6 days until we arrive at the Dolphin!!! :)

It's amazing how something that felt so far away for such a long time can suddenly feel like its coming up too quickly! Don't get me wrong I'm more that ready to get there, I just can't believe it is less than a week ;)

Beautiful!! Thanks for sharing.

Here at the Dolphin on the 17th floor.... Can see the Magic Kingdom and saw the fireworks from our room! Love this place!
:cloud9: Enjoy.

hi, anyone know when the most recent renovations/refurbishment was at the swan and dolphin? tia
I would say renovations are always going on somewhere in the hotels. They are big, so seems continual.

I just booked the Swan for 6 nights in October!! This will be our first time there. I stayed at the Dolphin for a convention years ago. I called them direct and the person I spoke to was great. I was between the standard vs. boardwalk view with balcony and ended up choosing the latter. I still may change...who knows! This is the first time going in October and I thought we may actually get some use of the balcony at this time of year! I couldn't get my first night since its currently blocked out for a convention at both the S&D. I am thinking of booking POR for that first night now.

I am so excited! I just love the Epcot area and can't wait for the F&W festival!

You'll have a fabulous trip!!

Hello!

Can anyone give me an idea of how Christmasy it is at the Dolphin? For example, is it heavily decorated? Is there lovely Christmas music pumped in? Or if I'm looking for Christmas overload, would I be better off to go to BC/YC/BWI?
Thanks!

Christmas is gorgeous at the S/D. Last year they add a mini Osborne Lights on the walkways between the resorts. The Dolphin has the gigantic tree with a huge train set going around it along with lots of presents. The Swan has a lifesize Santa with presents and a chimney/fireplace, all made from chocolate. It's beautiful at the resorts.

Have a great trip, Mike.

Anyone had luck using points for a suite? I have enough points for two traditional rooms (have done this before at swan) but would rather have a two bedroom suite. Have read elsewhere about folks getting these for 20,000 points per night but after emailing the hotel I was told they don't allow you to use points for suites. Going during a slow period even (January).

At this time in 2 days I will be checking to the Swan for the first time..... Sooooo excited.

Have a great trip! Hope you have great weather for your trip.

Of course I didn't say that just because we will be there a few days after you arrive! ;)

I have been checking the weather forecast daily and posting to the June FB group. So far it looking like right around 90 most days with chance of rain daily.... Normal June weather

June FB Group? The Swan Dolphin page or another one?

As long as it's mainly afternoon rain (we'll likely be back at the Dolphin then) it will be better than when we went in June 2011. We didn't have rain then, but temps were mid-90's every day and even hit high 90's a few of them. :firefight

Yes there is a June Facebook group. Matter of fact there are FB groups for most months I am in in few. It's fun. Most people update daily there instead of here because its easier, and most times nicer.

I'm assuming you're there now -- hope you have a great time!

Hope you have a great trip, too!

Got back from our trip a few days ago. Stayed at the Swan for 5 nights before our 4 nights at BLT. While they didn't say that we had been upgraded, I'm thinking we must have been upgraded to a resort view. Surely, standard view isn't this nice (looking out of our window from left to right):

I will. I am so excited to be so close to Epcot and DHS
Enjoy!!!

Looks beautiful!!!

Is there a swan and dolphin fb page started by fans to discuss?
I haven't come across any active fan pages...just the official Swan/Dolphin facebook page.

Ooooh...I like the waterway view. Nothing standard about that!

Here now and loving it.
*NOT* there now, and totally jealous, LOL! Have a wonderful time!

The AAA rate is often the lowest rate around, but keep checking back here. New specials and offers are added all the time.

It's also worthwhile to sign up for their newsletter (look for box on right side of the offers page).

Last week I booked the Swan for 6 nights in October. The best rate currently available was the AAA rate for me (there was also a 6th night free special). I will keep checking the site though! Thanks for the tip on the newsletter.
