found that we typically ate closer to the later time than earlier. I guess we will see!

We are just the opposite. We switched to early dining recently because my Aunt who is cruising with us prefers to eat early for medical reasons. Had to be put on the waiting list but the last time I checked my reservation, it showed we had been switched to early dining. On our 2 previous cruises, we dined at the late dining time. Will just need to get used to going to the shows before dinner instead of after.

We did late dining for the first time last cruise (sans children) and found that we liked it better. So we have late dining this trip also. I find that early dining worked great when the kids were little, but now that they are older, we don't have to worry about rushing to be ready for dinner.

Oh and yay on the countdown....we are getting closer for sure!

We prefer late dining as well. Early dining always makes the day feel so rushed. I so dislike coming back from the port and feeling like I've got 45 minutes to get everyone showered and down to dinner.

This compared to Colorado Mickey where they are one family with two separate FE? So two different family gifts? I just want to be sure I get it. Thank you

I did not ask if Colorado Mickey will have 2 FE's. I assumed they will as they are not next door to each other. I counted them as 2 rooms so grandma can get her own gift too. (But I generally give 2 gifts if I know they aren't going to the same house or it's mother/daughter or sisters/cousins) 5166/5168 is one family, so I only listed them once and consider them one room. Does that make sense? (Well I don't know if that even makes sense to me, maybe I should ask them more questions to clarify!!!)

And I am going to throw this out there for anyone interested. We have a tradition of getting up really early on boarding day, and watching the ship come in. Port Canaveral has an excellent viewpoint to watch the ship come up the channel. On our last Disney Cruise, we actually had 6 other people from the cruise group join us that morning, and so any that want to join, are of course welcome.

It is only an option for those that are staying in Port Canaveral or Cocoa Beach the night prior, as it is early, and not an exact science.
We have traditionally arrived around 5:30 am to see our ship come in.
We then usually get breakfast and go back to the hotel to get things together.

There is something magical about watching a ship come in, and know that in a few very short hours you will be onboard!

Here are a couple of pics, one of the Disney Magic come in, and one of a sunrise soon afterward when we went to visit the marina for a different view of the ship....

Wow, that is special! Sadly we are driving in from Orlando that day and coming from the west, that would be difficult for my clan. What a great idea, though. Perhaps something to plan for the next cruise .
