Is breakfast included in your room price, or do you have to pay for it seperate? We are staying at the art of animation resort if that helps

No breakfast is not included, all rooms at Disney are room only unless you purchase the dining plan.

Unlike DLRP breakfast is not included in your room rate at WDW.

However food at WDW is considerably cheaper in my experience that DLRP

If there are a few of you, breakfast at WDW can soon add quite a bit to your food bill. We get cereals, fruit, milk etc for the room and grab a quick bite before setting off and buy a cooked breakfast or go out for breakfast every now and then.

We has a fridge at POFQ and CSR, do you get one at AoA?

We will be staying at AoA and will be getting milk and cereal for some days, others we will be driving down to Denny's or similar where breakfast is cheap and filling

Hi, I've read and responded to some of your other posts, so forgive me if you've read my other responses and I'm repeating the same things!

I would suggest that you consider getting a price for both AofA and CBR (Caribbean Beach) and then make a decision on where to stay when you have prices for both. The reason for that is that if you stay at Caribbean Beach, the price will be slightly higher, but you can get the free dining plan. This would include your breakfast, dinner, a snack and a refillable resort mug for your entire stay. The cost of the holiday will be slightly higher but you will have all of your food paid for which will cost you less in the long run.

Depending on your dates, CBR probably won't cost too much more. There is no reason why you can't go visit AofA and eat there on your free dining plan (if you want your little one to see it) but you will get a better standard of room and free dining by staying at CBR. If you get a price for both, it will give you an idea of what will be best for you.

DOn't tell Thomas Cook you have the FF vouchers until after they give you a price! Once they know you have them, they know you have no choice but to book with them and they may not give you their best price!

Yes, if you get free dining, you will get 2 meals and a snack every day. It will essentially mean you have an all inclusive type deal. It will be a little more, but you won't have any food costs (or very little food costs because you might want a character meal or something). If you have any questions, feel free to send me a Private Message and I'll be happy to help. WDW is a VERY different beast to DLP, but we have done both and also Disneyland.

You could also go on to the WDW website and put in your dates to get prices direct from Disney to compare to. You could then use your vouchers for a fly/drive and book direct with Disney for your stay. There are lots of options open to you, but I really would consider going for a moderate resort to get the free dining deal. YOu also get a free $200 spending money gift card if you book direct with Disney, so if you use your vouchers for a fly/drive and then book the rest with Disney, you will also get some spending money into the bargain!

That way youre not restricted to ordering certain things, eg getting desserts, personally I prefer starters. Sometimes the meals can be shared but with the dining plan, a few places will not let you share a meal.
Theres some great foods & breakfasts that can be shared easily.
Theres 3 of us and we usually get 1 breakfast and a breakfast sandwich and split it between the 3 of us.
Some people take cereal and buy milk, you get a fridge in your room.

Great point! The portions of food at WDW are HUGE compared to the offerings at DLP, you can EASILY share a meal with a 5 year old. We usually get 2 breakfasts between the 3 of us and don't always manage to eat it all.

If you can book before the current deal ends and get free dining, it will save you a lot of money in food costs.

I would look at a moderate resort too as the dining plan is great to have free. The moderates do vary in price so have a look at them all and see what looks best for you

I've just done mock bookings for you for those dates 2014.

AoA is £1613 with no dining plan, you can add the QSDP for £517.72 or the DP for £755.72. That includes your 14 day tickets & $200 gift card

CBR is £2230 with the QSDP free, upgrade to the DP £238. That also includes your 14 day tickets & $200 gift card.

The benefit of the DP over the QSDP is that it includes table service meals (character meals) but you don't NEED to upgrade.

DP is Dining Plan (This is 1 Table Service Meal, 1 Quick Service Meal and 1 Snack per person per day)

QSDP is Quick Service Dining Plan (This is 2 Quick Services Meals and 1 Snack per person per day)

CBR is Caribbean Beach Resort it is a moderate level hotel (Art of Animation is a value resort).

To get free dining plan, you need to stay at a moderate (you get quick service plan) or deluxe (you get the dining plan)

If you have any questions about it, please don't hesitate to ask. I know how confusing all this can be if you've never done it before.

Ultimately, the choice is yours and I would never tell you what to do because that is not my call, but I think you need to read a little more about each of the resorts so that you can be clear about what each can offer you.

From a purely financial perspective, $200 is £130 of free spending money. But it's not just a financial decision. Caribbean Beach is just as much fun as Art of Animation and has better facilities which is why it is a moderate level hotel not a value.

There are no "vouchers" you have meal credits attached to your card which also serves as your tickets and your room key. I think you will be surprised by the meals and I'm sure your son will enjoy the food. WDW is not like DLP AT ALL. I can't stress that enough. People think that they are the same and that WDW will just be like a big DLP and that's not the case. DLP isn't even owned and operated by Disney, it's a completely different experience.

I like Art of Animation, but in your position, I would definitely consider the step up to a moderate. Caribbean Beach is the cheapest, but you may prefer Coronado Springs or one of the Port Orleans resorts. My suggestion would be for you to gather some more information about the resorts so that you know more about the differences between resorts. It really isn't just £101 more for the gift card, it's £101 more for a better hotel, bigger room, more facilities, a gift card and often less crowded transportation services.

Every hotel has its own theme and is fab, im sure youll enjoy wherever you stay
The AoA room would be a Little Mermaid one, wouldnt it?

youre not paying £100 extra for the $200 gift card as youll get the free quick service dining too. Its 2 counter service meals and a snack each per day.
personally id upgrade resorts to get the free dining-even if it is just counter service, that will save you so much money. you can use the counter service credits to buy meals, there are so many choices-even for picky eaters.
youll also get snack credits to use-these can be used for so many things eg sweets,drinks,ice creams,popcorn etc.
If you get the free dining, Id suggest looking at the Dining section of the forum. you can get ideas of the types of food you can get.

However its totally up to you. It sounds like youve got your heart set on AoA.
