2013 Free Dining Watch

Amber, what have you done? :badpc:

Well, somebody's done something screwy. It all works for me, except of course for even viewing info about the summer discount, but it apparently doesn't work at all for a very large group of people.

It flabbergasts me that a company that is so renowned for customer service has such a terrible website. And this isn't just a recent problem. People have been complaining about their website since Al Gore invented it. :badpc:

The website maintenence was scheduled. It was posted on April 26 that it would be going down. Can't remember where i read it, though.

It always amazes me that a top notch, multi billion company like Disney can have such a terrible, inefficient website.

I agree. Although I just updated my MDE app on my iPad and it's showing my tickets for the first time (and my reservations are all there) so maybe that is some progress.

Two things:

If I sign up for this Chase Disney Debit - do you think they will be allowed to book FD offers on May 6th (3 days before GP?).

Also, I currently have a Sept. 1-7 res for LM rooms at AOA with the dining plan. Would it be best to have my Disney agent just switch my dates to 2-7 and stay at AOA? Or if there is a good chance we wouldn't get it...should we just have our res changed to POR? We were going to pay for the dining upgrade if we stayed at AOA anyway so staying at POR is only about $170 more for us. I just feel like its more of a "prize" to get a LM room with FD so wasn't sure of my chances. :)

I've never had an issue getting FD booked (did FD in 2009, 2011, & 2012) but reading these make me nervous!!

Which room are you looking at for POR? We were thinking of changing to POP if FD doesn't work out for LM. However, $170 doesn't sound too bad to upgrade to a moderate resort. We are only staying 5 nights, so it might be less for us.

The Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party dates were released this afternoon and go on sale tomorrow morning, May 1st. I know a lot of the September - December travelers have been looking for these dates:

2013 MVMCP dates: November 8, 11, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22 December 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20

Surprising the kids with a trip to Disney. First time booking in October. We have been going the last few years for Labor Day and have been lucky to get the Free Dining. I know last year my sister went in October and the Free dining was offered then also but I do remember the offer came out kinda late. I was wondering if they are expecting that it will be released again? If so, when?:mickeyjum

The October - December FD dates are not released annually until July, sometimes August

If it is offered in December I'd guess no later than the 13th (the 13th starts peak season). But who knows.
