Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

You guys are updating machines! Great updates, all that food looks so scrumptious popcorn::

I tried to get an extra update in because I know I won't update while we are in HHI and then it always takes me awhile for reentry. So it could be two weeks before I do another. However, watch for another possible update from Cynthia in my absence.

Too funny about the beer sharer.

He really was a nice guy. It was cute!

Mary Ellen, I'm so sorry about all the health issues with the kitties. I'm glad they've figured out what was wrong and things are getting better.

Things are getting better and I do feel bad that I waited so long to take both cats to the vet. I feel guilty about that, but I have to let it go. At least they are both being treated now.

Cynthia, very cool about the instrument donation! I'm glad 'Jeff's' present turned out to be a good purchase :)

I agree! :thumbsup2

Great update Cynthia, hope your weekend goes well, and good luck with PB:scared:, I'll looking forward to that update as well!

:thumbsup2 me too!

Aw... I'm sorry about all your little kitties' ailments. I'm a cat person myself and it's so sad to see our babies sick!

It is really hard to see your animals sick, especially since it happens so infrequently and cats tend to be very stoic even when they are very sick. That has certainly always been the case with Max. This is his third health issue and he really tries to hold himself together. He's a tough old guy.

Hahahah wow! I'm not sure I'd let a random person sip my drink... how funny!

Only someone who was well into enjoying F&W would offer to share their drink, if you know what I mean! :rolleyes1

The pets stories are great !! Our 3 kitties are amazing Shadow who is the old fella is huge he is the same size as MAX our little ****zsu , who is BAD!!:lmao:The other 2 are tiny and mainly white !! Cute as buttons!! Then there is our Snoopy who weighs 130# and thinks he is a lap dog:rotfl2::rotfl2:We love them all !!

Haha - too funny I only got to see the zsu ! I have always wanted a & zsu ! Shadow - I love that name. Snoopy sounds like a hoot. 130lbs is far from a lap dog. Ouch! :rotfl: I love hearing about people's pets.

Mary Ellen - I am so sorry to hear about your kitties' health issues :( I'm glad you got Kismet's flea allergy fixed and under control. I hope you can get through Max's diabetes with no problems.

Thanks. I feel like the flea allergy was simple. I'm more concerned about the diabetes, mostly because I want to make sure it stays well regulated. It sounds like it has the potential to be hard to regulate. Hopefully not. It's also going to put a crimp in my spontaneity. Once both boys are in school I won't have a backup plan for him. that's a little concerning.

That food seminar looks like fun. I love that they have that pot-cam so you can see what's going on inside!

I am the world's worst cook, so I didn't really pay that much attention to the pot cam, but it was pretty cool to know they were actually making the dish. They make it look so easy!

Cynthia - love that you bought the book and had it signed, that is a really neat keepsake!

I agree!

Mary Ellen - wow, those art pictures in the seminar are so nice!

Aren't they gorgeous? I would love to be able to afford just one of them.

How nice is that stranger to offer a sip of his yet-untouched beer for you to try! :lmao: Wonderful friendly Disney folks!

It was so unexpected yet so nice. At first it seemed odd, but then it I was like "cool. Ok!"

I do not have "The" mug unfortunately. I almost bought it but then I found an allover giraffe print mug in AKL that was smaller so I liked it better.

Have I seen your mug yet? That sounds really cool. I think I would like that because I want something to go with my original AK (aka the DIS mug) mug!

Love the Photopass pics ladies!

Thanks! I look like a major lush! :rolleyes1 I guess I really was that day!

Great updates! That food demonstration looked like fun and love all the pics around WS.

The food seminar was really fun! I'm so glad Cynthia suggested we do that. I'm not a big cook, but I enjoy watching other people do it because they make it look so darn easy!

Sorry about all the Kitty issues. I was thinking Diabetes when I was reading about Max, glad all the kitties are doing better.

Thanks. See - its pretty obvious as an outsider, isn't it? But I was in complete denial and I feel guilty that I ignored him for so long.

