heading to POP next Tuesday! I paid for a preferred pool room but not I am worried with reports of construction on the kiddie pool... will my preferred pool room be facing the kiddie pool or does it guarantee me to be closer to the dining hall away from the kiddie pool? Is the construction site loud or does it badly damage the view of the resort? thought the construction would be done on it by now. is it still being worked on? do they offer any more kiddie pools as an option while that one is being worked on? I don't remember another kiddie pool at the resort. I am guessing that the AoA kiddie pool is not an option while the POP is under construction.

I was wondering that same?? Anyone know if there is another option while Pop kiddie pool is closed? Also, does anyone know when it is supposed to be done and what they are doing to it? I really hope the pop up jet things in the kiddie pool are still there (Not the goofy jets but the pop up water in the kiddie pool). Thanks all :)

A preferred pool room will be closer to the Classic Hall end and won't directly face the Kiddie Pool.

There's only one splash / toddler pool at Pop. I have not read any reports that you would be allowed to use the AoA splash pool, but why not ask about it if the Kiddie Pool is indeed still being worked? See below for more...

The previous refurb info was "Hippy Dippy Kiddie Pool deck surface replacement will occur" and it was supposed to be done by April 26. You'd hope that if it's still underway (reports were it is or was) that it would be finished sooner rather than later, as we're approaching a month later. The current refurb info doesn't reference this work at all.

I just called Pop and they said the Kiddie Pool refurb was completed on May 3rd.

So, hopefully it is now open. I'll know for sure in FOUR DAYS!!!!

Thank you for answering my question!! Ill make a note to ask for a fan than when we check into our room. We're not going until October but we sleep with a fan all year round...in PA lol

Same here - we sleep in a wind tunnel. In MN. I like to keep the windows open and the fan in front of it blowing the ice cold air on me.

Nothing better than freezing cold sheets!!!

And being all snuggled in your nice warm bed...I'm the same way! :)

We just checked out of POP on May 12th. The pool WAS still under refurb. Still had the green tarp screens up around it. We were in room 5110 which is right in front of the kiddie pool area. It was not loud and honestly I only remember seeing the workers there a couple of times. But we were gone alot.
It looked to be pretty much done from what I could tell. We saw them mostly just painting and such. But I really have no idea what they were doing to it to begin with. lol

At Pop now, in bldg 4, the kiddie pool refurb is complete.

so no construction going on at all in the 60's area? GREAT!!!!:thumbsup2 I was starting to get worried a little bit there... the one time I pay for a really upgraded room...I was just SURE there would be construction messes and noise everywhere!:rotfl2:

Checking in tomorrow!!! Do they have boxed fans at all Disney resorts or is it just the values?! I can't believe I never knew about this before?! I sleep with a fan on daily more or less to drown out noise in my apt so I'll be inquiring this upon getting into the room as I tend to use the bathroom fan instead but not all resorts are the same with that.

Any pics of the new and improved kiddie pool?

We may be POPPING over for Christmas!! pixiedust: So excited! Went last year, for the first year in 10 or 11, and now we're privileged enough to come back, to celebrate our anniversary with the kids!

The box fan info is great - I can't sleep without one and I hate hauling mine down to Pop.

It's been a while but I recall a map of Pop showing all the connecting rooms as well as handicapped rooms - any idea where I can find it?

Also, how much per night to rent a cot/extra bed?
