What would you say if you had the ear of Bob Iger about the plans for DVC at the Poly?
I'd say "Bob.... back slowly away from the Polynesian and noboby gets hurt....."

If they do a DVC at the Poly I will:
1) pass out from excitement..
2) Buy tons of points.
Poly is my favorite resort!
I am glad someone is excited, I would be too if the plans were scaled back a bit, I do like blt
I just wish they would leave well enough alone. I understand that the DVC is a big money maker for them and that is basically their bottom line, but why take away from the charm of resorts like the GF and Poly? Like a previous poster has mentioned, bulid something somewhere else. Lord knows you have the space.
I thought they did it right with OKW and later on, SSR. Look at what happened with the BCV. They built it and now Storm Along Bay is jammed packed all summer. Think about all of the additional guests who now pile into these resorts.
Getting a dining reservation at Ohana is hard enough. Good luck to anyone trying to get one once the DVC is built there. It will be a mess.
We are BC fans first and foremost and only stay there. That being said we frequently visit the monorail resorts during our vacations. I have always loved the charm and feel of the Poly and the elegance of the GF (not a CR fan) and feel like some of that will be compromised with the addition of DVC.
I think it's a real shame.

I am in the camp for No DVC at Poly. You can't improve on perfection.
We just came home from a week at Poly. The DVC recruiter and I had a long talk re the Poly project as I told him the only resort I would purchase points for was at the Poly. At first he said there were no "current" plans for DVC at Poly. After I discussed some of the rumors and info I had gleaned from here and other places, he agreed that plans were in the "initial stages" but that Disney would not initiate them until the GF DVC units were significantly sold as Disney had been burned in the past with too many units for sale and new properties coming on line. He said that the grand villas over the lagoon were "pipe dreams" and that that the model would be like BLT and GF buildings putting more capacity in a multistory bldg. He identified the probable site for the DVC bldg as being in the Spirit of Aloha area. Take everything said with a grain of salt but it was later at night and he was not "giving the pitch" as much as passing the time with me.
I understand that this is all just a rumor right now, and I am not holding my breath until Disney officially says that there will be a DVC built at the Poly. But with that all said and done, I am not sure how to feel about all of this. We stayed at the Poly during our September trip and loved the feel of the resort and would gladly return to the hotel part, however we are DVC members therefore staying there on points would not be a bad idea either. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens with the "Rumors" before I make any sort of judgement. I do agree with the others though that the Poly is beautiful the way it is now , and if DVC does decide to do something then use an existing building and not build any other....kind of like what they did with Animal Kingdom lodge and the Jambo House.