Oh my goodness! Soooo nice to see F&W pics as I am anxiously awaiting this year's trip. In some ways can't wait to go back. I, too, have found that you meet some interesting characters with great F&W recommendations as you wait in line, share tables. etc. All part of the experience! :) Grapefruit wine definitely going on the "to try" list... not sure about the fake chicken. ;)

Now I completely understand why you go every year during F&W. I hope to become a regular now as well. I really, really enjoyed the entire experience.

It was fun talking with veteran F&W guests and getting their recommendations. I really enjoyed everyone I met, especially the guy who so willingly shared his beer. :rotfl:

Mary Ellen - hope your kitties are doing ok and that you enjoy your trip to HH. :goodvibes

Thanks C. They are both doing well now and I am really looking forward to HHI!

Cynthia - awaiting your next trip report. Hate that feeling of being trapped in your seat by a sleeper.

That IS the worst feeling. But I'm glad she was able to do her update while trapped. :rotfl2:

Both of you have gorgeous pictures, as always. That spot in Japan looks very relaxing!!

Thanks! I loved that little spot in Japan. It was really so lovely back there. I shall return!

Your poor kitties!!!

My boyfriend's family dog was just diagnosed with diabetes too! He was drinking a lot of water too. They can't regulate his blood sugar it keeps going high.

I think that grapefruit beer is called like Schofferhoffer or something like that? I wanted the grapefruit beer soooo bad but when I went in November it was all sold out and they weren't getting any more in! I guess that is what happens when you go at the end of the festival.

That photopass picture of you drinking your drink is so funny!

Mary Ellen- I hope that you have a fabulous time in/at HHI... I'm really hoping to get there myself... it sounded really great in your past TR... :thumbsup2 Are you heading into Charleston or Savannah? (I can't wait to see them) Have an awesome, safe trip...

(I am sorry about Max although it sounds like he's doing better... my cats... Teddy and Alice (the sibs) are a lot like him... cat dogs...;) I'm not sure they know their behaviors in some ways are very uncat like... they follow me, talk to me & are watch cats... you do get so attached to them...:guilty: I'm glad you're letting Nick watch him... it's probably make Nick feel good... and is easier on Max...

I have never seen DeVine... she looks incredible... I'm going to have to find her in July... I love all those great nooks in AK... :goodvibes:goodvibes

Cynthia... I feel for your bladder on your flight... Emily and I had a deep sleeper on our flight to Rome...:scared: whenever he stirred we got up and out and over to the restroom asap...::yes:

Your seminar with the Irish chef looked awesome... I'd have been tempted to buy that book as well... I like that new Irish/English cooking... it's simple and comforting... (I was tempted to buy the chef/owner's cook book at Raglan Road... forget his name... just remembered that... may have to check out Amazon...:rolleyes1)

I have to go back and look for the clown pictures at the pool at the Boardwalk so I can desensitize myself to the clown slide for July...

I'm so sorry to hear about Max. However, I have known of a few cats that have diabetes and they live long, happy lives! Hopefully you have a nice, relaxing vacation and come home rejuvenated:goodvibes

That Alice in Wonderland picture is cool...yet a little creepy...belongs in the Haunted Mansion me thinks:rotfl:

Berry beer and grapefruit beer?! Very interesting. Don't think i've ever tried a fruit beer before. You're very adventurous and I like that!:cool1: How funny that that guy insisted on you having a sip of his beer! I guess everyone is happier at F&W:lmao:

So those leopard mickey head mugs are the 'official' DIS mugs!? I need to get my hands on one next time!

Loved that you said, "the photographer told me to do it" :rotfl2:;) Looks like you had no problems following orders!

Did you consider you always know where to find him because all he does all day is hang out on the street and never works? And has he actually ever given you that refreshment, or does he always keep it for his own enjoyment?

Just askin'................ :rolleyes2

What about stiff, unwilling to change, and really if you look at him overall, he's quite shallow! :scratchin

And none of you ladies seem to consider that Bo is a playah! He stares and smiles at every woman that walks by, and he will let any woman that comes along hug and kiss and hang all over him.

Of course I know some women fall for that sort of thing.......... :rolleyes1

Okay, okay........but has he ever actually UNLOADED the dishwasher? Or loaded it??? :confused3
:lmao: That just cracks me up!

