So Much To Celebrate - LIFE and Sophie Kate!

The pictures of Bella meeting Woody and Jessie are so cute, she seems like such a pro when it comes to meeting characters now! I just love her sweet smile :goodvibes

I'm sure Brooklynn will "out-tall" my dad. If I wear heels I'm taller than him. LOL:lmao:

I should try to make Tonga Toast. I look at the recipes but think, I'd rather have it at Disney first.;)

I'll have the Pineapple float :) although root beer floats aren't bad at all.:thumbsup2

I haven't done the Jungle cruise in awhile. I do remember that one time, I had a not so funny guide.

I loved the pics of Bella with Jessie and Woody. I'm hoping Bayleigh will want to start meeting the characters soon. She lives them from far away but not up close. The only exception are the princesses, fairies, and the other human characters. We'll get to see in a few weeks.

Aw Bella is like a pro now with the characters. Look at that smile.:cutie:

I would have been one riding Splash. My favorite!!:goodvibes

Ok if I HAD to watch the kids I would have.;)

Happy Friday.

She sure is! She does not hesitate any more.

Jill was sad to miss out on Splash, too, but she needed to feed Sophie. She says they didn't ride any of the mountains on the trip last week, so in December, she is owed a Triple Mountain Whammy. ::yes::

Well it looks like Bella is a pro at character meets now. Loving your report and pictures as always.

She is, so now we'll see how Sophie does with them. Right now she is too young to really be afraid of them. A better test will come on the next couple of trips.

Thanks for being here. It seems like I go in spurts. I have not had much DIS time this weekend.

im here a little late but looks like a great trip.

Never too late to add a new friend! :welcome:

Love that empty JC queue. Definitely taking my nephews there this summer. It's just such a fun ride.

And Splash - who doesn't love Splash.

Sophie is very well hidden there, isn't she?

We'll see if your nephews appreciate Jungle Cruise humor.

Yep, Sophie is in her own little cave under that thing. :thumbsup2

My humor mostly consists of corny jokes, so Jungle Cruise is the perfect ride for me! :rotfl:

Pirates is not my favorite either. :confused3 To each their own!

Do you see being a JC skipper in your future?

I like the Pirate gift shop better than the ride. :) I'm not really into Pirates at all, but the little boy cousins make me feel the need to stay 'up' on the latest Pirate-wise.

When we get hit with such sad news it's always nice to have somewhere to go to share with friends, and to talk about the good in our lives as well as the bad. My heart goes out to all those affected by the events in Boston.
What a pleasure it is to see sunny pictures of smiling faces, especially a confident little Bella posing with the characters :)
And the other little thing that made me laugh today - "Mingo? Where are you???"

Poor, poor Mingo. I feel the need to give him a shout out every time I am near the Treehouse. :goodvibes

Yes, it is nice to have family and friends to have conversations with as we work through trials and sad times. Our DIS family helps us remember that more days are good than bad, thankfully. It is hard to think about the people involved who are remembering today what they were doing this time last week.

Trying to get all caught up around here! Such a busy week!!! And so many "distractions" with the events in Boston, which are still unfolding! It looks like one has already received justice, and hopefully the other is soon to be located and this ordeal come to an end, even though I know for many affected people, it will be a long time before it ever comes to an end, if it does........ :worried:

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone connected to this tragedy in some way, and also for the safety of the law enforcement officials who are currently in harms way trying to bring this to an end! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Well said DWGal!! And so glad your cousins are fine!

My thoughts and prayers to you Megablocks and everyone else in the Boston area!!! I have travelled there many times and always loved exploring such a beautiful and historic place. I'm sure I have probably stood in the exact area affected by this tragedy so I definitely feel a kindred spirit! :lovestruc

On a happier note, :woohoo: for each of those! Would love to join in those meet and eat's!!!

Looks like a fun meet for everyone with Merida! You got some really good pics and the girls seemed to be so deeply engaged in what she was saying! :)

Oh I love watching Barbara's dance moves! She is always so happy! I guess Sophie hasn't learned to appreciate them yet...............:rotfl:

Uh, one of each please........... :goodvibes

:wave2: Pat! So sorry to hear about your co-worker and her sister!!!

She's famous for having lost a lot of weight too, right???

So many sad and tragic stories............. :sad1:

:faint:..........are you auditioning for the job as a guide??? :lmao:

I just love the Jungle Cruise! You are right...........so corny, but a definite classic that has to be experienced on a regular basis when I go........... :goodvibes

Let's hear it for PotC and Splash!!! Getting so many rides done!

