Kermit & Miss Piggy take on 10 Days of Delicious Disney Dining! Updated 7/15 IM BACK!

I am in!:thumbsup2 Looking forward to your reviews!

Glad you are here! :cheer2:

Great start. Looking forward to your Riverside Mill review as considering a stay at either POR or POFQ next year.

We really enjoyed POR, it is HUGE though. We were in the royal rooms (Oak Manor) close to the pool and main building and the walk was still long to me. But then again I am Miss Piggy, not a huge fan of walking :rotfl2:

For the record, I do Zumba, so I'm not a total pig lol :)

Joining in! I know what you mean about Dunkin' Donuts. In Canada we are like that with Tim Hortons. I live in a small town and we have about 6 shops here. You can't turn the corner without seeing one :thumbsup2

We have Tim Horton's here (Maine) too. I am not a huge fan of their ice coffee as I feel it always melts the ice and waters it down :headache: I do like their hot coffee and iced caps though!

Signing in and looking forward to reading the rest of your report popcorn::

Thanks for joining in! :thumbsup2

I love the irony that "Miss Piggy" loves bacon.:lmao:

Can't wait to read about your trip!

Yes I do, and ham and sausage too :rotfl:

looking forward to your report!!

:woohoo: Thanks for reading!

:cool1: Sounds like you had a fun time. :dance3:

We had a great time, but often wished for a Fairy Godmother to come and watch the kids while we just went to the parks for a few hours! pixiedust:

" I'm pretty sure the people around us were drinking by the end of the flight too :rotfl2: "

Milk just came out of my nose - do ya think that I liked that part of the post lol ?!?! :rotfl2:

Am totally on board with your trippie !

HAHAHAHA I suppose you can relate then :thumbsup2

Thanks for joining in! :cheer2:

Joining in !! Sounds fun .... aside from the screaming muppets of course. The only screaming muppet that is acceptable is Animal. Rough to fly with little ones though.

Looking forward to your reviews !!

We landed about 12:30pm and boarded DME for POR. By the time we made it there and checked in it was already 2pm! We decided to grab some lunch at the food court before finding our room.

When we got there we were all starving, and how does a 3yr old Muppet show his hunger? With a tantrum of course! He was very upset because he picked a two top table next to the garbage for us to all sit at, how sweet. I tried to calmly explain that I didn't want to eat my lunch (and first Disney meal!) smelling rotten salad and cheeseburgers. So we walked over to a four top by the window. In his mind that garbage table was the best table in the world and we were just too blind to see it and too mean to let him have his way. So he staged a sit in and gripped the bottom of the table, all the while screaming and crying. That's when the bad mom in me just wanted to walk away and pretend he is someone else's kid:tiptoe: But instead I got down on the floor and bribed him with what else? MAC AND CHEESE

So Here It Is....magic tantrum-ending orange pasta

Served with apples and grapes and he also got a 1% Mickey Milk to wash it all down

He dug right in and was QUIET :goodvibes Thankfully the baby coorperated through all the drama and let us eat our lunch in relative peace :thumbsup2

Riverside Mill is not unlike the other food courts in Value and Moderate Resorts where you have multiple stations to order from. The only plus side I see to this is the variety of choices it provides. The HUGE negative to me is the fact that I have to stand in multiple lines to get everyone what they want, then also stand in another line to pay the cashier. I had already stood in the "kids" line and brought the mac & cheese back to the table to sufficiently bribe the 3 yr old. I then went back up and really wanted to get a make your own salad, but that line had 15 people in it and was moving slower than the Soarin' Stand By line. Kermit said he wanted a sandwich so I hopped in that line and brought back two for us to share.

Turkey Sandwich on Focaccia with Chipotle Mayo, Provolone Cheese, Lettuce and Tomato

This was pretty good for a turkey sandwich. I would of liked more sauce but it was overall yummy. The hand made chips that came with it were really good though and a nice alternative to fries.

