September/October 2013 check in

Well friends, I got the word from Glenn yesterday that he is unable to commit to the trip. I am a little sad and disheartened to be honest, however! I have a few exciting things to look foward to to keep myself occupied! I am opening my own business! Although I am sad about my Disneyland dream not coming to reality, I am now able to invest more time and money into my business, and am planning on buying my first lot of stock this week :) I will be selling iPhone cases (plus any other brand of phone case by pre order only) and accessories (headphones, dust stoppers, sync cables...etc) So if any of ya'll are interested in pre ordering some of the cutest cases you will ever see in your life (Including some amazing Disney ones!) ...feel free to give me a buzz for some pictures and prices ;)

I am also going to draw up a price plan for living the Disney dream in April next year!!! My Nan and myself went in April last year and had a BLAST! The crowds were low, the days were nice and warm...not too hot! Overall the best time I have had in my life ever! Hopefully I can convince Alicia to come with me...now that we have over a year to save!

So without further adew, I bid you farewell for the time being. I will pop my head in now and again to see how everyones trip planning is going, and I look forward to reading all of your trip reports :)

We'll be there October 21-28 and hoping to attend MNNSHP on either the 22nd or the 27th. We are pumped and ready to roll!!:hyper::banana:

That's a shame. But good on you for looking at the bright side and starting your own business.

I hate that Disneyland only give out park hours six weeks in advance!

Gosh, that's not a lot of notice. For the obsessive holiday planners amongst us, it's nice to know these things as early as possible.

However, I guess in some ways it's nice that Disneyland doesn't involve as much planning and forethought as WDW. This is by far the most planning I've ever had to do for a holiday. While part of me loves all the planning, another part of me craves spontaneity. If I knew I could visit any park on any day without worrying about different crowd levels, or that I could visit any restaurant without worrying about a booking, my holiday plans would look considerably different i.e. Sep 28 - Oct 9: Visit WDW.

Woohoo! :cool1::cool1: I've done CRT and Chef Mickey's they were fun. Be Our Guest looks awesome.

Sounds like everyone's plans are coming together. It's five months tomorrow until we leave :yay::yay:

We're going to buy our disneyland tickets sometime over the long weekend. Is it safe to buy them anywhere other than the disneyland site? We're looking at 5 day hopper passes for the five us (me, dh and the three kids). I have seen them $5 cheaper per ticket on the mouse saver site, is that site ok to use?

Yay for making your ADR's.

Mine open up just after midnight Tuesday morning and I'm trying to decide whether I'm obsessed enough about food to stay up until late and ring through to Disney, or just wait till Tuesday morning when I wake up. I have Tuesday off work (for unrelated reasons) which does makes it slightly more tempting to stay up.
The following night I am going to set my alarm to call Disney and make my son's Pirates League reservation. I really want the last booking of the day before MNSSHP starts. I might be extra hopeful, but no harm in trying.

I think adults can get a Pirates League Makeover. I'm pretty sure I've seen a few You Tube videos of adults getting it done.

I'm so excited about seeing the look on my son's face when he gets to experience all these fun things - priceless.

I usually buy my passes from Disney or a travel agent, but I know there are a lot of reputable places that sell them.

Thanks for that. We ended up going through Disney just for the reassurance that everything is ok. The Disney leg is now almost booked, except for the character meals and we can't make the reservations for those until late July. At this stage we're thinking of Minnie and Friends or Goofy's kitchen early in our stay and Ariel's Grotto for the princess experience for dd1's 9th birthday. Oh and we're still hoping that the first Halloween party will be the 27th of September (yep, dd's birthday). Hopefully not too long until the dates are released for those.

Happy Easter everyone...the family and I are off to celebrate in true Aussie style at the footy to see the Magpies hopefully beat the kangaroos!
