Next in yesterday was a dinner update from dutchdisneyfamily.


She said, "We had planned to head to Wolfgang Puck Express but like the other two times we wanted to head there, storms decided to threaten. So we ate at POR again."

"I got the Royal Chicken Sandwich, which was actually pretty good. DH got the Bacon Cheeseburger and kids got Make your Own Pasta with Chicken and broccoli."







And for their desserts, they chose...




"Red velvet cake, carrot cake, strawberry cheesecake. We also had a chocolate chip cookie not pictured."

"This southern gal had never had one before, so what better place than Disney to try new dishes! It had a great spicy flavor!"






"Robby had the lobster bisque."




Lobster Bisque with Maine Lobster, Creme Fraiche, Preserved Lemon, and Fines Herbes


"He liked that it had more seafood flavor than cream."





"For our entree, we got the same dish, Prime New York strip steak. We learned Yachtsman is the only restaurant on property with its own in house butcher, and this cut came highly recommended."




12-oz. Prime New York Strip Steak with Gruyere Potato Gratin and Peppercorn-Brandy Sauce


"Everything about this dish was perfection. This is easily the best steak I have eaten on property. The potato gratin has a lovely gruyere cheese flavor explosion that is to die for!"





"For Robby's dessert, he sampled the Yachtsman sundae."



"He was quite pleased with his selection!"




"I ordered the sorbet."





"This was better than most of the sorbet selections I have tried, mainly because of the flavors, raspberry, pineapple and passion fruit."




"Overall, the food here was impeccable. Like I said before, this was the best steak we have had on property. The restaurant itself left little impression on us. This is a slower service restaurant as well, so make sure to budget your time."

Thanks for doing this Barb! Keeping up with it has to be a tough job, but when my phone was just being plain difficult it doesn't make the job easier. My phone decided which pictures it wanted to send apparently! About the hair at Columbia Harbour House, I was mostly done with my meal when I discovered it. I brought it to the manager's attention. They offered me something else but I was pretty full by this point. Then in my last meal at POR I found a hair in the house made chips that came with the sandwich! I didn't even bother messing with it because we had to catch the DME. My husband keeps wondering why it's always me that this happens to. Seriously, it's everywhere, not just Disney. I think it's because I pay attention to what I eat.

Overall the food on this trip was very good! There are a few places will have to return. Cape May, Be Our Guest, Tusker House, Biergarten. We liked Mama Melrose, but not enough to try it again for awhile.

Tuna Salad Sandwich - tuna salad with lettuce and tomato on freshly baked croissant







Cheese Steak Sandwich - shaved beef, grilled with onions, mushrooms, red peppers, and white American cheese served on a hoagie roll

Now for our First Update of the Day sent to us this morning by a new reporter who arrived at Disney World today, Tina (AlohaAnnie).


She said, "Hi! We are having breakfast at Downtown Disney's..."

She said, "Good morning! Guess where I am...solo?...












After riding Test Track it was on to World Showcase, where she sent an update from her breakfast at France's...












Although these looking pretty tempting...

"The ham & cheese croissant is so delicious. It's flaky and buttery and probably not good for my diet but that's ok. I will be walking a lot."

"I asked for all champagne and he asked if I was driving. Ha ha! The oj was for color he said."











"World Showcase is closed until 11:00 but Les Halles is open. It's pretty dead inside but so nice cause it's drizzling outside."




And then while still in France, emmebear had an encounter with this crazy character, who apparently has taken up the new hobby of tower climbing ...








Before leaving Epcot, she encountered another "mad" character...

Tina said, "While we were at Downtown Disney, we decided to pick up snacks."





"The kids made their own treat. Gingerbread Cookie dipped in milk chocolate covered in sprinkles with a dark chocolate drizzle. Marshmallows dipped in milk chocolate with crushed Oreos and a milk chocolate drizzle."



"We also picked up shortbread cookies and Cherry Sour balls candy."







"And this family can never pass up a Coke Freeze."

Where she embarked on an expedition to Mt. Everest...








Had a a cold, refreshing Bud Light while in Asia...
















Then it was on to Dinoland, where emmebear snapped this pic as she waited to board a Time Rover for a pre-historic tour...






Then emmebear said, "It is so steamy hot..."





"The steamy hotness brings out some really nasty odors from people. Ew!"
