Our little thread of BIG Resort Changes~2013 Spring RC installment

MM Disney can be tiring and stressfull for us adults so it must be worse on younger kids I would think. My youngest was 9 the first time we went but we were only there for 4 days and there were only 2 parks MK and Epcot. WDW is so huge now it can be overwhelming. I find now the 5 nights/6 days is just about perfect and going twice last year for the short trips was great.
Have fun at BOG it is amazing and I don't think the girls will want to head home tomorrow.

I definitely wasn't insulted by their feelings. I absolutely respect their feelings. This has been their 4th trip in less than 4 years, so it was inevitable that they would at some point get overwhelmed. :goodvibes

I think our year long break will be good and they will be ready to hit it again! :cheer2:

They are both sleeping still right now....hopefully that will help too. :)

We are kind of shifting our focus to summer now! Summer in NH is fantastic, we've got beaches, mountains, and Red Sox games at Fenway, and the kids are looking forward to see what adventures summer brings. :goodvibes

Sounds like a great plan! And yeah...this will be my DS's 4th trip in 5 years? He loves it right now but I think next year's break will be good timing. And this year's AKL stay with a bit more laid back tone will help too.

hi guys :grouphug: I am thinking that 2013 is the year to forget for our family! When it rains, it pours...... I don't know if any of you heard about the accident on the M62 in Pontefract, England. 20 people injured, 8 critically. One of those in serious condition was my hubby's cousin's X who has two little boys -- their mom has multiple serious injuries. Praying for her recovery.
As if that isn't enough bad news, our Corrections staff/ Remand centre has walked off the job. We are in a state of emergency with the corrections staff , police have been called in and management had to step up to deal with the prisoners. They are on lockdown. my centre where I work (young offender centre) has left the centre with only 6 managers on staff to man the situation....the staff walked out to show solidarity to the neighbouring remand centre.....I don't know what I am going to do on Monday if this continues! I am admin staff, but I don't want to be stepping on toes or crossing any picket lines! I hope it's settled soon...,its getting crazier by the hour -- inmates locked up, no nurses in the blg, no Meds dispensed, inmates are starting to go crazy getting agitated after being on lockdown so long! Soon, it'll get worse and worse -- hungry, unmediated, violent offenders does not make for a happy situation! Fingers crossed things work out soon.
I hope you all are having a much better day than me, LOL!
love y'all, thanks for being here for me through all life's craziness this last few months!
:grouphug:

Hey ladies! I'm baaaaack! :wave2:

I'll try to catch up over the weekend between unpacking, :laundy: and kid's commitments. :rolleyes2 I probably won't be able to post pics till they go back to school.

I just wanted to say it was great meeting Mousemommy! :cool1: I hope you guys are enjoying your last few days :goodvibes

We had the absolute trip of a lifetime. I am so sad that it is over :(

Our vow renewal had a last minute change and was held over on Tom Sawyer's Island with BTMRR in the background. I was a bit disappointed to not get my castle pics, but it was wonderful nonetheless. The kids thought the scavenger hunt through the MK was the single best thing they have ever done at WDW. Well worth it! ::yes::

The Dessert Party was awesome. We got 3D glasses that made all of the fireworks look like hidden mickeys. So cool! The desserts were AMAZING (except for the creme brulee which was horrible! It tasted like chocolate pudding. I have no idea what happened there. :confused3) The view of Illuminations was to die for. I will totally be doing this again someday for another special treat. ::yes::

The parks were so uncrowded, the weather was beautiful and everything just seemed to go right! :thumbsup2

The big news.... we got the MOTHER LOAD of pixie dust! pixiedust: We were given the PRESIDENTIAL SUITE!!!!!!!! OMG. I can't even begin to explain how amazing it was. Two bedrooms, three bathrooms, full living room, full dining room, kitchenette, turret sun room, three balconies. Just the living space alone was bigger then the lounge! We did not want to leave! :hyper:

All in all, this trip will be hard to beat. Of course, it won't stop us from trying! :dance3:

I missed all of you! Can't wait to see what everybody has been up to! :goodvibes

Good morning all! And welcome to Benji!

So I slept on the couch last night from when DD went to bed (after I gave her a bath) until this morning about 6am. But I am feeling much better this morning! No more chills and now my stomach just feels empty. :-) (I didn't even eat dinner last night) my head hurts, but that could be due to the hunger issue as well...

Hope everyone has a good day!

It sure does sound like an amazing trip! And a fantastic upgrade as well, wow! pixiedust:
:3dglasses? Where do you get the 3D glasses? Are they only given out at the Wishes Dessert party? We decided to book it for August, never done it before.

