Does anyone else get irritated at certain things shown on sitcoms that visit WDW?

Usually, I love to watch episodes of sitcoms that take place at Disney. Usually, the shows I watch are 90's sitcoms that originally aired on ABC (Full House, Family Matters, Step By Step, etc.). I love trying to figure out the exact place where they are standing, pretend I'm at Disney World, too, and just enjoying seeing the most magical place on earth. That said, I get a bit annoyed/irritated when they do things on these shows that are just not possible. I'm not just referred to Stefan's proposal to Laura using Cinderella, a glass slipper, and the carriage outside the castle or Flash beating some weird record of doing all the rides, eating at all of the eateries, and buying something at all of the shops in a certain amount of time. I'm talking about where they are visiting random places at various parks all in one day.

For example, I was watching Family Matters earlier today and they were at WDW for a science competition for Steve. One minute, they are riding Splash Mountain. Then they are eating at Sci Fi. Then they were checking out Tomorrowland. Then they were grabbing ice cream at Gertie's. Then they were taking the Friendship boat past Beach Club Resort. Now I get park hoppers, but that's just ridiculous! No one's going to be hopping from Magic Kingdom to DHS back to MK and back to DHS.

Anyone else find themselves a bit amused at these shows' trips to Disney World?

I'm amused by the Griffin's visit to Disney. :lmao:

But seriously, it's just a 30 minute sitcom showing various parts of WDW. Who really cares if they do and see all in one day?

I found it funny, that they were in so many different places. Most of the viewers don't know that they are taking shots from different parks. I have guest that come into my Disney store all the time that don't know that MK is not WDW.

I LOVE the WDW episode of Full House. One of my favorites. I have always wanted to stay at the Grand Floridian because of it, and always think of it when we are in Germany in Epcot. There are definitely unrealistic moments in it, though. They don't bug me as much as the episode of Big Bang Theory last year. They didn't even show Disneyland, but they talked about the girls getting their "princess makeovers" and then showed them afterward. So many things wrong with that: people over 12 can't do it any more, they don't sell dresses for adults, adults can't even wear costumes in the park, and the hairstyles were not BBB hairstyles. Also in a different episode of Big Bang Sheldon came into the apartment wearing Mickey ears with his name on the front.

According to Jim did an episode on the Disney Magic cruise ship. Not only was the stateroom HUGE on the show, but it had bunk beds.
That caused a furor on the Cruise Boards with people wanting to book a stateroom with bunk beds in it, and of course, there are no bunk beds on the ships.

I love the Full House episodes, as well! My husband and I talk about how we wish that there was still a band in Germany that would come out and play oompah music and dance with the guests. And I get what you are saying about Big Bang Theory. I've had people ask if I was going to get made up like a princesses like they saw on Big Bang. One of my friends was actually quite sad when she found out that none of that could be done.

I've seen people ask about doing proposals like on Family Matters. They don't seem to understand that Disney doesn't actually shut down the castle, let a girl come up and talk to Cinderella, sit on a throne, and then have a prince ride up in a horse drawn carriage, slip a glass slipper on her foot, and the propose with assistance from all the characters.

But, as much as certain aspects annoy me, I still have to watch all of these episodes every time they air! Every. Single. Time.

In the Boy Meets World episode, they wake up on Splash Mountain. The ride starts and then they are at the drop! Those indoor 8 minutes just never happened ;)

I actually love these episodes. They are flawed in so many ways, but you get to see WDW in the 90s! That's just cool enough for me! :)

Does anyone remember that super cheesy show with Hulk Hogan that was filmed at the Grand Floridian? Too lazy to google right now! It was when the Resort first opened, and I'm surprised that Disney let them film the show there.

Also, love the Kokomo video (hate the song) - that was filmed on the Beach of the Grand Floridian!

ETA: I think the show was Thunder in Paradise???