Your poor kitties!!!

My boyfriend's family dog was just diagnosed with diabetes too! He was drinking a lot of water too. They can't regulate his blood sugar it keeps going high.

My vet said that dogs are a lot more difficult to regulate compared to cats. I'll take her word for it. I hope your BFs dog gets straightened out soon. Poor boy! :sad1:

I think that grapefruit beer is called like Schofferhoffer or something like that? I wanted the grapefruit beer soooo bad but when I went in November it was all sold out and they weren't getting any more in! I guess that is what happens when you go at the end of the festival.

ding ding ding! I think you got it or you are pretty darn close. There may be an "n" in there somewhere. All I know is they better have it again next year. :thumbsup2

That photopass picture of you drinking your drink is so funny!

That picture just screams "I am a lush". Seriously - both beers were so good I literally could not put them down. :rotfl:

Mary Ellen- I hope that you have a fabulous time in/at HHI... I'm really hoping to get there myself... it sounded really great in your past TR... Are you heading into Charleston or Savannah? (I can't wait to see them) Have an awesome, safe trip...

Thanks! I am really looking forward to it. So much so that I got up before my alarm. :rotfl: Yes to both. Savannah for the day on Tuesday and Charleston on Friday and spending the night there.

(I am sorry about Max although it sounds like he's doing better... my cats... Teddy and Alice (the sibs) are a lot like him... cat dogs... I'm not sure they know their behaviors in some ways are very uncat like... they follow me, talk to me & are watch cats... you do get so attached to them...:guilty: I'm glad you're letting Nick watch him... it's probably make Nick feel good... and is easier on Max...

Cat dogs is a great description. Max only talks when he's hungry, but Kismet loves to talk. I feel like I have entire conversations with her. She has a meow response for every sentence I send her way. It's funny.

Yes - I think it will be much easier on Max!

I have never seen DeVine... she looks incredible... I'm going to have to find her in July... I love all those great nooks in AK... :goodvibes:goodvibes

You must see her in person and then grab some pictures. I love looking at her picture because she immediately mesmerizes me. She is that cool!

Cynthia... I feel for your bladder on your flight... Emily and I had a deep sleeper on our flight to Rome...:scared: whenever he stirred we got up and out and over to the restroom asap...::yes:

That is THE WORST. I'll never forget the time when Nick, starting third grade the next day, was so anxious on the flight home that he was having stomach pains and he had to keep climbing over this 6ft 5" basketball player on the way to Philly. I felt so bad about it, but the guy couldn't have been nicer. To make matters worse there was only one operating bathroom at the back of the plane and Nick was in it about 50% of the flight. :faint:

Your seminar with the Irish chef looked awesome... I'd have been tempted to buy that book as well... I like that new Irish/English cooking... it's simple and comforting... (I was tempted to buy the chef/owner's cook book at Raglan Road... forget his name... just remembered that... may have to check out Amazon...:rolleyes1)

I would love to go eat in her restaurant. That was one of the reasons I hope that Nick got into Georgia Tech. It would have given me an excuse. :lmao:

I have to go back and look for the clown pictures at the pool at the Boardwalk so I can desensitize myself to the clown slide for July...

You will be fine. both Cynthia and I realized that the clown is totally NOT scary when you are actually on the pool deck - spoiler alert - that will be coming up in a future update.

I'm so sorry to hear about Max. However, I have known of a few cats that have diabetes and they live long, happy lives! Hopefully you have a nice, relaxing vacation and come home rejuvenated:goodvibes

That is so good to hear. I really am glad when people tell me that because it makes me feel SO much better!

So excited to be going to HHI! :cool1:

That Alice in Wonderland picture is cool...yet a little creepy...belongs in the Haunted Mansion me thinks:rotfl:

I agree! That artwork was really, really fun. I only took pictures of a few things. There was so much more!

