Criminal Minds -- DIS Official Thread 1 (SPOILERS!)

I feel like it got back to the start of Criminal Minds. Psychological, emotional, but not gory. There's been a number of episodes like that this season. It makes me happy.

Yes, the show is called Criminal MINDS, not Criminal GORE. :crazy2:

It's kind of ironic. Mandy Patinkin left the show, using the excuse :rolleyes1 that it was because the show was getting too violent & gory. Then the show goes on to prove him right.

Meanwhile, he has moved on to bring on Homeland, and his show wins multiple Golden Globe awards for best show. Mandy gets the GG's Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. And the whole ensemble wins the SAG Award for Best Ensemble. All of them this year.

I've never seen the show but it doesn't seem like they rely on gore to entice audiences or awards.

I'm still fuming that the first half of the season was so mediocre. It is so different from this second half. I wonder if the stars had been grumbling? :scratchin That the possibility of losing a major cast member has woken the writers up to what made this show so great and are hopefully coming back to that?

Not really into this episode. And I'm not a fan of the storyline. There are far too many women (in real life) who are raped that don't report it that it's borderline irresponsible to create an episode based on one that lied about it. I know it happens, but it's not what should be focused on when there are still so many women whose voices go unheard.

This "small town" episode reminded me of when the team went to Alaska to find the serial killer that hunted down locals because of a personal reason.

I get what you are saying. But, it as an interesting twist on the storyline. And unfortunately teens do lie to get out having to face their parents. I think this is the only time they've had this in a storyline. Whereas they had the women going serial killer because of postpartum or losing their kid, about 5 times.

True. I guess I just looked at it as not really being necessary that she lied about it. He could have easily snapped just because they took the money, not because of that AND lying about the rape. I just didn't think it was that important to the storyline. A twist sure, but a little unnecessary

But the parents took the money. Whereas his wife was the one that lied about the rape. So, instead of just being mad at her parents, her integrity was ruined by her own actions. Plus, her lying started whole chain of events which made him kill all the others. I kind of wonder if all the others involved (except the parents) kind of knew she lied about it and that is why they were so willing to keep quiet about it all.

The one thing that didn't make sense to me was that according to her mother, she changed after that incident and became another person. Come on? Really? That was a bit much.

Another rerun yet again this week.

But, in other news, Happy Birthday Shemar/Morgan!!! :bday:

He still looks yummy at 43!

Welcome to the CM thread. It's to die for. ;)

Read the first post. It tells which channels show many reruns for CM. Also, they tend to do marathon showing during holiday weekends. The next one coming up will probably be on Memorial Day weekend. You can tape a whole bunch that way.

Happy Birthday Shemar!! :dance3:

After tonight, we have all new episodes leading up to the two hour finale on May 22nd! :cool1:

NEW episode tonight!!!

This one was directed by MGG, so it should be interesting

Starting tonight we have all new episodes leading up to the two hour finale on May 22.

We're still waiting for an official renewal announcement, but everyone seems to think we're getting season 9. CBS announces their fall schedule on May 19, so we'll know by then.
