Saw the older posts about how not all 37 travelers are participating in the thread. Just wanted to chime in on behalf of three more - myself (Lindsay), my sister (Leah), & my mother (Kathy). I'm the only one on the boards, but I rarely get on. I did a Podcast BSM tour back in Feb 2011 and had a fabulous time. I'm very happy to meet you all in a few weeks & for my family to enjoy the tour for the first time.

A THOUSAND apologies for being unsociable lately. There have been a few too many life events getting in the way of our all important trip planning I'm afraid BOOO! Anyway, Kat and I are now back in full-swing planning mood YAAY! and finalising some of our pre and post ABD activities

I'm also going to partly blame my lack of posting on living in London (that's a general kind of sucky) which, as Rory said makes chat nights damn near impossible. Rory, we share your pain mate. Funny story, I recently transferred from Apple to Android (still not sure how I feel about it) and starting to miss certain elements like being notified when threads get updated. Turns out my settings need tweaking somewhat as there I was thinking you were all just really shy not saying much on this thread! I logged in and there were like 30 pages more since the last time I looked!

I did a mass read through of previous posts at the weekend and SO excited about Steakhouse 55 - all ready to put our names down and then saw Pete's post about it being unavailable bummer. I'm still not 100% sure what we're going to do yet about the Catal/Carthay meal Pete, but wanted to come say hi and sorry for not being in touch. Whatever happens, a meet at Trader Sams and/or Mad T's for a get-together at some point sounds awesome. I just wanted to let you know your efforts in trying to co-ordinate this are appreciated

Aaaaaanyway, it's all starting to get VERY exciting once again with only 26 days to go and really looking forward to meeting everyone and gettin' this party started!

I think there's a lot of dissappointment about Steakhouse 55. It was such an easy consensus from the group I was sort of amazed. The remaining choices we are not seeing a strong feeling, but it does seem Catal is in the lead.

That puts us at between 10 and 13, depending on Melanie and Lori's decision.

Melanie, I'm going to try and sway you to join the group. You should choose Catal because:
(a) sure you won't have ordered off the menu at Carthay Circle, but you'll have just experienced it the night before and this will be a completely new experience,
(b) you can pick up a regular WoC fastpass that morning and
(c) you can eat alone with your husband any old time!

Hopefully you can let us know by tomorrow, cause I'm gonna make that call!

Thanks for being sweet & wanting us to join you at Catal Pete. We talked last night & I think we are going to do lunch at Carthay & do dinner at Flo's. I am hoping we can all meet up for the T party or a drink or something because I would like to see everyone that hangs around.

No worries - we will probably head over to the T-party after dinner as well, but can't say for sure. I think most of Friday Ulana and I will be wanting some "just us" time, but maybe after dinner will be up for it.

I actually just finished listening to the DIS goes West: Downtown Disney and Hotels edition, and listening to Pete (and Corey) RAVE about Catal after listening to Kevin RAVE about Catal makes me really happy with the choice if we can't get Steakhouse 55.

(We're going to do Steakhouse 55 for breakfast Saturday instead. However, I am NOT planning a group thing!)

Hey everyone. I called Catal and made a reservation for a party of 11.

I know Lori was undecided, but I figure it's not like if I make it for 11 and show up with 10 they won't seat us or anything.

I made it for 6 PM. They asked me I wanted indoor seating or outdoor. The outdoor seating is a second floor patio ovelooking DTD. As I thought about it, I thought this would be a good choice. Sunset will be close to 9 PM at that time, so it should be starting to cool off in the evening but not yet really cool. The outdoor seating would seem more festive for a larger party like us.

That said, if ANYONE is objectionable to the idea, I can call back and change it to inside seating. I do not have any problem with sitting inside!

Finally, while trying to find info about the patio - I found this review on the Disney Food Blog. Another Rave:
