Continuing with Figment Goes to the Flower & Garden (& Food) Festival...

Via Napoli (Epcot, Lunch)
Via Napoli is one of Figment's favorite places to eat at Epcot. The food is very good, the restaurant is nice and bright, with an airy feeling, and watching the chefs make the pizza is fun. Available upon request, is bread. It wasn't anything fancy.

DSC_0182_1_zps30de9f2f.jpg

Figment started the meal with his two favorite appetizers: the Calamari Fritti (top), prosciutto e melone (middle), and the Arancini (bottom). Yum! The calamari is cripsy on the outside and tender on the inside. The dipping sauce is very good (but if you get one of the chili flakes on top, it can be hot). The prosciutto e melone is slices of cantelope with proscuitto on top. It's very good (especially if you like prosciutto). The arancini is one of his favorite appetizers. It’s crispy on the outside and filled with risotto and mozzarella. So yummy!

For his entrees, Figment had the Linguini Frutti di Mare (top) and the Prosciutto e Melone pizza (bottom). The linguini has lots of seafood (shrimp, clams, and squid) and a slightly spicy tomato sauce. The pizza is thin crusted with prosciutto and melon slices on top. It's Figment's favorite pizza.

And then it was time for dessert! Via Napoli has one of Figment's favorite desserts: the Coppa de Brutti Ma Buoni (the ugly but good) Sundae. It's vanilla gelato with Amarena cherries, a cookie, and cherry sauce. It's very rich, but very good.

Via Napoli also helped celebrate the anniversary by giving Figment's family a cookie with two candles!

Monsieur Paul (Epcot, Dinner)
This was another new place for Figment. He'd been to the Bistro long ago, but was looking forward to trying the new incarnation. Sadly, the meal did not live up to expectations/hopes. The food was good, but the service was lacking and the atmosphere was fairly stuffy (at least compared to other Disney World signature restaurants). The meal begins with the Amuse-Bouche (top). They were bite-sized cheese puffs. Following that was a baguette with butter (bottom).

Figment opted to skip the appetizers because nothing really jumped out at him (or they were really expensive). So on to the entrees. Figment started with the Rouget Atlantique en ecailles de pommes de terre, fenouil, sauce romarin (Red snapper in potato "scales", braised fennel, and rosemary sauce) (top). It was good and the presentation was very pretty.

The next entree was the St. Jacques parfum d'hiver, emulsion de creme au rhum (Seared scallops, black truffle spaghettini, Romanesco cabba). The scallops were cooked perfectly. The foam was a little weird (kind looked like soap and didn't have much flavor).

DSC_0491_1_zpse59c90f7.jpg

The final entree was the Magret de canard aux epices, navet con fit, pommes paillasson, compote vierge (Roasted duck breast, oriental spices, turnip confit, grated potatoes). Again, it had good flavor and a pretty presentation.

DSC_0472_1_zps3868e93f.jpg

Then it was on to dessert. Figment tried three of the desserts and they were all okay, but not terribly memorable (which means not outstanding). The first was the Millefeuilles aux Fruits rouges (Berries Napoleon with light lemon cream and strawberry sorbet).

DSC_0513_1_zps6b3e8ed0.jpg

The next dessert was the Vacherin glace vanille, sorbet framboise, creme chantilly (Vanilla ice cream and raspberry sorbet in a meringue, whipped cream). It was very pretty in the restaurant (dark lighting).

DSC_0501_1_zpsabe2e1b0.jpg

The last dessert was the Entremets aux trois chocolat, glace au chocolat (Three chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream). It had lots of chocolate and Figment's favorite chocolate puffs on top.

Next time...Raglan Road Sunday Brunch and Be Our Guest for dinner...

I didn't take too many food photos on my last trip..

Cheeseburger & Fries @ Pecos Bill's.. sometimes you can't go wrong with simple junk food.

