cast member ddp discount for guests

I haven't called back, my CM friend did that for me. I got an email from him first thing this a.m. and a new ressier. He arranged to get us a bigger discount somehow and now we have two ressies? I think we are getting 60% off the room now when he is there with us (same resort not room) and 50% when he is not. And I think 15% on dining plan. Since he has been VERY generous and is VERY busy, I don't want to question him more about this, he has gone above and beyone (including putting down our deposit on both ressies!! and not even asking for it back - which I have paid and will on this next one he just made) And it's confusing to me I can only imagine it's confusing to him as well. Yes, that's good! Any days he is there with you staying at the resort, of HIS CM ressie he can book up to three rooms locked under the CM offers (the DDP gets locked in at the lower rate and the rooms too, it's all part of his one ressie). Sounds like he got the 60/40% off. When he checks out, it starts a new ressie he can lock in a "Other GUest" offer for you which would lock in the 50/15%. That's great that he's being so nice to. The deeper discount on the DDP is *awesome* and the deeper discount on the rooms is great too.

Sounds right. They split it because one is a CM discount since he will be there and the other is Friends and Family when he won't be there. Two different discounts = two different ressies

Did you call the regular reservation line yourself or did you have the cast member who booked the room call the cast member line? WE have a friends and family discount for October and I was just curious if I would be able to call to apply any further discounts.

I called myself. It's already in the computer that I'm a Friends & Family since my CM friend made the original reservation for me.

So i think I am getting the 60 40 YEA!! but it is odd that the price they told my friend for the meal plan is 19.99 per adult and 14.99 per child - that is not 40% off the price of the plans per almost every site I visited listing the prices at 37.58 and 14.32 regularly. It's just hared for him and me to understand how they figure pricing out. I wish it wasnt such a mystery -

The children DPs are rack rate. Only adults are discounted.

If the CM is staying with you in the room you'll get the 60%.

This is the price for the cast member staying in the room with you. If they aren't then you should call back because from what I have read they will send someone by to check if the cast member is there. I called and was quoted that discounted package also before realizing their mistake.

I have talked to several CM's at this point, yet I never get the whole story. Yu have been far more helpful than any of them. It's almost like I'm running a gauntlet Even for my CM friend. We agree they are always nice, but why do we have to pull inforamtion out of them?
I was also just told that I can get ANY room at the same price - yup no price change from pool view to preferred pool view??? So then the % off cannot remain the same (60%) as those rooms have different pricing... this is getting maddening

Well I agree that the CM should be staying with if they are getting the CM rate/not the friends rate but that said in the many many times I have stayed with my daughter (a CM) on property not once has anyone come knocking on our door to see who is there and even then much of the time she is at work or we are out somewhere and I doubt they pilfer through our things. There would be no way of telling for sure. I suppose it's possible but I have never experienced it or heard of it happening. For the CM rate though the CM does the checking in and paying. She always wants to stay at the resorts! I couldn't get her not to if I tried LOL - mom buying food and checking out all the different resorts is a lot of fun for her and me.

For the Friends rate she just goes in ahead of time and shows her ID to the resort.

This is not true. And I am not entirely sure the percentage is exact (we never do the math) but when the CM pulls up the page for resort availability (and they have to do it through their portal) then it will show what is available and the different prices. For a deluxe (if available in these categories) it will show say standard and the price and then plus or minus for different other views (theme park, lagoon, concierge, outer building, etc).

My daughter always does it online unless it is one of the special deals when you have to call in and use a code.

This is correct. They can book up to 3 rooms (like AP holders and pin codes) as long as they are going and they get linked up. So it sounds like it's all fine.
