Welcome to all the new cruisers :)

I sent an updated FE list to Claire a couple of days ago so if you've emailed about the FE then your name should be on the first page when it's updated.

Hi Dissers!

Please could you add us to the roll-call?
Michala & Martin - 5020
John & Maria (my parents) - 6034

I thought I'd write a little bit about us, so you know who we are :)

I'm Michala and Martin is my boyfriend, we'll both be 27 when we cruise, we live just outside London and both work in offices in central London. We're Orlando addicts - I say Orlando, not WDW, because we enjoy USO and the whole Orlando experience just as much as we enjoy WDW. Martin has been on holiday to Orlando most years since he's been 11. My first time was just after our 21st birthdays with Martin's family and I was hooked; by the cruise rolls around I will have been 7 times (or possibly 8 - fingers crossed)!

As a kid I was always begging my mum and dad (Maria and John) to take me to Disney World, but for one reason or another, we never got to go. After all these years, I finally convinced them to venture over & they both loved it! So much so, that when we said we might be booking a DCL cruise, they jumped at the chance. They have cruised many times with other lines and we've been to WDW a lot, so combined I think we'll be an unstoppable force! ;)

I'm super excited about boarding the Magic & crossing the transatlantic!

I'm having a bit of trouble with the multi-quote feature - so hello to Wayne, Karen and Matt - and also welcome to Micala, Martin, John, and Maria!! :wave2:

To Wayne, Karen & Matt: I hope Matt gets to go to the University of New Hampshire (UNH)! I went there back in the dinosaur ages... :rotfl2:

To Micala, Martin, John and Maria: I love the Orlando area myself and live just under an hour outside of there.

I have the feeling we are going to have a reasonably full ship for a TA. This is going to be so much fun - for me it's an adventure of a lifetime!

Welcome Abroad

I am smile when I was reading your story about Disney and DCL.

I am not sure if we had the room 5020 or 5022.. Is it secret porthole room? While we were cruising at Med 2010.

However, my husband Ian booked it for us as it is Deck 1:rolleyes1 Because
he don't know about air flight cost. Oh well, unless that we have the room along we are looking forward to..

Looking forward to meet you all

Hello everyone.
Some of you know me from UK trip planning, most of you have no idea who I am, hopefully we will all get to know each other.:goodvibes

A familiar name indeed ..... Welcome aboard .... I look forward to meeting you and your family :):)

Love reading Matts Blog especially as our eldest daughter will be hopefully starting Uni next year really good insight .
If he can help with anything just send him a message.

One step closer this evening, he now has an appointment at the US Embassy in London to hopefully get a Student Visa.

Between the Wonder and the Magic we have been in cabins 5020 (twice) 5024, 5009 & 5144(free upgrade) so you can tell which deck we like:rotfl:

You too, we have been FaceBook friends long enough:goodvibes

Please add us to the roster since we are officially booked. Karyn & Cristi are in Cabin 7570 so we are joining the deck 7 people. I think I've only ever been on deck 2 before and my previous three Disney cruises have all been on the Wonder so now I finally get to sail on the Magic with Sorcerer Mickey. Cristi has been on the Wonder once & the Magic once.

Now for a little more about us. I'm from New York. Never quite got the WDW bug until I finally went for the first time in 1995 at the age of 35, lucky for me it was before they made the castle that ugly pepto-bismol pink birthday cake thing which was how my mother saw it the first time I took her in 1996. It was on that trip in 1996 that I bit the bullet and made my first DVC purchase. I believe that was also the first year of the F & W festival which was nothing like it is these days I just remember seeing some of the food booths but I don't remember anything else about it back then. Then I started attending the Disneyana Conventions. Next it was the WDCC Art Classics Conventions beginning in 1999 which is where Cristi & I met and became friends. Cristi is from Plano, Texas. We've been travel buddies & roommates for numerous other WDW, DL & D23 events over the 14 years that we have known each other.

Deborah, my daughter and I had a cabin on deck one and turns out, we loved it! We'd never been lower than deck six but we were on a strict budget so went for it. I dreaded it right up until the day we boarded. I was quite pleasantly surprised. It's so nice and quiet down there, and so easy to get back to the room after excursions. We've had an inside room three times and the one on deck one was our favorite! And, we made a pact with each other to not use the elevators at all for the entire week (which about killed me, LOL!) and we got off with no weight gain. Only cruise that ever happened!