Dole Whip!
IMG_2558-L.jpg

Turkey sandwich @ Contempo Cafe. I hated it! The apple butter spread was gross, and impossible to scrape off. I would have ordered it plain, but could not figure out how to do that at the kiosk. The chips were pretty bad too. Tasteless and hard as rocks.

I actually had this for breakfast one morning:

Pot Roast at Liberty Tree Tavern. It was excellent.

Are posts disappearing from this thread? I posted pictures from RR, BOG, RR and more and they're vanished. What happened?

They were definitely here yesterday, I saw them :confused3

Good, I thought maybe it was me! I think someone is trying to clean out the thread to reduce the number of posts or reduce the number of pages. I noticed that a couple of earlier posts are also missing in their entirety. Hopefully the moderators will explain what is happening so we know whether to continue posting pictures here or not.

The last 2 days I would get notifications for new posts on a few threads but there was nothing knew when I clicked on them.

I don't know why they would disappear... this thread was mentioned on the podcast last month as being one of the most popular...

Maybe it's just the server...

I don't know why posts would be disappearing throughout the day. Moderators will occasionally come through every few months and clean up all the chatter so any post that says yummy or is just talk about food will be moved so we can have this photo thread be just photos for the history. However chatter usually stays on for a few days. Not sure what Is going on but I will look into it.

Maybe that's what happened. I usually quoted the people who commented on my photos and answered them and then followed that with the new set of photos. Maybe the moderate didn't realize that they were new photos and deleted all of the post.

I will look into it over the weekend. That is a good possibility though. I'll start digging there.

If I can find them I will bring them back to life. :)

OMGoodness, all those House of Blues pics look amazing. Definitely gonna have to try that some day.

Croissant Jambon Fromage - ham, cheese and bechamel in a croissant (great use of a snack credit!)

Quiche Lorraine

Lump Crab-Florida Rock Shrimp Cakes - with locally-sourced fennel slaw and apple-cider dressing

We both had the filet with lobster mash for dinner.. our reservation was late and we were starving so we were too busy eating to remember to take a picture :rotfl2: The steak was just okay but the lobster mash was DELICIOUS.

For dessert we both had the creamy indulgence trio.

Tuna Nicoise Salad (This was excellent) You can also see the chocolate cream puff and the chocolate cupcake in the background

Carved Turkey Sandwich

Okay.. so I just spent three days down in Disney. I tried to remember to take pictures of everything, but sometimes my stomach didn't give my hand a chance to snap a picture lol... Here are some other miscellaneous pictures from the trip.

Desserts at Boma (fruit cobbler, Kenyan coffee tarts, zebra domes)

I love the rice crispy treat balls they sell at the Main Street bakery. I bought an 8-pack to take back to my room and had them for breakfast on my balcony with a cup of coffee.

Our last afternoon before flying home we decided to snack and drink around the world. We were staying on the Boardwalk and our Magical Express pickup was at 5:45 so we started around 2 and worked our way from Mexico to France.. then we headed out the international gateway back to our resort.

Our first stop in Mexico was La Cantina de San Angel. We had a quick service to use up so we opted for nachos and churritos con cajeta.

We then headed inside the Mexico pavilion to get a drink from La Cava del Tequila. This is by far my favorite place for drinks in all of Walt Disney World. My husband ordered a blood orange margarita and I had a cucumber margarita. Both were amazing.

We then headed to Norway to try school bread. I had never had it before. It was good, but I don't think it's a must have for me.

After Norway, we visited the tea stand in China. They were featuring a drink on a separate sign board at the register, and it sounded too good to pass up. This was called "Tipsy Ducks in Love." It was made up of coffee, tea, bourbon, and chocolate. It sounded too interesting to pass up giving a try, and it was really good!

After China, we moved on to Morocco. We both had Sangria. We almost ordered it from the stand outside, but a CM tipped us off that if we go into the QS and order it, and request it on ice, you get more in a much bigger cup for the same price.

We ended our snack/drink excursion in France. We had grand marnier slushies (Husband's favorite) along with chocolate mousse (another favorite of the Husband)