Berry beer and grapefruit beer?! Very interesting. Don't think i've ever tried a fruit beer before. You're very adventurous and I like that!:cool1: How funny that that guy insisted on you having a sip of his beer! I guess everyone is happier at F&W:lmao:

If you like beer in general I think you would like this. the berry beer only really had a hint of berry - sort of along the same lines as a seasonal beer. The grapefruit beer was very different. A much lighter beer with a citrus flavor, but in a totally refreshing way. I can't even describe it other than to say "must try".

So those leopard mickey head mugs are the 'official' DIS mugs!? I need to get my hands on one next time!

Not really! :rotfl2: It's sort of my personal joke. Ever since I posted the first picture of that mug people on the boards have been commenting how much they liked it and quite a few DISers now own it. So I call is the "DIS" mug. I think it should be! :thumbsup2

Loved that you said, "the photographer told me to do it" :rotfl2:;) Looks like you had no problems following orders!

YEah - I can make a pretty good lush if I have to! I was enjoying that beer a little TOO much. :lmao:

:lmao: That just cracks me up!

Yes - now that we have totally analyzed Bo's personality (or lack there of)! :rotfl2:

OK Guys My Alarm just went off - obviously I was up before it! Gotta get ready. We are supposed to pull out at 0600. that probably won't happen cause our friends are always late!

I'll be checking in from HHI!

OK Guys My Alarm just went off - obviously I was up before it! Gotta get ready. We are supposed to pull out at 0600. that probably won't happen cause our friends are always late!

I'll be checking in from HHI!

Safe travels and have an absolutely wonderful time, Mary Ellen! :beach:

The Mom from the incredibles has red hair. Not as red as Merida or Ariel but red nonethe less.
And don't forget about Jesse from Toy Story...............

:scared1: That's almost as good as being told to wait after the ride by a random Joel in the park. And then waiting and spending the afternoon with him walking around... :scared1: :rotfl2:
Another endorsement??? :confused3 :rolleyes1

Possibly because I have been super preoccupied with Nick's college quest. And, not to be mysterious, but there is another reason that I have been pre-occupied, but I am just not in a place where I want to talk about it. It's not anything earth shattering, just a life event that is taking some extra time to deal with.

Mary Ellen, thoughts and prayers for this situation! I hope it all works out soon for you!

Lots of great pictures from Epcot for both of you ladies! I think I would have asked to take a picture of that scooter too!!! I love the ones that people take the time to decorate. Why does needing to rely on one of them have to be boring, right??? :)

I don't think I have ever seen the Jammitors with anything other than their trash cans!

Loved the artwork of Walt and the Mickey/Minnie on the train.

Funny how many pictures people get of Alice wandering off through a park! :rotfl2:

Cheers Mary Ellen! :drinking1 So what happened to the rum??? :confused3

And I always enjoy finding the subtle changes to the trains in Germany that they make depending on the season or what is going on in the park.

Good luck with the soufflé if you take it on one day Cynthia! I will try cooking a lot of different things, but not so sure I would even consider taking on a soufflé!!! :scared1:

OK Guys My Alarm just went off - obviously I was up before it! Gotta get ready. We are supposed to pull out at 0600. that probably won't happen cause our friends are always late!

I'll be checking in from HHI!
Hope you have a great trip Mary Ellen!!! HHI is a great place to spend a few days! Hope you have great weather to enjoy! :thumbsup2

I know Cynthia isn't quite finished with her update, but I wanted to get a word in quick before I fall asleep on my keyboard!! I'm exhausted from this week...not sure why? :confused3

Because it's not quite spring and winter drags on? That's my excuse at this time of year

:rotfl:

Isn't it just so "Disney" of that guy to be a) listening to your conversation and b) actually kindly offering you a sip of his beer?! I just think thats awesome!!! I must admit...I often find myself listening to peoples' conversations to see if its something I can help with, or if there is veteran advice I can give them! I can't say that I have offered anyone a sip of my drink before...but there's a first time for everything! :thumbsup2
Sorry, Cynthia, if I chopped up your update! I just thought that Mary Ellen's story about the "beer sharer" was so neat!!

Glad to hear that your kitties are doing ok. I don't know what I would do if either of my boys got sick!

Can't wait to read more! Have a lovely weekend!!

