I feel like it got back to the start of Criminal Minds. Psychological, emotional, but not gory. There's been a number of episodes like that this season. It makes me happy.
Yes, the show is called Criminal MINDS, not Criminal GORE.
It's kind of ironic. Mandy Patinkin left the show, using the excuse that it was because the show was getting too violent & gory. Then the show goes on to prove him right.
Meanwhile, he has moved on to bring on Homeland, and his show wins multiple Golden Globe awards for best show. Mandy gets the GG's Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. And the whole ensemble wins the SAG Award for Best Ensemble. All of them this year.
I've never seen the show but it doesn't seem like they rely on gore to entice audiences or awards.
I'm still fuming that the first half of the season was so mediocre. It is so different from this second half. I wonder if the stars had been grumbling? That the possibility of losing a major cast member has woken the writers up to what made this show so great and are hopefully coming back to that?
