Boycott Starbucks in Magic Kingdom

I really think having a chain coffee provider in the park is an insult to the memories of all the faithful Disney park fans. I have nothing against Starbucks coffee but I do take issue with the way they have been welcomed inside the park. I think it would have--should have been stipulated that their products NOT their brand be implemented inside the park. That said I think we should all boycott the new Starbucks located at the Magic Kingdom.

Good luck with that. If it makes you feel better, I don't drink coffee at all so there isn't any reason for me to patronize the store since they don't have the pastries i used to get there anymore.

Yeah, bring back Nescafe. No brands in the Parks!!! Oh wait... :rotfl2:

They had McDonalds French Fries stand in DL when I went there years ago. I have never heard anyone complain about them. I was much more disappointed with McDonalds being in the park then Starbucks. But I understand wanting to get something in the parks that you can't get on every other corner.

Like Coke and Edy's?

I wouldn't care that they had brands in the parks but make it a Disney themed coffee shop *featuring* Starbucks coffee

This is a silly idea Walt wanted everything sponsored look at the carousel of progress for example and look at other rides,
having American company's sponsor rides and shops is a great thing :) I do not like Starbucks Coffee myself but the first stop I will make on my next trip is at Starbucks I think this is a great partnership that has been a long time coming!!!

List of corporate sponsors at the world.

This is not a new thing, Walt was the master of getting companies to pay for the privilege of serving his guests at DL.

If you want skip Starbucks, more power to you. If you want to boycott corp sponsors, you'll find you have a short "to do" list for the vacation. :goodvibes

As a Starbucks manager the only way I can afford to go to disney is through what I know and love which is Starbucks. I am excited to see a store that is not the "normal Starbucks experience" (I heard the stores in the parks look vastly different than normal Starbucks, baristas don't wear green aprons) I will also say that the coffee around the world does not taste the same (I will not say inferior, I don't want to begin to get into that type of conversation), but since there are 10,000 stores in the US alone our customers like our coffee. If they are like me it is nice to know we can plan our regular routine in to our day.

Give me a break. Starbucks is just the latest in a long ling of corporate sponsors that Disney has been partnering with since Day 1 at Disneyland.

As a PP said, that's basically what they're doing. The shop is still going to be called the Main Street Bakery. You will just have a sign featuring the Starbucks logo outside the store. From what I've heard there will be a couple of shelves of Starbucks brand food and other items, but there will still be many of the same Disney products that were offered there before. The inside of the store will be changed, but the original theme will still be there- this place is not going to look like your traditional Starbucks. Take a look at the DCA version:

This is just another poster who is completely uninformed about how they decided to integrate Starbucks into the parks. And the no corporate sponsors argument is a joke....there are corporate sponsors everywhere.

We have had Starbucks here in DCA for a while now and it's been wonderful. It looks like....well...a Disney shop selling Starbucks coffee! Exactly what the OP wanted. So I really don't get what the problem is.

I know my dad is thrilled with the fact that on our trip in June he will be able to get an Americano every time we are at Magic Kingdom (he wants to go to MK everyday this trip! Lol)

I find the idea that anything inside Magic Kingdom, much less something on Main Street USA, could be boycotted a bit amusing. Seriously, even if everyone on this board was inclined to boycott it, there would still be countless customers passing through that shop daily.

Me, I'm not a huge Starbucks fan but I will gladly take it over the swill they've been passing off as coffee for the decades I've been going...:crazy2:

Do you boycott all the other companies with a presence in the park? If you are going to boycott something, shouldn't it be Disney since they brought Starbucks into the park, not the other way around?

Seriously? :confused3

Let us know how that works out for you. And make sure to steer clear of all of the attractions that are sponsored by a particular brand as well...might be a pretty boring trip.

Disney can't win. People complain to no end about how awful coffee is at Disney (and it is)...so they bring in a popular brand to answer the cries and are beat up over that.

{Sigh}

I, for one, will be walking down Main St :drinking1

Go slurp down a DOLE WHIP and calm down. Was the Bakery any worse off when it was sponsored by Sara Lee? Did you boycott Pecos Bill's when it was sponsored by Frito Lay? Did you ever see Monsanto's CircleVision 360? Eastern Airlines' "If You Had Wings"? Goodyear's Speedway? We could go on for days and days.

I don't care how much starbucks coffee they sell at Disney - we, personally don't like the burned taste of their coffee so don't drink it - bring my own 'Community' coffee.

But, I would have liked the MSB to stay the way it was - just loved the feel of it. Probably will not be going there regardless as it seems they will no longer have what I went there for - the yummy cinnamon roll (and no, eating one at Gaston's Tavern is not the same). Tried it, it's yummy, but loved our tradition of getting it at MSB.

So, no, boycotting it is not my thing - anyone who likes their starbucks can get it with no issues from me.

Stop confusing people with the facts.... :lmao:
