"Wondering" if We'll Be On the Wonder November 16, 2013

I've been waiting anxiously for someone to start a meet thread for the Western Caribbean out of Galveston November 16, 2013... Finally realized I could start one myself!

Dh & I booked a dummy cruise when we were on the Wonder for the first time in September 2011. We've moved our reservation here there and everywhere trying to settle on a) a cruise we want and b) a cruise we could afford. We'd had our heart set on a Mexican Riviera and well, you know what happened there.

So we finally settled on the Caribbean out of Galveston departing Nov 9, 2013. Getting to Florida is soooo expensive and if we were going to PC, then we'd have to factor in extra $$ for WDW. So Galveston seemed a good compromise. So we moved our reservation, even managed to get the cabin we wanted on the deck we wanted. Whew...nothing more to do than wait (and pay!). Then we got the email that they'd changed the itinerary to a Bahamas cruise.

Sigh..so again with the moving of the reservation! Still hoping we can get our cabin changed as we're hoping for 7th deck (currently on the 6th) but no biggie if we don't.

Now I want to see if anyone else is cruising with us. Given all the changes DCL is doing, it'll be interesting to see if this cruise even sails as it is now! Hence the 'wondering' in the subject line. I've never bought travel insurance but I'm definitely getting it this time!!

Our Pirate Gang includes me, my dh and our two girls, who will be 12 & 8 when we sail. They don't know that we have a cruise even booked and we don't plan on telling them till waaaaaaaaaaaaay closer to the sail date. I just can't put up with 11 months of "how many more sleeps?" :rotfl:

So that was a long-winded start to the thread. Hopefully there will be others sailing with us. My kids would be disappointed if they can't find anyone else to play with!!!

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :cool1:

Have a great cruise!

I just booked this cruise for our first cruise ever when I saw the Galveston discounts. Our 15th Anniversary is the day after we get off the cruise. We will have a 4 year old daughter who is coming with us.

Joining in! I will be joined by my husband, my son who will be 13 and my daughter who will be 8. This will be our second cruise. My parents will also be coming along and this is their first cruise. If anyone is interested I am writing about our first cruise on the trip report boards. If you read it you can get to know is better and learn our habits so you can find us/hide from us on this cruise.

:rotfl:Yay! Fellow cruisers! And just when Dh and I were starting to think we would have the entire ship to ourselves :rotfl2:

I'm loving your (bleeping) trip report, jjje! :rotfl: I would have loved an 8 day trip but alas, we'll have to settle for 7. Your kids are adorable. I'm hoping your dh will get picked to dance at the sailaway party. Sounds like he did an awesome job!

Just think, only 228 sleeps to go!

We just booked this cruise with the new deals. First time in a Navigator Veranda. We won't be doing any FE, but I enjoy following along with the meet thread.

Welcome aboard! I'd love to try the Navigator verandah room but would have to leave a child behind to fit in. And trust me, the thought has crossed my mind on occasion!

As empty as this cruise is looking to be maybe we'll ALL be picked to dance at the sail away party. I'm not complaining. Our last cruise was crazy busy. A half empty ship might be nice too.

DH and I booked this trip on a whim yesterday. It happens to leave on our anniversary and the price is excellent!! We can't wait to try some new ports of call.:woohoo:

Well there's nothing like a snow day in April to make you really want to get away from it all and take a Disney cruise. How much longer now? It seems like forever....

Is anyone interested in doing the World's Smallest Fish Extender Group?

219 sleeps!

But who's counting?

Oh wait, ME! :lmao:

Count us in for an FE exchange. We did it last time and had a blast.

Oh yeah, and the ShipMate Disney app finally added this cruise to their list. Although it still shows Costa Maya as a port, instead of Falmouth. I have no idea what the app is supposed to do for us but I like to just go in and look at it and giggle in excitement. :rolleyes1

Lucky Number 7

Seven months from right now, I will be sitting in the sun on Deck 9, with a drink of the day in my hand!!!

Heck, even if it's cloudy/raining, I'm still sitting on (the covered part of) Deck 9 with a drink of the day in my hand!!! :woohoo:

Just booked this cruise! So excited. We haven't done anything longer than a 4 night for 4 cruises. I can't wait to enjoy 7 nights aboard my favorite of the 4 ships, the Wonder. It'll just be me and DH this time around. Glad to be here!

Hello everyone! We are so excited for this trip. First time on a disney cruise and first time cruising with two of our three boys ( baby gets an all expense paid trip with nana ). Our two boys going with us are 6 and 4 (almost 5 at sailing). I am so excited to tell them as disney is all they talk about, however we have decided to surprise them the morning of. So the only person counting down is me! Lol I have heard about fish extenders and would love any info you experienced disney cruisers have thanks!

Woohoo! 200 sleeps and already on the second page! We're rolling now. :rotfl: Great to see more people coming aboard!

Love your user name, Martinimama! So we'll see you at the martini tastings then? :)

Dh and I are still debating when to tell the kids. On our first trip to Disneyland, we didn't tell them till the morning we left. My eldest has what you might call a 'nervous disposition' and too much anticipation usually leads to well, let's just say...a pukefest! (So, who wants to sit next to us now?)

When we booked our first cruise, we decided to tell them two weeks out. That was a blast! And we got it on video. Yes, my youngest still talks about that balloon. Apparently we could have saved the cost of the cruise and just bought her a balloon and she would have been happy.

This time we're thinking we might tell them towards the end of summer...give them enough time to help us plan out stuff yet hopefully not torture them too much. Although they were driving us nuts the other day (both trying to outwhine, out-snark each other) and we were tempted to just blurt it out just to derail them <bwahahaha>..The Wonder makes one stop in town this year - at the end of May - and it would be fun to tell them as we watch it sail in .... But that still leaves six months of 'how many more sleeps...?'...

This keeps getting better and better! They have martini tastings ! Oh joy! We also r struggling with when to tell the little people.....
