2013 Beach and Yacht Club FAQ: Don't Post Here! New Thread Now Open

Hi Everyone,

I've noticed a lot of people mention that when they stay club level they get greeted a the door and taken up to the club level for check in. This will be my 4th CL stay and that has neve happened to me. I usually go up to the concierge desk (sometimes there's even a line) and they will either call to have someone come down or they take us up for check-in. Is there some kind of trick to getting recognized as a CL guest as you walk in. This year will be our first YC CL stay June 24 through June 28. It would be great if we could go right up to CL for check-in so would could save some time.

The couple of times we have not been met by a greeter after we got out of our car, we just approached one of the CMs outside the door and told them we were checking in CL. Both times they escorted us upstairs to the CL check in desks.

Ughh!!! Ninja Mom is suffering from an Easter Basket hangover so I'm just going to answer and not quote the following questions...

Nope, we were never the family of the day at Magic Kingdom or anywhere else. It is a secret dream of mine but the boys would have none of it! Anything that gets in the way of them storming off to their favorite mountain first thing in the morning is NOT cool. :rolleyes1

My husband took that picture and he says anyone can use it, but only for good and never evil ; )

You can book a Room Only for the bounce back offer so no need for tickets!

Happy belated birthday to your son! I totally missed all of Easter on the DIS.
I must be nuts - I had a big Easter breakfast (because one of my ds had to go to Easter dinner at his girlfriend's parents) and a big Easter dinner for everyone else!

YCFAN - you've obviously have done a lot right! I've met your youngest son and he is so sweet and polite, and from everything I've heard about your oldest son he sounds remarkable!

Awh, how sweet of you to say. You'll be meeting him too next July!!

This question was posted to the BC Marketplace Thread.

I'm going to ask this over on the main FAQ thread- I am curious about the answer to this.

On my last trip to the BC, there was a dedicated booth? table? with a photopass CM, located in the hallway between the lobby and the Marketplace, near the elevators. Not sure if there is still a dedicated area for photopass and if so, what the hours are.

Anyone know?

I just spoke with someone from customer service At photo pass. He said there is a table at the marketplace but they are only open from 5-9pm. So you can only redeem during those hours.

We're coming! Wanted to book BC for this past trip, but ended up taking my parents with us. Turned out for the best because it was too cold to swim and. . .

I booked BC August 4-6 using the bounceback offer in our room last week at POFQ. Quick trip that will definitely be pool and Epcot focused! :beach: Just me and my girls.

Would love suggestions--I'm definitely going to plan on eating poolside at least one night. I've never been in August, should I be scared?

Off to make a ticker :cool1:

That's so exciting, angeejoe! I have booked the bounce back a few times (just booked a last month for BC this October!) and with the current offer, you don't need to add tickets. I would think that the AP would be a good investment if you are going back. If a better AP room rate comes out - they have been pretty much the same 35% off as the bounce back offers lately - you could always cancel your bounce back reservation and rebook with the AP offer. Also, we have found the TIW discount to be much better than dining plan. Have fun planning, and maybe we will see you at the BC this fall!

Thank you for pointing this out. I'm glad you posted this. I don't want to steer anyone in the wrong direction. We are also considering a bounceback trip later this year.
Thanks again :thumbsup2

I'm with Ninja mom......too many wobbly pops yesterday. Good to hear about the ounce back as I already booked a flight in July. :)

We looked at all the pictures of the market place food area. Did not see any ice tea on the drink section as we had had at AKL. We need gold peak iced tea! AKL had like an iced tea dispenser that had four different kinds, we loved it!

Then we saw pictures of pizza also at the BC marketplace. Very nice looking flatbread pizzas. However, we have a no sauce pizza eater in the family. All our local resturants have no problem making a no sauce pizza, is that a possiblity at the market place?

Counting down the days til the middle of June!

I just looked at the pics in the marketplace thread and the Gold Peak dispenser is between the 2 Nescafé machines! I too need the ice tea!!

Thank you!

That makes the refillable mug a real bargin since it can get refilled with tea many, many, MANY times!

I hear you!!! And I don't feel the guilt of soda since I go with Unsweetened! Wish I could answer your no-sauce pizza question! But I am on here researching our first trip too!!!

2 weeks and 6 days we'll be at YC!!! Maybe we'll get to meet you and DP????

I would suggest just throwing yourself into packing and making lists and planning your days, even if not to the extent that you normally do, just to make it a little more normal. And if it makes you feel better, we won't be heading back until next summer either...:scared1:

I will be there the same time as you guys. I pulled out my suitcases this am :cool1:  :cool1:  packing always makes me feel better! Sooo excited!!! :cheer2:

As an Iced Tea addict I have partaken of the Gold Peak dispenser of goodness at many a resort food court so I'd be brave enough to say they are everywhere!

Someone ( I cannot remember who) mentioned the spring water at BC Marketplace, will one of these fit inside the fridge? We are using this as the solution to our bottled water dilema but would like to keep one cold.

On another note, booked Dessert Party which was my last ADR to make!!!

We are arriving on Magical Express.

As someone mentioned earlier, when you get onto the ME at the airport, they should notify the resort that you are on your way.

Now I am trying to remember what happens. If you have your ME booklet and don't have to go over to the desk, do you just show someone your voucher for ME or do they scan it at some point? Or do you rip out the page?

It has been a few years for me, so I can't remember the process.

I think they just scan it. I am just trying to remember from last year.:confused3
