The dream is unavailable for a few weeks in the fall of 2014. Last sailing in October available is 4n Oct 19th 2014. Next one available is Nov 17th, 2014.

The 4n DD for Nov 13th is no longer available. Are these signs of the Dream going for it's dry dock?

Hmm - looks like things are being updated during that time... Dream departures are changing during that time due to the Magic moving to PC...

! wondered the same thing when I looked at dates for November 2014. Was planning on booking the fantasy on Nov. 8th but after doing a little research I found I could book a back to back on the dream begining Dec 1st getting the 1, bedroom suite for 7 nights with back to back for less then the cat v I had booked on the fantasy, around 300 dollars cheaper and we upgrade to cat t! Now if I was to book a cat t on the fantasy for the week it was over 2 thousand more, so getting such a good deal have opted for the dream, have sailed on the fantasy and magic before but never the dream. Since so far its just myself and dh I figure we will be spending a little more time relaxing in the cabin and looks like this is the best way to go!:thumbsup2

That's a little long for a drydock for Dream. There usually only about 2 weeks initially. The Magic class are getting longer ones due to a lot of changes as opposed to general upkeep and inspections.

There's another thread and apparently the dust hasn't settled yet. Somewhere along the line the Magic is moving to PC for Sun Thur trips and the Dream is moving to Mon Fri trips. It might mean that the Dream is gearing up for more double dips or a slightly different itin then the Nassau/CC trips.

Maybe it's longer because they want to do more than just the typical dry dock stuff? Like upgrading some of the areas to be more similar to the Fantasy?

If I had to guess with the new ISO drydock rules, DCL will probably forgo a drydock in favor of an inwater inspection. It should have been this year. If they follow the every other year schedule that they had been following, or the no more then 3. She was launched in Oct of 10. Depends on the date on her hull certificate, if they use the launch date or her acceptance date. Even then if I remember she was accepeted in late 2010. I still think that the dust hasnt fully settled with the Magic coming home. Though why they are swapping the Dreams sched with the Magics is any ones guess.

The Dream only needs a 2 week dry dock tho, right?

I was wondering about this, Truck1. Could they be doing this with the Wonder as well, leaving a longer dry dock for 2015?

I'm still wondering if DCL just won't cancel those 2014 cruises and send the Wonder in dry dock.

Theoretically yes. the Dream would normally ony require a 14 day or so drydock. Mostly to satisfy the inspection part of her certificates. Thats under the old rules. There is a new rule that came out in the last year or so that basically says that as long as certain conditions are met, such as the ship has not bee run aground, or there hasnt been any other hull issues, and the ship is less then 15 years old, then the ships Master, can sign off and ask for an inwater inspection to take the place of 1 DD in the 5 year period.

For the Wonder, no. her last dd was in 11, shich puts the 3 year rule into effect. Also, she too old most likely to forgo the dd infavor of the in water inspections.
I still think that we just havent seen the new shedule for the Dream come out yet. They are waiting on all of the dust to settle from the movement of people before opening things up to the general public.

Thanks Truck1! Knew I could count on you for info.

Interestingly enough, on one of our cruises on the Fantasy, at CC, there were divers and ROVs that were doing some sort of looksee. They were based out of our hood (Tampa). Wonder what they were looking at......

Welcome.

Ive seen the same company at PC on her Maiden. I know that there are lights that sweep back and forth under her hull that gives the appearance of flouresecent wakes. They might either be looking at them for 1 reason of another, or their is a concern that the new ships might not have as comfortable room at CC as originally thought. I have pictures somewhere, not sure where. Ill have to look when I get home tom.