No worries on the ninja post, I loved that beer story and it was a perfect Disney moment.

I am glad Cynthia is using her time on the plane so productively. I forgot all about the pot cam. :rotfl2:

Replies tomorrow. I'm sort of beat myself right now!

Yeah, still avoiding the proposal I need to work on. Soon, I swear, soon.

I am so glad to hear that your kitties are on the mend, Mary Ellen! I was worried as your story unfolded. I have too many cats... and only one of the :rolleyes1 many we have is one we went and sought out. The others... found us in one way or another.

I love all the epcot pictures. I think they are especially nice considering you had a bit of a buzz while taking them.

The guy wanting to share with you... :rotfl2: I can't even imagine!!!

The beads are super cool... I didn't know they did that.

I love those beads. I was SO close (and I think driving poor Mary ellen nuts going back and forth on them) to buying some.

Cynthia, that is so cool about the donation to the school!

I love that you got the book and had it signed. Once we were walking by Kouzinna and Kat Kora was inside signing books (not sure how to spell her name ) we regret now not taking the time to go in to purchase one of her books and have her sign it.

I do hope your flight ended up going well! I have never flown solo... it kinda scares me. Come fall... I will be doing it though, so I best figure out how to cope. ;)

There is an interesting freedom in flying solo. I have a feeling you'll love it. I've only been to Kouzzina for breakfast, need to hit it for dinner.

It's like Christmas at school. So far 3 Eupohoniums. 2 Stradivarius Trumpets, the Trombone and the newest..a full new set of Chimes. Evan said his band teacher just lit up like Christmas. All anonymous and things just keep showing up. Solid quality items too. There may be more, Evan was rattling them off like crazy.

I love the name Max - its just so manly.

Kismet -with the skin rash is doing great!

Max seems to be doing better. He has definitely had more moments where he acts like his old self. That is good to see. I hope he continues to improve and stay stable.

I had a Max once, a tuxedo cat. He used to run up the back of my leg and perch on my shoulder like a bird. Loved that cat!

Hank is a very dog like cat too, even still. King of the house that one.

I honestly was hoping for hyperthyroidism, but when Mindy had it she was happy. That was the difference.

I'm not sure which is worse, both can be hard to control and expensive.

Your a good pet mom too for doing all this diet research. Since Max has FUS I can only feed him one type of food - fortunately Friskies makes it and the equivalent dry food. I can get the dry food in Walmart in a huge bag. All the kids eat it. It easier. Its kept him from getting stones for 9 years. Thank goodness. But I am now weaning him away from the dry because that is so high in carbs.

I'm trying to go grain free and 100% wet for both cats but it's hard. Wet is much better for diabetic cats I know. The really high protein stuff tends to be fish based which is not ideal and isn't necessarily their favorite. I'm also trying to get things that are low in phosphorous as that can be bad with the hyperthyroid and I'm not convinced it's entirely gone and so would rather err on the conservative side. I could get a grain free dry but at this point I'm afraid to introduce it as he will reject the wet and it is so much better for him. You would seriously think I'm nuts with the tables and tracking on the food but I really want to get it to some brands etc that I feel good about, has the nutrition content I want and doesn't break the bank. Ideally the food would be 50-60% protein, 5-10% carbohydrates, and 30-50% fat but...that's super hard to find that isn't 1) crazy expensive, 2) fish based, 3) something both will eat. UGH.

I felt like an idiot though when I actually looked at the ingredients of the Rx diet the vet had both of them on. Really crappy food and not cheap.

Vulture I know that. That's Jewel, my stray. I think she is permanently imprinted from starving in the past. She literally scoops the food up with her paw and shovels it into her mouth. :rotfl2: Its actually hysterical to watch - so we mix her food with dry and mush it down into the bowl to slow her down.

That is very likely some of Melvin's issue. Both are rescue kitties but Hank was adopted as a kitten and then returned by a couple who broke up so no real trauma. Melvin on the other hand was a street cat who had such a bad eye issue that he was blind (lids glued shut) and was so dirty that when he was turned into the shelter he they had no idea he was a pure white cat! He is still a big fraidy cat and one of the messiest eaters ever.