Greetings everyone!

We are excited to be joining the 2014 WBTA after having done the 2011 EBTA.

We have decided that it may be fun to come into Dublin, London, Paris, or Amsterdam a few days before we sail. We have enjoyed Barcelona before and want to add this extra destination to the trip.

We are US citizens. Anybody have reccomendations for how to schedule airfare and what to expect for US citizens flying from one European country to another?

Perhaps arrive to Barcelona the night of the 5th?
Or could we make it by taking an early flight to Barcelona the morning of the 6th?

Very excited to be back on the TA even if we are on Deck 1 (cheapest Disney vacation points)... for now. Hoping for another upgrade.

Hey Karyn,
Where on Long Island are you from?
I grew up in Deer Park and DH grew up in Central Islip. Combined,we've lived on Fire Island,Bayport/Bluepoint, Syosset and Hampton Bays for the last 15 years(we're putting that house up for sale if anyone is interested!!!!!).

We'll be full timers in Key West as of the Fall,so we're even looking into not only more cruises-4 on DCL so far-but maybe even getting annual passes to WDW.

We're doing the Wine/Dine 5k this November-still breaking in my two new feet(multiple surgeries are now done!):goodvibes

Good morning all, thank goodness it's finally the weekend!!!!! :goodvibes

I will be back later/tomorrow to update the roll call, but firstly welcome to all new cruisers. Please have a read of the first page, we are organising lots of Dis events that you can join in. :thumbsup2

Have you all got anything exciting planned for the weekend? We are shopping for a new bed and furniture for our bedroom. Have a good day all.

Nothing exciting planned here ... but busy nearly every weekend in June, so trying to make the most of a couple of quiet ones before June to do some de-cluttering. If the weather perks up tomorrow we will do a boot sale to try and shift the clutter. :goodvibes Happy furniture shopping :goodvibes

Cruise prep weekend for us. Lots to organise and a very little time to do it in. And some sunshine would be a nice touch to the weekend as well please as it is May!

Happy prepping... it's raining cats & dogs here today. I hope we get some good weather soon.

I haven't posted in a while, so first of all - WELCOME to all the new cruisers!! pixiedust:

second - there are currently IGT and OGT rates for the PC for THIS September, 2013 and I am so tempted to book it - but it comes back to Galveston, which is inconvenient for me. If it went to PC it would be booked by now!! Is anyone on here planning to do it?

Finally- my plans for the weekend? My DS Carter turns 6 in a couple weeks, but tomorrow we are celebrating with a swimming and rock climbing party - so 15 kids, mostly kindergartners, although not at the house of course, at our gym. So for now I have to go and make them goodie bags...

I'm in the planning stages with another cruiser to come into Paris for a few days and then go to Barcelona for three days before the cruise. What we haven't decided yet is how long in Paris, and whether we will stay near Disneyland Paris or in Paris itself. Then we'll take a plane to Barcelona. I think we'll use EasyJet.

As for the flight from the US, I am looking at booking a one way ticket using either 800FlyEurope or utilizing the SkyScanner site. One ways are not necessarily as much as round trips. You do need to have proof you are leaving the country (such as your cruise documents, etc.) when booking a one way.

Not sure about what to expect going from one European country to another. However, I suspect as long as you have the proper documentation it's pretty straightforward?

hello

Nothing exciting news here just that I got new glasses.....:cool2:

Also here the weather was awful, heavy raining all day.:(

If you fly with EasyJet, think of your bagage allowance. You have to pay for your luggage and you have to book it before you check inn. Look good at the terms.

Flying in Europe is easy. That wouldn't be a problem.

And for this weekend.
I'm now watching the Eurovision Song Contest. The Netherlands is in the final after 9 years and we have a great singer Anouk.
For the rest of the days (we have 2 days pinksteren, I don't know the English word) I don't know what I will doing.

We are watching also. I like the song from Denmark.
Good luck to the Netherlands. Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities in Europe. We have spent about 10 weekends there.
