Tell Me The Good And Bad About Caribbean Beach

I am unexpectedly staying at CBR next week and have never been there. What do you like or not like about it?

Pros: it's fun. I loved the theming and the beaches to lounge at. It was nice to have 2 dining options there including a sit down place.

Cons: the last time we were there, we were in the Trinidad building. It was one hell of a hike from food, pool, etc. 20 minute walk. It was nice and leisurely, but not so fun when you're exhausted. The buses do stop along each building (at least the last time I was there they did) and they had one that ran from the club house to the buildings, but it was a LONG wait...long enough that you could've walked there.

It's been quite a few years since I've stayed there though so I don't know if any of the cons have changed. I did love that resort and would stay there again, but that hike is a huge, exhausting deterrent.

That is exactly what has stopped me from staying there in the past.

That is wonderful! No cons for a trip to WDW next week pixiedust:
We always enjoyed our stays at CBR. We stay in the Jamaica buildings. Nice walk across the bridge. Never had any issues with bus transportation. The landscaping is lovely:thumbsup2

It is a beautiful resort. The main pool is fun and the quiet pools good for relaxing and reading. I enjoyed the outdoor bar too. A nice option is having either food court or sit down dining.

I thought the building I stayed in was a long walk but relieved it was not as far as the others. I was across the bridge and down a few units. The busses did seem to take a long time to get around all the stops. This would not be my first choice but, if the price is good, I would stay here again.

When you check in just look at the map and ask for a closer room if they try to assign you far away.

That's how I'm looking at it. Even if is is bigger than I would like, Im at WDW, I can't complain. :)

Bad: It's the only moderate resort with full-size beds. To quote Sweet Brown, "Ain't nobody got time for that."

I stayed there twice, thought it was nice. Once in Martinique and once in Barbados.

I think Trinidad South is now the pirate rooms? Not sure if all.

Last year, we stayed at the CBR. We enjoyed it for the most part but learned a few valuable lessons.

*Get a preferred room. We did not do this thinking we would save the extra money. Our room was far from everything: the pool, laundry, food court, and the closest bus stop was still far away. We are going back this year and definitely spending the extra for a preferred room.

*Something that I haven't seen mentioned is this resort has NO Elevators! We had a 2nd floor room and at the end of a long day we could barely make it up the steps.

*Food Court was decent. Many choices. Nothing to brag about. The kids enjoyed it because it had chicken.

*The beds seemed like they were a queen size bed instead of a double.

*We enjoyed staying there and learned some valuable tips. We are headed back to Disney this June. We considered staying here but decided we wanted to try somewhere we haven't been yet. So, we chose Port Orleans Riverside.

Pros: It is a very beautiful, and very peaceful resort. The hammocks on the beaches are great for a bit of relaxation during a crazy busy vacation.

Cons: Too big. Too many bus stops. Too long spent on the bus driving around the resort after it picks you up. Food court is probably the worst out of all 4 moderates, imho. Cell phone service was impossible unless you left the room, and walked out onto the beach. Even the ever invincible I-Phone wouldn't work in the room, or near the room.

Even so, I'm sure you will have a great trip. It wasn't my favorite resort, but if I had to stay there or not go to WDW, I would stay there again.

there was a connecting door in the room we had and we heard EVERYTHING that went on next door, including the child at 6am who was so excited about her day that she talked on and on really loud and this happened every morning for 3 days until they checked out....we tried pillows and towels around the door but it didn't help.....

otherwise its a nice resort....just make sure you don't have connecting doors in your room!

have fun we are going to be at the Pop resort starting Friday the 19th

LOL! We had that situation at the Poly once...only it was a screeching infant in the morning. :faint:
You have a great trip too!

The wall thinness seems to be an issue at all the resorts, I had a similar issue at YC last year! Except it wasn't just a screaming kid, the parents screamed at each other louder than the kid!! Morning, noon and night. I had to get my room changed, I couldn't sleep!

Pros: Gorgeous and peaceful resort

Cons: Lots of walking depending where your room is.