Making some time to catch up with my RC family tonight :goodvibes Although I should disclose I had a heavy handed pour tonight :drinking1

We took advantage of living in South Florida today and got outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. I needed to pick up a pastry bag and tips at the cooking store which happens to be in a posh shopping/eating area today so we strolled around a bit, then headed to the nature center across from the beach, and finally ended the afternoon with a walk on the beach. Just a perfect Florida day :beach:

KOOK - since you will understand, our day was Mizner Park, Gumbo Limbo and a walk on Delray Beach :thumbsup2 I need to stop over on the CR thread, I know it got a little heated the other day. Sooooo, did I miss any RC'ing on your part :confused3

i_heart - I am so thrilled that every moment of your vacation was well, as the Bostonian in me would say, "wicked awesome" :goodvibes Congrats on the very magical upgrade and it sounds like besides the vow renewal being moved, everything was perfect!!!

Marie -I just dont know what to say, besides I am sending lots of  Since the phrase when it rains it pours doesnt seem to fit anymore, I will include you on what my friend and I have decided to call hurricane season  I really am praying for your family and hoping that something happens with the correction department by Monday

Candace - okay you said it, summers in New England....now I want to go to Attitash and Lake Winnipesaukee :goodvibes Okay, back to Dis, I cant wait to hear your full trip report. Your pics of BoG looked amazing tonight!!!!

Koh - how are you feeling? Better, I hope.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! :wave2:

Well....packing up after another wonderful trip!!! We leave tomorrow night when the ME picks us up at 6:25 pm. :upsidedow

Just like last time...it was a great trip, but we are ready to go home! Tomorrow will be busy as we plan to hit AK to ride EE one more time and then book over to DHS to ride RNR and TOT again before heading home.

We had a great night at MK tonight. Spent alot of time in New Fantasyland. I have to say...I love the new additions. I wasn't sure about how Enchanted Tales with Belle would be based on what I have read, but I'll tell you, it had my jaw to the floor a couple of times...and in tears when DD6 got up on her own to go meet Belle....she's usually so shy but could not give up that opportunity...especially after watching DD8 who had gotten picked for the show (she played the silverware :goodvibes ). It was just wonderful.

BOG was fantastic. The food, the theme, the service...all fantastic. Again, because of the people on the Dis, as eager as I was to eat here, I was kind of expecting a mediocre experience, but it was absolutely amazing. We are all in agreement that BOG will be a must do for us again next year.::yes::

Well, it's late, and we have a long day of park hopping and then travel back home...we won't land in Boston until about 12:20 am :scared:

More trip details to come on Monday while I do boatloads of dirty laundry!!! :crazy2:

 Safe travels home, Candace! I am so happy to hear your trip went so well, and it's wonderful you got to meet so many of our RCer family! Excited to hear all about your wonderful trip and where your next journey will take your wonderful family :) I hope we get the chance to meet one day :flower3:

I know you, it won't be long till you're planning Next Time :goodvibes

i_heart What a fantastic surprise! I am glad you had a spectacular trip. It sounds like everything went perfect! :wizard:

Marie You just cant catch a break this year. Still praying for you all.

Candace I am so glad you guys had a wonderful trip! It sounds like everything has gone well. I am so excited for our ADR at BoG in October!

I can now say 33 more days for us!!! I am so excited to get away for a few days. I am just so fed up with daily life and stress here. :furious: Work, family, everything just seems to be annoying me. The stress is making it much harder for me to lose this weight, which makes me more upset because I hate how I look...an endless cycle. :sad2: Ok enough of my pity party. I hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying their weekend.

Oh, one more thing. I was so happy to read that Cali Grill is slated to open in September. I saw kook post it tonight on the CR thread. I have never been there and I am so looking forward to it in October!

I'm not sure how a private party booked though a group would work. I think I would prefer the Wishes party if it was going to be with a group either way. :confused3

-------------

First attempt at catching up :flower3:

Dani
- Sorry you were having problems with your tooth. Tooth pain is so hard to manage! I hope you are fully healed ASAP!

Jenny - Sending positive thought on DD's chicken pox. I hope it is done and gone before the trip and that nobody else gets them.

Babyberger - Give Steven and yourself extra hugs from me. Getting meds right seems like a nightmare for all involved.

chimo - Wow! I am so sorry that your family has been hit so hard this year. Sending P&PTs that the lockdown situation is quickly resolved.

Mousemommy - Safe travels today. Enjoy your last day of hoppin the world! :cheer2:

wookie - Sending good thoughts on your school and meds issues. I hope you get everything ironed out right away!

koh - Feel better soon!

Miss - Are the 'rents still there? Everybody behaving? Sending good thoughts for all and happy b-day to Miss M! party:

I know I still missed a bunch. I'll try again later today :flower3:

Your ADRs are coming up soon though! That's exciting. I'm still working ours out for October. I did a bunch last night. I know it wasn't letting people do 180+10 online, but it let me do it last night so I took advantage of it! lol
