Positive thoughts and Prayers for the 4 year old who almost drowned

Just thought I would share this Facebook update from Chase's family, some of you might be interested:

"We know our little Captain America has a long road of recovery ahead of him. The entire family has been feeling the power of prayer since Chase's accident happened but we would like to super size that power.

We are asking that you take a moment of your time tomorrow evening, Sunday the 21st at 7pm, to say a prayer of healing and recovery for our Chaser. Feel free to light a candle if you wish. We want to see the power of prayer in mass!"
(Its from today, April 20th)

Thanks Disneyqueendenmark for posting this. I just wanted to note that the prayer request is on Chase's Facebook page but hasn't yet been posted to his CaringBridge site. Time zone times as follows for Sunday's requested prayer:

8:00 Eastern
7:00 Central (Minnesota)
6:00 Mountain
5:00 Pacific

FYI my DIS friends....

They are selling "CHASE WARRIOR'S" bracelets on his facebook page for $5.00 to help the family.

Chase Lykken

I check the Caring Bridge everyday. He's making progress. Albeit it is slow, it's progress nonetheless ;)

Me too! I watch CaringBridge on my iPhone app and await each update. I place my comments on the guestbook there. I didn't want you guys to think I wasn't still watching out for him, I just don't come on here since I found out about the CB site. I bought 3 of the Chase Bracelets and proudly wear it daily.

We just got off the Magic yesterday and I have to say that Chase Lykken was with us all the way. Thoughts of him brought tears and smiles. I missed the daily updates but checked in when we got in range for service. He has profoundly touched our lives and I will continue to pray for him daily.

I tend to check Facebook as there are two different pages. The friends overseeing the fundraiser are also selling Chase t-shirts in a variety of sizes but it didn't look as if they were planning to mail them out.

Chase is making great progress in his reactive and reflexive skills! Good for him!! :)

My thoughts were of Chase when we boarded the Fantasy. I counted my blessings twice, and then...once more. Life can change in a moment.

This is very sad to look at. Oh dear...they are shown looking for him. And there are pictures of his mom with a firm grip on him too. So tragic. I feel bad for the family that this is coming out. It seems so personal. I don't know. If anything, it will help other families to keep an eye on the lil ones I guess.

:grouphug:

DH and I stood on deck 12 looking down at the Donald pool. We are not surprised, that no one saw him on the bottom.

I would think, surveillance footage shows, how he ended up in the pool. Missing for 7 minutes, but thought to be with his brother and sister...so tragic.

Poor Chase. This story is very sad.

I do want to make a comment, though. From the looks of those photos, the pools are not THAT crowded. Honestly, they were at least that crowded (and really, more so) on the cruise we went on last year. I was expecting people to be shoulder to shoulder in there, and it wasn't like that at all. I'm very surprised that Chase was under water for an estimated 6 minutes before anyone noticed.

This story is a tragic reminder that you cannot let little ones out of your sight/reach in this kind of situation. Sad, but true. Not trying to judge, but when your child is 4, you get IN the water with them, even in the Mickey Pool. Watching from the sidelines when there are that many people is a bad idea.

I may be remembering it wrong, but i don't think so. I read a first hand account, that when he slipped away from them and they realized he was gone, they were frantically searching for him. They were never just watching on the sideline.

I've cruised twice with my DD4...I don't understand how he was able to "slip away" like that, and end up at the pool? The only time my daughter wasn't with me was when she was at the kids club.

Don't get me wrong, it's tragic and horrible and I can't imagine the heartache they are going through; but at the same time, I hope a little good comes of this in that parents pay far more attention to their kids, especially in a place where water is easily accessible to everyone.