Okay, does anyone know what happened to Jessie's neck? :confused3 She isn't like that in the movie............

Let us know when one of your trips overlaps with one of ours. We have a decent-sized group going during Christmas to New Year, so there will be food and fun. :thumbsup2

Yes, Barbara lost a lot of weight with her dancing.

Since I haven't had time to update until now, the Boston hunt is over. The report is that the young man is in such condition that they do not know if he will ever be able to be talked with - is that correct? Can you imagine being the woman who realized he was in her backyard???

The girls looked like they were having fun playing while waiting at Splash Mountain. When my kids were younger they loved playing on all the playgrounds at WDW. My husband would just shake his head and say we came all the way to WDW just to play on the playground, which we have one a block from our house. :goodvibes Of course the kids told him that we didn't have the ones like at WDW. They love the ones they setup in Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival.

Disney playgrounds are of course more awesome than a regular at home playground. :goodvibes It's nice to let the girls do some climbing up and sliding down at some point during a trip. I sometimes take them to do that while Jill and John might eat a meal in peace or maybe when they need to start packing up to go home or just when they've gone to the food court to pick up dinner to bring back to the room. It works out nicely for everyone - I spend time with the girls, they get to play, and Jill and John are kid-free to do what they need to do.

Stopping in to check on friends in the Boston Area.

So nice to see Bella smiling with the characters and playing hard in the playground.

I will be back in 3 weeks and I am looking forward to the break for sure.

No Disney happenings for us in May. You'll have to put plenty of pictures on FB or on the DIS.

So sorry you and Doreen won't be able to cross paths.

That darned MINGO!!!! I'm sure it's flown the coop and is probably in the Keys by now.....

Why in the world would parents allow their big kids to act up in a little kids play zone? You just have to wonder what they are thinking..... or if they are thinking at all.

The parents were standing around talking. At one point one of the moms gave a half-hearted 'You need to get down', but it wasn't heeded.

Just wanted to thank everyone, again, for all their kindness in offering their thoughts and prayers, and for those who posted on my Facebook that they were thinking of me and hoping everything ended soon. I truly love Distown and am so grateful to be part of it!

The last 24 hours were very, very nerve-wracking - the latest development happened two cities over from me and people in MY city, like my sister and my boyfriend, were awake and heard and felt the booms. My sister thought it was Tufts University students getting rowdy and setting off fireworks (we are just down the street from their campus.) This morning, I was more than halfway to work when I got a text at seven a.m. that we were closed. Entire cities were on lockdown and I am very, very grateful that it is over, and for the amazing jobs by all first responders and law enforcement.

Also keeping everyone affected in Texas in my thoughts and prayers; it sure hasn't been an easy week. :grouphug: Makes me super grateful for Distown!

We're just glad it is over now. There are probably more things like this yet to happen, though, and at any time, it could be any of our backyards. It is nice to have the support of friends from all over the world right here in DIStown. :)

Love Jungle Cruise!! One of my MK favorites!!

I didn't realize big kids were taking over the playground area!! There's so many areas for bigger kids to play, why not let the little ones have their space too??

So glad to see the craziness in Boston is settling down, and Meghan and so many other of our Boston-area friends stayed safe!! :grouphug:

I guess the big kids needed to run off some steam, too. They just needed to not do it on the roofs of the kiddie houses.

20 pages behind...now caught up!

MeMom returned from her trip, Bella had a birthday, Jill and the gang left and returned and a crazy week came to an end. In between I got to enjoy a little happy place which I am missing terribly and December just feels so far away right now. Thanks as always for sharing!

from the sound of things on FB, there is an impromptu Dismeet this afternoon. Wish I was closer!

No DIS meet. Dawn was booked, and Erica wasn't going to be near Opry Mills. Kim's daughter had a gymnastics meet. We still ate at Rainforest, though, and then we met some of our cousins at the park, so it was a very nice day. :)

What a week. What a month April has been. think we all need these trip reports to our happy place to help us in these times. Thanks MeMom!

BTW. Since I was in the hospital for my and my DD's birthday (we share) I have decided to reschedule for a quick WDW weekend for us, DS and one of her friends. I know she will want to take off in MK with her friend as they are teenagers but I will get to surprise her with a O'hana's Bday breakfast! So happy! Just hoping the health holds out for it to happen.

Yes - good health to you so that you can make the trip. That wil be much fun! We'll look forward to pictures.

The pictures of Bella meeting Woody and Jessie are so cute, she seems like such a pro when it comes to meeting characters now! I just love her sweet smile :goodvibes

She does have a sweet smile. She smiles big and shows lots of perfect little teeth.

