Coming to you Live from Disney World!-Take 2 AUG/SEPT WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Oops, sorry Belle. I forgot to add that I am including both you and pennyplanner (who arrives on July 30th) with the August team since most of your trip will be during the month of August. So look for your PM sometime around the 20th of July. :thumbsup2

No problem. Just being keen and eager to start live reporting! :-)

Just got my PM and am so excited! I will be traveling with my mom and my younger sister. We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter from July 3-July 11. We are on the QS dining plan, with a few ADRs/tables thrown in (ESPN Club, Sanaa, Crystal Palace, Boma, and 50s Prime Time).

In 9 days our live report will begin. It will be just fr the first 2 days then DH will join me for the final days. His b day falls during this trip so that may be exciting

Barb, got your PM for instructions for being a live reporter for July. I marvel at your organizational skills to keep this all going.

We are 95% sure we are still going. Brian(DH) is having some health problems and sees a neurologist week after next so send good thoughts and prayers our way. Nothing too serious we hope. But he doesn't feel the best. At worst we may be flying instead of driving and canceling our week at the beach that was to follow WDW.

It will be me, Brian, Chase(DS), and Brianna(DD). We will be staying at the Beach Club and eating at least one TS a day. Can't wait to try Beaches and Cream, Cape, breakfast at Kouzzina, and Be Our Guest. We've also got plans at some of our old favorites like LTT, Plaza, and the Brown Derby. And we're also heading back to Via Napoli, Chefs De France, and Yak and Yeti.

Can't wait to be a live reporter again!

Hi, Barb! I love reading this thread! Do you need any reporters for September? We'll be there from Sept 7-13. We have ADRs at Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace, 50s Prime Time, Rainforest Cafe, and Boma.

Glad to hear that you are all still on board for July! :thumbsup2

Rachel, I hope all goes well with Brian's appointment with the doctor next week and that he is feeling better soon.

And Howgreat, my policy is that there is always room for one more, so welcome to the September team! Thanks for volunteering! :)

I have just a couple more updates to post tonight for your viewing pleasure, both of them from Tina (AlohaAnnie).

The first is from her mother/daughter tea this afternoon at the...

Tina said, "I love the scones and jam tart. I had already started sharing with DD before I took the picture."

Hi Barb,

You already have me signed up for WDW reporting 8-29 August, but wondered if you'd be interested in a brief (one day!) update from Disneyland Paris on 24 July?

Wish me luck - it's a school trip so I'll have 50 fifteen year olds in tow!!!

Jeanette :)

Hi Jeanette!

I would be very happy to have an update from Disneyland Paris...assuming you have the time to take food pics while supervising 50 teenagers. ;)

Sending positive thoughts and much luck your way! :goodvibes

Good morning everyone! :) Let's begin the day with this announcement. :thumbsup2

Just a reminder that next up to the Disney Dining Plate is...

:cheer2: JennyWren :cheer2:

JennyWren will be at Disney World from 6/24 - 7/1 and has volunteered to do live updates for us!

HAVE A GREAT TRIP, JennyWren!!! :cool1:

Got my PM and am ready to go

We head out on the 9th super early and land in California around 7:15a, the time difference works in our favor here. We'll be meeting up with DH's Parents, his Sisters and their Significant Others. Our party consists of 8 adults and one toddler (2 1/2), it will be my DD's first trip to Disney! Only DH and I are DISers so we'll see how many pictures I can get of everyones food, i'm sure they'll look at me funny. We're staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel and have 3 day park hoppers. The first and last day of our trip will be spent relaxing in the pool and visiting Downtown Disney.

Edit:: Here's the link for the Countdown Chain. I was feeling crafty last night, see if you can spot the hidden in the zebra one.

And we have already received three updates this morning, so let's get started on those.

Our First (two) Updates of the Day were the final ones from Goofyluver, as sadly her trip ended on Friday. :sad1:

Grand Floridian Private Dining Experience

"On Thursday night, Uncle R and I had a private dining experience at the Grand Floridian.
We met our Butler, Bill, at the grand piano in the lobby."

"We were originally supposed to have a private 3rd floor balcony but it was pouring out. So we were led to the 5th floor landing overlooking the pool with a view of The Castle. Here's a look at our view. We were disappointed that we weren't outside...and it would come back to bite us later."

"We worked with a dining consultant to choose our 5 course dinner. We were given our custom menus at the table."

"The bread basket with French rolls and oatmeal raisin rolls. We tasted each and left it...we didn't want to fill up on bread."

"My appetizer course was: Panko Crusted Crab Cakes with Fennel Slaw and Roasted Corn Remoulade. I adored this! I would slather the Remoulade on a shoe!" ;)

"Uncle R had Lobster Risotto with Mushroom Butter Sauce. She says this was her best course!"

"For my soup course, I had Tomato Florentine. This was good, but not great."