Next up was a Beef & Blue Sandwich on Ciabatta. We got pasta salad on the side for a little something different.

This was pretty good too. We also thought it could of used more sauce and it definetely had too much bread but the meat was well seasoned and juicy. It was cooked about medium well so I was surprised that it was so tender.

Here's a shot of the Beef and Blue with the Pasta Salad shown as well. The pasta salad wasn't that great. The dressing was very lacking in flavor, a theme we discovered for many salads we had during our trip.

We Also got a snack for later. This is one of the few healthy snacks we got for ourselves, you can tell it is early in the trip before we throw all caution to the wind!:rotfl2:

Can't really go wrong with carrots & celery with ranch to dip. I am glad Disney offers many healthy options for snacks (ya know fruits, veggies, and CUPCAKES) They were fresh and yummy by the pool later and went nicely with this refreshing "snack" mommy needed after the dining room tantrum.,,,

Miss Piggy decided to pair the healthy carrots & celery with a reduced calorie drink option, the "Skinny" Coconut Mojito from the Muddy Waters Pool Bar. I am usually a beer and shots kinda gal (classy I know) but this was really good! It was just what I needed to start relaxing in the Florida sunshine :sunny:

Continued in next post....

After having a great time by the pool (Such an awesome pool area! LOVED the little kids splash pool) We were supposed to head to DTD and eat at T-Rex. We decided we were just too beat to think about lugging the kids there and back. I was really looking forward to riding the boat down the river, and was actually one of the reasons we picked POR for part of our trip. But at this point we knew the kids just wouldn't last. We decided to give the kids a bath and then head back down to the main building to check out Boatwright's. We looked at the menu and just decided we weren't feeling it and didn't feel like shelling out $30 for an entree that we weren't thrilled with. So we headed back to the Riverside Mill. It was about 7:30pm and it was PACKED. The boys grabbed a table while I went to fight the crowds. Again I wanted a salad, and again the line was impossibly long. So I instead waited in the kids line for pizza (Robin had been begging for it since the pool) and then picked one other line to wait in.

Here's the kids pizza meal

I seriously waited in line for fifteen minutes just for this little pizza! Oh well DS really liked it and was happy with his grapes, apples, and milk again.

I then moved over to the grill line and got Kermit a Pulled Pork Sandwich! WHAT THE WHAT?! Miss Piggy, how could you order up your cousin??? Because he was delicious, that's why! :rotfl:

It was served on Texas Toast with coleslaw on top and fries on the side. I picked up some extra BBQ sauce since I learned my lesson from lunch time. Kermit seriously loved this, well of course he did, he loves him some pig :lovestruc

I went with a Char Grilled Cajun Chicken Sandwich

I only got this because I didn't want to wait in another line. It was just a regular chicken sandwich, nothing special but nothing terrible. They had the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles next to the grill line. Many people walked right by it because it wasn't very well lit. The grill line was also incredibly slow since they grill your food when you order it (there was only one cook working for the first 10 minutes!) I clocked my wait time as 20 minutes. By the time I got through the cash out line and to the table it was 8:15pm! I was surprised Robin hadn't thrown another crazy tantrum, but the staff was actually doing little Mardi Gras activities with the kids to keep them busy :thumbsup2

We chowed down quickly so we could get to bed early for our first park day!!!! DHS and MK :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Up next Catalina Eddies and the coveted ADR at BOG!!!!

Yeah now that I think about it...DS should have been nicknamed Animal! :rotfl2:

I am in!!

:welcome: thanks for joinig in!

Joining in!

:thumbsup2 thanks for following along, fellow BLT owner :)

Joining in to follow you! I'm in Maine as well and my birthday is in April too! popcorn::

Awesome! A fellow Maina! Also :bday:

Signing on...this looks like it's gonna be fun! I just LOVE how DS was clinging to the garbage-can-table leg!