I'm sure Brooklynn will "out-tall" my dad. If I wear heels I'm taller than him. LOL:lmao:

I haven't done the Jungle cruise in awhile. I do remember that one time, I had a not so funny guide.

We've had guides who were less than wonderful, as well. I'm sure saying the same thing over and over must get boring pretty quickly.

Tonga Toast really is best when eaten at the beautiful Polynesian Resort. :thumbsup2

I loved the pics of Bella with Jessie and Woody. I'm hoping Bayleigh will want to start meeting the characters soon. She lives them from far away but not up close. The only exception are the princesses, fairies, and the other human characters. We'll get to see in a few weeks.

Brooklynn actually was a little more shy with face characters than with masked characters long ago. I think she was trying to figure out if she was supposed to know these 'people' as opposed to the big-headed characters just being a real novelty all the way around.

When the Mountain riders returned, we got on the train.

in person,
I hope you will get to have a fall Disney trip to do so one of these days.

Do you think they've done a pretty good job at staying true to this thought?

The almighty fountain. Woo Hoo:cool1::cool1:

It looked like a gorgeous day. Wish I was there right now.

Sad that I missed you guys yesterday. Abby did great in her competition. Not that she placed high, but she worked hard and had a great time.

LOVE your Wilderness Lodge photos !! We stayed there for a week last September and we really loved it !!

An MK Train ride and a stop at the Wilderness Lodge -- lovely! I wish I was in one of those rocking chairs right now having my Monday morning coffee.

Love the update this morning.

Beautiful pictures of WL.:thumbsup2

Really love seeing the Pop pics as 2 weeks from today we will be checking in!!

Love the WL pics! We are staying in the WLV for a few nights during our Dec trip. Can't wait! :)

You are coming in July, right?

LOVE your Wilderness Lodge photos !! We stayed there for a week last September and we really loved it !!

We stayed there for two nights at the end of a Pop Century summer trip. It is so pretty, and it was very relaxing.

But I'm guessing you might rather be in an AKL rocker with your coffee? ;)
Every time I see Disney pictures, I want to be there again. I could spend days just going from resort to resort soaking in the atmosphere, listening to the music, seeing the pretty landscapes, and eating the good food! :thumbsup2

We get ever more excited for you as the days roll by! :dance3:

Love the WL pics! We are staying in the WLV for a few nights during our Dec trip. Can't wait! :)

Glad you enjoyed the pictures. The sitting areas over in the Villas are so cozy. I'd love to be sitting around a fireplace there on a cool winter's night just talking with my family and friends.

The Wilderness Lodge is so pretty. So how did your wishes turn out so far?

Well, those were October wishes. One person has since begun the adoption process after waiting two years, so I will take that as being successful. :) And it worked for tinkgurl. :goodvibes We'll see what happens with the most recent wishes made in March. We don't have as many readers as we used to have, so if DIS baby numbers are down, I don't think we can blame it on the fountain. I think it's more that people have gotten bored around here and gone on to other things.

***************************************

Just wanted to take time to acknowledge those of you who have been going through weather-related issues such as flooding and snow. So sorry that you are having to deal with this still, when others of us are having beautiful spring weather. I think I missed the worst part of our spring weather while I was gone to Florida. (Thankfully, it began to thaw out right after I got back, but I heard many stories of a cold and not so fun spring break from friends here.) Things are green again, and trees are full of white and pink buds. There is much allergy-related misery going around now. Still, I deem that better than flooding and snow, so I just wanted to let you guys know we are at least thinking of you. If everybody moves south, I don't think it will make the planet tilt, so come on down where it is warm! :cool1: It was so nice today, that I took my kids outside to eat their lunches, and then we had popsicles. :mickeybar

Congratulations to Abby! I saw her picture on FB.
You are coming in July right]

I am so embarrassed but I can't remember what the exact July plans are :rolleyes1

I know it was discussed but forgot to put details in my calendar. Please share again :)

July 6th at Opry Mills. Anita and Marc will be in town, and Dawn is pretty sure she is coming. Hopefully Erica will come, too, even though she doesn't DIS any more. Jackie and Heather are 'maybes', and some others from the area are, as well. We have even had a few from further away that said they might make a mini-trip of Nashville that weekend. :thumbsup2 The time part is completely negotiable. It can be pretty much any time for us, so we'll go with what is best for the majority.

Good Tuesday morning! I just love the WL. We have never stayed there, but I love going over to explore the area. I need to stay at VWL now that we have DVC. I hope everyone has a great week. I have work, Little League baseball this week. I am off work Friday for my birthday so I am happy!
