Also--if all goes well tomorrow, we will be headed to AKL for our first stay Sept 25 - Oct 1 for free dining!

It'll be my husband and I and our very social almost 5yo son. Always up for vacation play dates

I am so excited!
I'll be at AKV Kidani in a 2 bedroom savannah view in just a little over 2 months!!

I will have my DH, DS- 15 (the day after we get there he turns 15), DS-12, DD7 , and DD-4and myself. We have lots of character meals booked and a schedule made- with the help of touring plans.

I'm still trying to decide if we want to splurge and go on the night vision safari.
I would probably take the boys. Trying to figure out when we can fit it in.

Also- I've searched but must have missed it- are the coffee makers the keurig kind or the Mr. coffee kind?

I love this thread- it's getting me even more excited!!

Sept 25-Oct 1 for Free Dining/Food & Wine in a Standard Room--hoping for a sprinkle of pixie dust for an upgrade, but content with whatever. Cheapest house in the best neighborhood

Next to decide on MNSSHP & to keep trying for a BOG ADR

One question--it used to be that we could request specific rooms/locations in a building/first floor/etc. Do I do that at online check in? Is it even an option? Even in a standard room we would be using the balcony and would prefer to be away from the smoking areas due to allergies/asthma...

Hooray! This summer (July 30-August 10) we'll be at WDW for the 3rd time. This will be our first stay at AKL. We booked pool view and requested a king bed. Anyone can give me how big the chance is to get that? And maybe have pictures of a king bed room? Thanks!

Just booked a Savannah view bunk bed room at Jambo House for August 31-Sept 2, after our Disney Cruise! Really wanted one of the Kidani 1-bedrooms, which is what we had last time visited, but I just couldn't justify it for such a short stay. Still very excited- have fond memories of waking up with my now 3-yr-old when she was 6 months at 3 am, and watching the ostrich outside our room while I cuddled her back to sleep!

Thank you. At first I was a little bummed about having to change and losing SAB (we had BC booked). I'm over it now, and am so excited about finally staying at the AKL. I've been bugging the DH about it since it opened, and he is just now caving.

I'm just wondering how I should word my room requests and in what order it should be in. We have a PV room booked. The DH wants the shortest walk to and from the buses possible and I would rather not be on the first floor.

3542 is lobby level and faces south over the people pen. I booked standard and got this.

2541 again is over a people pen and was standard booking..

I would request Giraffe Trail - That is where the Pool View rooms are that are closest to the bus stop.

My youngest DS wanted me to ask another question, and this one is about the pool. If you look at the Uzima pool on a map, on the right side of the pool there are what look like two pathways that go over water. The DS wanted to know if you are able to swim under those, to the water on the other side, or if the area of the pool you can swim in stops at one of the pathways.

The pool stops there (at both over the water walkways. ) You cannot swim under them.

Let's hope there are at least 2 pool view king bed rooms I think I would prefer a standard room with king bed over a pool view with 2 queens... That empty bed taking up space just bothers me
