June 15 - June 22 2013 Eastern Fantasy

I do thank you for the welcome and did go back after I posted and saw then that there was a time limit for signing up for the FE...but that just means I need to take another cruise after this one to participate then!! But I am looking forward to the Meet and Greet.....2:45 pm (1445 hrs for the military folks!) works well for me!

I will be staying up on this board to keep tabs on all the exciting information....

I do have a question....I was looking at the Disney Internships that someone earlier talked about...are those only for college types? Is there something for High Schoolers?

I signed both my kids...age 13 and 15, to the residential Sea World career camps this summer.....does Disney have anything like that (career camps) for kids who want to explore careers at Disney?...just asking......

Hello. This will be our second cruise. We went same month (June) last year for our first cruise going on the Western Caribbean and LOVED it. We signed up for this cruise while still on the last cruise. It will be me (I am 50 yrs old), DS who is 15, DD who just turned 13, and my mom, Grandma, who is...well....in her 70's. I am a widow so no DH....

We traveled last year and will again this year with my best friend who moved from Maryland (where I live) to just outside Disney World as she LOVES everything Disney. I am becoming that way too, I think! Nothing wrong with that!

My friend will have her DD who is also 15 like my son....in fact their birthdays are one day apart!

We will be having adjoining cabins for this Cruise and we are on the 8th deck.

I am trying to understand the FE. I have a picture of one and will show my DD it to see if she wants to work with me to make one. I think I will make one for my friend too! We saw a lot of things on some people's doors last June and I want to get in on more of that kind of activity to enhance the Disney Cruise Experience!!

My friend lives in Windemere, FL which of course is very close to Disney! We will be flying to FL on 13 June and stay in her house until 15 June. We will drive to the dock from her house on 15 June.....

I am only on page 40 of the posts so I am behind on where everyone's plans are...but I wanted to introduce myself!
:welcome: There are several teens in the group around the same ages. I believe they started a thread on the teen forum. The link may be in one of the later posts if they are interested in getting to know some of them. I have two DD's- 16 and 14 + DS who is 4. They, like most of us, love everything Disney and are super excited about this trip.

Looking forward to the meet and greet!

We are working on our FE gifts and I was wondering if someone could tell me what the GTY for the staterooms number stands for? This is only our second cruise and first FE....so we are new to this. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Thank you,
beach bums:)

GTY stands for "Guaranteed". DCL uses GTY status when most of the staterooms in a category is sold and Guests will then be assigned GTY status. These guests can not choose a particular stateroom but are guaranteed a stateroom at least the category they purchased or greater. A guest can purchase a cat 11A inside stateroom GTY and can be assigned an 11A or (pixie dusted) by DCL to a overview stateroom or even a verandah stateroom. When you are assigned GTY DCL can assign you anywhere on the ship and DCL will not change it if you do not like it. Some people do not like not having control and some people do not care as long as they are on the ship. DCL usually will assign the GTY status cabins anywhere around 50 to 30 days from the cruise but can assign it as late as embarkation day. For this cruise over on the FB page several fellow cruisers just learned of their cabin assignments. For the FE I will update the FE google spreadsheet as I am notified.

I have hesitated to post because I was not sure we would be able to really go due to DHs work situation, but I have finally booked flights, pre-stay hotels, and rental cars and it is starting to feel real! We are a family of 4 - myself, DH, DD19 and DS who will turn 16 on Father's Day. I am planning on booking the Bernards Tour. We are considering just going on our own and doing Blackbeards Castle on St. Thomas - has anyone heard about this? Also, does anyone know exactly where the ship docks in St Thomas?

So excited we are down to 7 weeks - just watched the Fantasy head out on the webcam.

:welcome: aboard the Father's Day Eastern Fantasy. Also please feel free to join our FB page as well. The link to the FB page is in the first post of this thread. NEWTOCRUISE has organized a group of us DISsers for the Bernards tour and we are getting a pretty good discount due to the size of our group. Please see the Bernards post earlier in this thread or on the FB page. If you have any questions regarding the Fantasy or the itinerary please do not hesitate to ask.

Hi everyone! This is our first Disney cruise and I was signed up for the Fish Exchange but did not realize I had to reconfirm our intent to participate at 75 days out. I hardly ever check my personal email so by the time I got the email my reply date had passed. My kids were really looking forward to participating and I have already gotten most of the gifts and had a fish extender made. I'm really hoping you guys will make an exception and please let me back in.

Sorry about the confusion. I know people were keeping a close eye on the final numbers in order to know what quantities to purchase, especially those who are making crafts as gifts and needed to order supplies. Perhaps people might agree to Tigger/Pooh4 adding you into one or both of the groups with the understanding that some of the participants may not have enough of all the gifts they've prepared for additional members at this point and will contribute anything of which they have sufficient quantity. :confused3

What does everyone else think?

Hey all! I got the confirmation from DCL for our private function application, and we are confirmed in the D Lounge for our Meet and Greet on Embarkation Day from 2:45 - 3:30. :)

Thanks for taking care of this Bobbi :)

I would agree to add jrcmpbl back to the FE group. This is a Disney cruise and in the spirit of Lilo and Stitch "Ohana, nobody gets left behind". Before I add her back, I need to hear more FE group members saying yes.

I vote to add them back in.

Thanks for the input, but are you even on our cruise? :confused3

I think the votes need to come from the people participating in the FE...

FYI, Flinng5 is on our cruise and in group A of the FE google spreadsheet.

Flinng5 and Staley98, thanks for your responses. :thumbsup2

Oops! Sorry for sounding so snarky! I saw the profile saying 1 post, didn't recognize the handle, and just scanned the list on the first post for the name. As I said, the votes should come from the people participating, so thank you Flinng5.

I totally understand if people have already planned on a specific number of gifts and are unable to contribute to ours if we are let back in. I am OKAY with that. Thank you all for even considering because this was my mistake!