That's wonderful. I am so glad his diet change is working. Since I have put Kismet on Prozac she is chewing and scratching so much less. I know its because she got steroids and there are no errant fleas, but I think the Prozac makes her less obsessive and that translates into less vigorous grooming and hair pulling.

I'm glad the Prozac is working. Hank was on kitty Valium for a while with the Hyperthryoidism and it didn't seem to do much for him.

Is that when you leave for Hawaii? You must be so excited. I will admit - I'd rather be in Hawaii then HHI, but any place that is sunny, with a heated pool and hot tub, and has a Mickey in the lobby will work for me! :thumbsup2

OMG I wish! No, YOU are going ot be offline for 11 dyas. Me, I'll be solo parenting all week while Jeff is on a business trip.

Do you leave today or tomorrow, Mary Ellen? So glad the kittie issues worked out -- our animals are like part of the family.

I have that mug because you sent it to me! It's definitely my favorite! :goodvibes

What a fun lunch seminar! Cynthia, I would have had to buy the cookbook, too -- yeay for getting it signed!

Grapefruit beer? I am not a beer drinker, but that intrigues me.

Such a nice day strolling around World Showcase!

I really need to make some more things out of that book but I do love it, and it was just a wonderful seminar.

You guys are updating machines! Great updates, all that food looks so scrumptious popcorn::

Too funny about the beer sharer.

Mary Ellen, I'm so sorry about all the health issues with the kitties. I'm glad they've figured out what was wrong and things are getting better.

Cynthia, very cool about the instrument donation! I'm glad 'Jeff's' present turned out to be a good purchase :)

It was a very good purchase, if only for that one recipe!

Great update Cynthia, hope your weekend goes well, and good luck with PB:scared:, I'll looking forward to that update as well!

Thanks! I made a bit of a dent in the photos this am, need to upload the first batch. What a total mess though. 4 cameras, 4 differing time stamps, and hundreds of photos. PB aside it was a mess!

Mary Ellen - I am so sorry to hear about your kitties' health issues :( I'm glad you got Kismet's flea allergy fixed and under control. I hope you can get through Max's diabetes with no problems.

That food seminar looks like fun. I love that they have that pot-cam so you can see what's going on inside!

Cynthia - love that you bought the book and had it signed, that is a really neat keepsake!

Clearly I was a bit obsessed with the pot-cam. LOL! It is a neat keepsake and makes me smile when I use it.

Great updates! That food demonstration looked like fun and love all the pics around WS.

Sorry about all the Kitty issues. I was thinking Diabetes when I was reading about Max, glad all the kitties are doing better.

It was a very fun seminar!

Oh my goodness! Soooo nice to see F&W pics as I am anxiously awaiting this year's trip. In some ways can't wait to go back. I, too, have found that you meet some interesting characters with great F&W recommendations as you wait in line, share tables. etc. All part of the experience! :) Grapefruit wine definitely going on the "to try" list... not sure about the fake chicken. ;)

if no one told you...you wouldn't know it was fake. It was THAT good. I wish so very badly I was going back this year, it's kind of killing me at the moment!

Cynthia - awaiting your next trip report. Hate that feeling of being trapped in your seat by a sleeper.

Both of you have gorgeous pictures, as always. That spot in Japan looks very relaxing!!

It's a toss up. I prefer the window and that's the price I pay.

I'd give anything to be at that spot in Japan right now.

Mine too! Thank goodness for the pot cam!

I know the feeling. I think a couple of us (myself included) interrupted her update. I think she'll forgive us. :flower3:

Love the Pot-Cam and yes, all is forgiven. LOL!

That WAS really good! Probably one of my fav food items.

I wouldn't have ordered one had we not heard the glowing reviews. I had figured even if it was hand rolled it wouldn't be as fresh later in the day but it was absolutely fabulous. And huge! One of my favorite items as well.

On an overseas one you really can't just hold it the whole time. Devine is so cool, I've been lucky enough to see her 3 times now but all just dumb luck.

