Alrighty then...

My hubby and I are going to Disney next year to celebrate our third year anniversary and we're trying to decide on a resort.

I have stayed at Coronado and Carribean. I love Carribean but wasn't really wowed by Coronado. Hubby has only stayed at Carribean and he also loved it.

Now that were going back we have a few options....
Please tell us what resort you think is best and why. We're thinking Moderate and Value resorts only please.... unless we win the lottery. :)

Extra info... I LOVE THE CHEESY VALUE RESORTS THEMES, but hubby hates them. lol

Thank you so much!

We're planning spring 2014 at Art Of Animation. Newer & just seems fresher than other Value resorts. Just my opinion.

I would stick with the moderates. If you love Caribbean stay there. Of all the moderates I would pick that as well. For me it offers the best theme and location.

We haven't stayed at any of the values and have only stayed at one moderate (CBR) and we loved it. If you liked CBR, I would stay there again. If you want to try something new, POR looks like a beautiful resort and has a lot of followers here on the boards. With that said, POR would be my choice for another moderate stay. Good luck and happy planning :).

Thanks guys! I would die for Art of Animation but the hubby is just not into the themes. What about Poly? Anyone stayed there?

If you want to try a deluxe but can't afford it unless you win the lottery (sounds like my way of thinking) you could try and rent points. That's what we do. There is no way I could afford a deluxe stay at Disney prices but if you rent points it brings it down to the cost of a moderate. You could check out the DVC rental thread. Just a thought. Otherwise if you love CBR, I'd stay there again.

Ok seems CSR is out but you think there may be unknown advantages over CBR? Can't help ya with that, but think about how great it would be to have a boat ride from the Port Orleans (both POR & POFQ) as a means to get to Downtown Disney. PLUS, and Walt loved to plus it, the POR is within a romantic stroll to POFQ so it is like a 2 for 1 sale. Finally, the travel time chart in Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide shows shorter travel times for the PO pair to the most destinations. If you drive your own car, it always beats the bus travel time. Study the maps.

On the other hand, there are no Pirate rooms at the other moderates. Have you stayed at South Trinidad yet?

I want those beds!

2003 & 2010 AOTEAROA garden view with the monorail gliding by our balcony door. Total magic! But I thought the Delux resorts were not of interest. We save up until we can book a monorail resort. Never mind the theme factor. It is super romantic. The motor launch beats the monorail option for a return from the MK. It's dark with fantastic twinkley lights on the waves with maybe a cooler night breeze to prompt a snuggle...ROMANTIC! The winding pathways of geeee-orgeous tropical flowers and greenery dimly lit with piped in cricket sounds on the walk from the TTC after a night at EPCOT...rrrrrrrOmantic. Walking to the wedding chapel...romantic. All the fantastic ADR options...big R. Tonga toast. Ok maybe not romantic...for you.