You and Kermit made some adorable little muppets, btw....so the next time Robin/Animal decides that the table right-next to the men's bathroom is the best table in the world, I think you should sit there. In fact, move the table INTO the bathroom if you really want to make him happy. ;)

Thanks! He would probably live that, my hubby would have to take him in there though...then I could eat in peace! Lol

You have a beautiful family and a wicked sense of humor. I look forward to following along. You are one awesome mommy waiting in line for everyone! (And I say that because I have to do the very same thing!

I'm dying. You are so funny!!! Love the garbage table story. The kids are cuties!

:thanks: You know that if I sent DH to the lines though, he would come back with something completely different then what I asked for and I would be :scared1: Once I sent him to the grocery store when I was pregnant for Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Milk, he came back with BEEF JERKY. He said he couldn't find Cinnamon Toast Crunch (in the grocery store...) and he remembered I really wanted steak the other day.....:confused3:confused3

Thank You! I've learned that trying to reason with a 3 yr old gets you no where, except to the bar later that evening :rotfl:

The food courts can be so stressful sometimes, and I don't even have kids!

I have a deep contempt for them now that I have children. The kids line is always the longest too...I mean just scoop the mac & cheese and move people!!!

Joining in. Great report so far! :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Our First park day, the "park commando" Miss Piggy was leaking out (just a little) and so we made pre-rope drop at DHS and had a very full morning. We managed to ride TSM twice, see Voyage of the Little Mermaid, see Disney Jr. LIVE!, meet Lightning McQueen & Mater, and do the Animation Class all by 11am. After all that we had FPs for ToT and RnR and wanted to eat somewhere close to those rides. Since Robin takes 45 minutes to eat 1/2 a hot dog, we figured neither one of us would lose too much patience if we got to scream our heads off a little in between his bites :thumbsup2 We decided an early lunch was then in order on Sunset Blvd.

In case there's someone out there that is not familiar with these eateries, there are a few food stands that make up the Sunset Blvd area. They include Toluca Turkey Leg Co (guess what they sell), Rosie's All American Cafe (Cheeseburgers/Chicken Nuggets), Fairfax Fare (Gourmet Hotdogs/Ribs/Rotisserie Chicken), Anaheim Produce (Fruits/Veggies/giant pickles) Hollywood Scoops (ice cream) & Catalina Eddie's (Ceaser Salad, Pizza). The seating is mostly covered, but is outside in the elements.
I kind of wanted to try one of the hot dogs but decided I would #1 probably want Casey's later on in the trip and #2 I was only waiting in ONE line today. Since Kermit requested a Chicken Ceaser Salad Catalina Eddie's won out.

Here's the salad he wanted

It was just ok, although I asked for the dressing on the side and they obviously disregarded that request. I didn't feel like waiting for a new one either, which Im sure they would have made if I had asked. We ended up sharing this and both of us thought the other got all the chicken because we both only had 2 small pieces in our half. They mix the chicken in the lettuce, instead of putting a nice grilled breast on top, I think they try to get away with less meat this way.

I also got the Hot Italian Deli Sandwich with a side of chips

This was also just ok. Lots of bread again, although the bread was pretty good and toasty. The cheese was nice and melty and it did come out still warm.

For Robin we got him the Uncrustables Meal

He loves PB & J and he ate about half of it. He scarfed down the carrot sticks & dip (they have ranch at the condiment station here, score!) and the cookie/milk combo of course. They also gave me a kids applesauce since I was wearing my birthday button (gee thanks, where's my CUPCAKE) but it was a nice gesture and we saved it for a snack for later.

The heat was catching up to us though from eating outside. Once we both got back from our rides, we decided to go back to the room and take a break instead of sticking around for the 11:45am Beauty and the Beast Show.

Besides, I wanted to be well rested when I met the Beast!

Coming up...BOG for dinner :lovestruc

Signing on! Really enjoying your report and sense of humour. Oh, and the food porn doesn't hurt either, LOL! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to reading about your BOG experience! :goodvibes