"Uncle R had French Onion. Her soup was fabulous."

"For my salad I had Caesar Salad. Probably one of the best Caesar's I've ever had!
(We were basically just tasting each course. We were already filling up!)"

"For Uncle R's salad course she had Citrus Scented Sushi Grade Tuna with Mango, Avocado, and Malanga Chips. We both thought this was good if you got a forkful of all ingredients, but alone the tuna tasted odd."

"For my entree I got Smoked Salmon with Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Wilted Spinach, Caramelized Onions, and Poached Egg Vinaigrette."

"This is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Together and individually the components were amazing.
I wish I had been able to eat it all."

"Uncle R had a Filet with Seasonal Vegetables, Truffle Scented Mashed Potatoes, and Red Wine Jus."

"Her steak was cooked well and overall she really liked her entree. The red wine sauce was a bit strong."

"It was about this time that Wishes was starting. Since we were indoors on the 5th floor landing, other guests started standing near our table to watch Wishes out of the windows. Namely, some teenagers who wanted to make out. It sort of ruined the intimacy and special aspect of a romantic private dinner to watch fireworks. It really did put a huge kink in our night." :sad1:

"By the time Wishes was over, we were full and just wanted to go. We asked Bill if we could take our dessert to go. He first brought us a white chocolate Grand Floridian painting. We're making this a keepsake!"

"Our desserts, which we took to go, were a Miniature Dessert Sampler for Two. It was: a Fresh Fruit Tart, Boston Cream Cake, Key Lime Pie, and Lemon Cheesecake."

"We shared these with the boys the next morning for breakfast. Everything was amazing, but especially the Boston and the Lemon Cheesecake!"

"This was a really special dinner that was sort of ruined by circumstance for us. I'm not sure what the Grand Floridian could have done differently though. We won't do it again, but based on food it was a lovely experience."

Thank you!!!

We are super excited and ready to begin our trip. We leave the house for the airport at 3a and by my calculations we should be enjoying a park and Disney food by 11a. We have a line up that includes BOG, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, O'hana breakfast and lots of other places (and tons of snacks--I'm feeding two teenagers afterall :rolleyes2).

:yay: Can't wait :yay:

Oh my gosh, what a shame to have so thoughtfully planned and anticipated an evening and to have it ruined that way. I would have been disappointed as well. The food did look amazing!

Seems like something should have been done. I would expect a private dining experience to be more private!

Forgot to tell you where we will be dining.
We have ADR's for Via Napoli 2x, Le Cellier, bluezoo, Mama Melrose and Les Chefs

We are known for cancelling and getting last minute ADR's though so that could change

We are staying at the Beach Club so we will prob eat at Hurricane Hannah's, Boardwalk Bakery, Beaches and Cream, and Crew Cup Lounge

I am getting very excited

 Hello everyone,

Just wanted to check in, say hello and let you all know that my 14 year old daughter and I will be live reporting from July 16-24. We take the red eye from California and will be landing super early at 5:15 a.m. on the 16th. We depart late in the evening on the 24th so we will have almost 9 full days of dining to report.

This will be our 7th annual summer mother/daughter trip. She is my favorite Disney travel companion. The rest of the family all have a standing offer to join us but they just let the two of us go. Crazy, I know but it's more than fine with us. We plan and dream all year for our special week together where we are free to talk Disney 24/7 without the eyerolls we get at home! :lmao:

We have lots of ADRs scheduled: Tutto Italia, Rose & Crown, Portobello, Nine Dragons and many, many more. We also plan to try a few new counter service places that we always seem to skip. I look forward to sharing them all with you soon.

Glad to hear from a few more of our July reporters, thanks for checking in! :)

Now it's time for Goofyluver's final update, this one from their lunch at..

Via Napoli

"On our last day, we snagged a last minute reservation to Via Napoli because we had loved it so much when we'd eaten there earlier in the week. This time, we were seated in the main dining room. We noticed this guy looking in the window at us."

"Love all of the light fixtures!"

"Bread and olive oil! So simple an yummy!"

"This time we got half Quatri Fromaggio and half with artichokes, ham and eggplant. We liked the cheese half better but it's pretty hard to ruin this fabulous pizza!"

Then for dessert they had the...

Zeppole Di Catarina - Ricotta Cheese Fritters, served with whipped cream, chocolate sauce

"Yum!" :thumbsup2

"Although our waiter Guido wasn't edible, we also considered him dessert worthy." ;)

"Via Napoli is our new fav Disney restaurant. We've already decided to switch things up for our November trip and add a ressie here!"

2 June Game Points Earned + 2 Bonus Points for misc. pics and pic of cute waiter :thumbsup2

And since that was Goofyluver's final update, it's now time to say...

Thanks so much for being a Live Reporter... Great Job!!! :thanks:

Goofyluver's Total June/July Game Points Earned = 85
