Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls tonigth .......

I'll throw out what I'm seeing at the moment.

Room only discount for travel dates between August 15 and September 28 with some exclusions. Available for booking possibly on May 9. I can't tell if this covers US residents but I think that may be the case.

Perhaps Danny will be able to fill in that gap soon, unless I can dig up more.

So call this tentative and possible for now.

Oh I hope!! May 9th is very soon....Thanks!

Anyone know if the Fort Wilderness Campground is included? Someone asked me and I had no idea. Thanks!!

I have a Disney Rewards Visa card. Do I need a code to be able to call for the FDP during the DRV advance offer?
Also, do you know if the royal rooms at POR are included in the FDP offer?
Thank you for all your help and info. For 3 adults & 1 child, your FD info will save us close to $1500. :woohoo:

Highly possible, they have released free dining and room only discounts at the same time in the past. It's been a couple of years since they released FD and room only on the same day, but it has happened :-)

No, you will need your card and you will have to put down a minimum $200 deposit/payment to have the DV FD discount applied to your reservation.

If the royal rooms are included, I would say they will be very limited - call early and have a back up room category.

Does that mean that the parks will be more crowded at the end of August this year because of the conventions? I am considering cancelling my trip all together due to this news. I have a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children - one which is over 10). The room-only discount doesn't save me much money. The "free dining" offer saves me well over $1,000 in eating. This stinks!

Thanks for the information though...where do you get it by the way?

DH, DM and I are taking my DD for her 4th birthday this year Sept 12-20. She is soooo excited (and so am I):cheer2:. She asks me everyday "Mommy are we going to Disneyworld today?" It is really hard to explain to a 3 yr old the concept of 4 months time, but I will be so happy when I finally get to answer her "Yes, we are!"

Any idea when we will know if the fd for Disney visa holders will definately be May 6th or not?

Also, thank you all so much for the posts on the fd offer :flower3:. I had been anxiously waiting to find out if they were going to offer it again this year for Sept, since it will save us ~$1400. YAY!!!

Sorta off topic but making a paper chain calender is a great way to teach little ones the concept of time. Have a great trip!

They didn't want a bunch of conference attendees all eating for free. Coronado is nearly sold out for the Mustang convention and another convention is going on at the same time over at wide world of sports.

Thank you so much for the update!! My luck they'd have 6-7 years of free dining and the year I REALLY needed it (and like a dummy kinda counted on it) they change the dates. But, a room discount will help! At this point, anything will allow me to go still!!!

This sounds awesome! I do have a question though. If you use a Cast Member discount to book the rooms, are you still eligible for the free dining? Thanks!

No, free dining requires paying full price for your room and purchasing a minimum two day base ticket for everyone in the room ages 3 and up.

If a room only discount comes out for the last part of September and ends on the 28th would I be able to get the discount for the entire trip if we check in September 28th or only for the 28th?

No. Room discounts are different. You would get discounts on only the portion of your stay that falls on the dates.

Room only discounts are good by the day, so I would expect that you will pay a non-discounted price after the 28th. It works differently than the dining package offers.

Just remember to do the math if you're going at a time when both promos are available. It all depends on resort and party size. Some folks save a ton more with free dining while others do better with room discounts.

Thanks for the information. We were hoping for free dining, but looks like we may miss it. Our travel dates aren't flexible. This is our first trip this time of year. We've always done late May. So we are excited!

Me too. The one time we were planning on going in late August, and had assumed FD would be in place, like the last 5 or 6 years, Disney pulls the rug out from under me and only does Sept. Ugh.:headache:

Actually it's been 9 years of August free dining, that's why so many people were shocked when August wasn't included.