I'm all about simple and comforting. If you do get the RR cookbook, make the Bread Pudding. It is SO yummy! A bazillion calories but worth every one, definitely a keeper of a recipe.

I have to go back and look for the clown pictures at the pool at the Boardwalk so I can desensitize myself to the clown slide for July...

Really, he's not that creepy at all once you are there. I promise. Heck, I thought between the pink wall in the room and the clown there is no way I'd want to own there despite the killer location and...well, we all know how that ended up.

Of course it will be interesting to see how the rest of my crew feels since they didn't get any input on the purchase. Jeff is still bummed the YC doesn't have villas.

Lots of great pictures from Epcot for both of you ladies! I think I would have asked to take a picture of that scooter too!!! I love the ones that people take the time to decorate. Why does needing to rely on one of them have to be boring, right??? :)

exactly!

I don't think I have ever seen the Jammitors with anything other than their trash cans!

And they were funny! Video clips coming up soon

And I always enjoy finding the subtle changes to the trains in Germany that they make depending on the season or what is going on in the park.

Good luck with the soufflé if you take it on one day Cynthia! I will try cooking a lot of different things, but not so sure I would even consider taking on a soufflé!!! :scared1:

Yeah, we will see on the souffle lol! I don't think I looked that close at the train during F&G and now I wish I would have.

A small postscript to the last update

First up, the Jamminators, chef style. Click on the picture for some bad jokes.

I did check my receipts and amazingly I didn't miss anything but it did confirm what I suspected.

First up was the Trick'n Chick'n but no wine with it. I think I was being cheap or didn't feel like carrying 2 things. LOL.

As I suspected , next I had that spinach paneer and a glass of sauv blanc in S. Africa. No clue why I only took a picture of the kiosk and not my actual food but I can assure you, it was good!

Followed by the Spicy Hand Roll.

I also confirmed that while Mary Ellen had some Zen time with her grapefruit beer and the beautiful people posing, I power shopped, picking up various items that I'd been eyeing over the course of the trip as I wasn't sure what tomorrow would bring and wanted to knock out what I knew I needed to get from Epcot. I do think we walked back together to the Boardwalk but I did stop into Seashore Sweets before meeting up in the room as well.

Last but not least, some pictures of Jeff's present. No, not the cookbook, but the Shepard's Pie!

Of course, in the spirit of Food and Wine, I had wine while cooking

I love how the wine topper Mary Ellen gave me matches my kitchen!

Assembled my dishes for the last stage

And once they started to get brown and bubbly, took them out for the vultures (the boy and man kind, not the cat ones) to devour

I found the" DIS" mug, so I decided I had to take a picture of it. If you have this mug chime out now! I know quite a few of us have it.

:yay:
After looking for it in October and not finding it anywhere, I was afraid that we had waited too long to make a decision about the official DIS mug. But, the animal print Mickey head gods were on my side last month, and as soon as I found them, I snagged two - one for Jill and one for me. We can officially gather 'round the DIStown community center coffee table now, but since neither of us are coffee drinkers, we'll be rockin' the hot chocolate, I guess. :thumbsup2

I am struggling to catch up with DIS news after the trip, but I am getting there. Loving your World Showcase pictures. :goodvibes

Sorry about your sick kitties, Mary Ellen! That is really the pits. :(

I have to say, I don't know if you listen to the DIS Unplugged podcast, but they just did a segment on overlooked Animal Kingdom, and Dustin mentioned the little seating area you found behind Tamu Tamu! I immediately said to myself in the car, "That's the spot from Mary Ellen's TR!" :goodvibes

I SO LOVE that a random man offered you a sip of the berry beer. :lmao: That's hilarious!! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I too would be so curious about those people posing for pictures....

Love the PP photos of you with your beer! :rotfl: Now that's a F&W picture if I ever saw one!!

The demonstration looks really fun!

Another fun day. I have never made shepards pie either and wouldn't have a clue how to go about it. Maybe someday I will attempt it. I need an easy recipe though.

Okay, I love that you put the shepherd's pie in individual dishes -- I always do mine in a casserole dish, but yours is so much more appealing looking. Also, how do you get your mashed potatoes to look all pretty and swirly???
