Cabana Ranking

My booking window opens up next Thursday (120 day/concierge) and I am hoping to snag a cabana on the family beach, preferably a lower number. I'd like to have the cabanas ranked in order of our preference so that if they are going like hotcakes when I log in at midnight I know which one to grab. I've done some searching but haven't been able to find a list of pros/cons of each cabana.
I realize they're all pretty much the same so maybe it doesn't matter much...but if you've had one can you share what you thought were the pros/cons of your specific cabana? Anything that separates certain numbers from the rest of the pack?

Thanks!!

I wouldn't turn any of them down, but we had #4 last year and loved it. It was close enough so that the walk to the restaurant at lunch was not bad and it was closer to get to the watersides out at pelican plunge. At the same time, though, it wasn't one of the very first ones on that part of the beach either, so you weren't positioned right next to the dividing rope. We tried to get it again for our sept cruise this year, but it was taken so we got #5 instead.

Some are reluctant to tell you the best Cabana #'s as it only creates competition. ;)

Ah ha! This I did not consider! Thanks for the insight on why the info i wanted seemed so illusive!!

We had cabana 12 a little over a week ago and LOVED it! No other way to do Castaway cay IMO!
I think they would all be amazing but 1 or 2 might be a bit much because they are close to the other beach and I know our concierge team had to constantly tell others on the family beach they couldn't come on the cabana beach.

I've herd that some of the double digit ones lose the water front when the tides go out. I reserved a single digit one as it is just two adults and I would like it to remain semi water front property all day, lol

If you're concierge, just call/email Shoreside Concierge now and have them do it for you. Tell them exactly which one you want and you should have no problem getting it. With that said, I originally had them reserve #2, and changed my mind the next morning and switched to #6.

On our very first cruise we were lucky that someone dropped a cabana just prior to sailing and we snagged the last one on the family beach 18? maybe.. We have older kids and liked having our own space away from everyone. They came and took us to lunch and back so being far away wasn't really a problem.

It was a nice experience, but I, personally, wouldn't do it again because my kids are older now and we can just go to the adult beach to get away from it all.

However, if I had little kids, out in that hot sun..it would be a requirement because it was great to have your own area and SHADE.

Good luck, I'm sure they are all fabulous.

We had cabana #9 earlier this month. It has a great view of the ship & is close to the restroom & cookies 2 without being next to the family beach.

We had #6 in April and loved it. Close enought to Cookies and the bathrooms that it wasn't a chore to get there, but far enough away from the family beach. We had a nice view of the ship, and we had waterfront all day. I wouldn't want to be too much farther out. My top choices would be 4 to 7, and I would not hesitate to book #6 again.

I researched the threads when considering a cabana and ended up with #7 based on all the positive comments and photos. I agree w/ last poster...4-7 is the way I'd go.

to me this is a little like asking which seat is better in First Class - they are all better than Coach.

We had cabana #9,, and it had great service, a hammock, shade, water, soda, and a shower to rinse off the sand. It was also a short walk to the beach.

That being said, ALL cabanas have these features.

If you are not planning on walking a ton back and forth to the main beach, then the placement doesn't matter much.

We found the private beach to be comparatively empty, and no one stayed in one spot. Some enjoyed the low tide areas near the higher cabana numbers, others like the deeper water.

You can't go wrong, because the primary features are all the same!

Good luck getting your cabana!

I am very curious about the low tide... For our November cruise I was wanting to book #17 for the privacy, since it is the last one on the family beach but if there will be no water by noon I would rather pick a different one. Any suggestions?

I had 17 booked last year but had to cancel our holiday/Cruise. I did do a lot of checking about the water as well. At full low tide I had found out it was about just Knee high. Obviously the tide is higher and lower at different months also but there is still water there and space to search for little sea creatures.

I was told this Cabana was really good for Privacy because of it being the last one. I am hoping to being able to get it this year in September. :)

Well, I did as much research as I could and really couldn't differentiate much between them so I asked shoreside concierge for any one #4-7. Then I logged in right at midnight because I didn't trust 100% that it would be done right then (based on other reports of them not booking until later in the morning). At 12:02 I could already see #4 on my reservation. Hurray!

That's the one I want too if I get a choice. There is a very long detailed video someone here posted and you can see it on you tube.

It is an excellent video! He also did one for #19 on Serenity Bay. I booked it because of his video for my BFF trip in Sept.. I want to book 17 for my November cruise. My dd(11) is a competitive swimmer she will want me water than knee deep so we may have to choose another.
