WBPC May 6th 2013 Wonder

Just saying Hello again!

I have read through the thread and wanted to reintroduce ourselves!
This will be our first 14 day cruise for all of us! We just got off the Disney Magic 8 day out of Galveston so ready to get started on all plans and Fe gifts!

Cabin 2143 DH Josh 28 DW Crystal 27 Ds Joshua Jr 5 Ds Jace 3 and their Gma Vicki the third in cabin 2145 (4 Disney Cruises for all of us)

Cabin 2415 DH John 25 (1st Cruise) DW Erika 23 (2nd cruise) first time disney cruisers:thumbsup2

:woohoo: WE ARE ALL SUPER EXCITED :woohoo:
At the moment I am unable to check in and reserve anything but Disney says they are working hard to fix the problem. Little flustered but still excited :woohoo: I have already started my Fe gifts so this is a plus!

I would like to also send my condolences out to John for his loss. My heart goes out to him as we have recently had a lost. Love and Prayers to him and his family.

I saw a bunch of you guys from the Magic last week at EPCOT. Glad you are excited. I am getting there too. Your first timers will love it. My first cruise with DCL was the 2005 WBPC. Well maybe we will meet in Wavebands one night.

We ventured Epcot for the first half of the Day and Magic Kingdom the second half... we got to do test track which we were not able to do in November. I believe that the original was better and Radiator Springs racer out does the New test track. Its gonna be fun just to watch John and Erika with being first time cruisers we went with them to Disneyland last August(practically first timers)... so it is so fun to see it again through newbies eyes enjoying there joys and excitement!

See I absolutely loved the new Test Track. Maybe being a Tron fan helped a lot.

Sit and read on Deck 4. I pretend I'm on the Titanic (while reading from a Nook!) and the people around me play shuffleboard and walk laps and just relax.

Nancy

I enjoy jogging on Deck 4. :cool1: Kathy enjoys reading a good book. :coffee:
Our kids got us each a Kindle for Christmas, so we will be using them on the cruise.

I enjoy getting up early :yay: on port days to watch us pull in (watching the crew cast and secure the lines).

Kathy can relax in a deck chair and I enjoy exploring the ship (every nook and cranny :hyper:)

I think it is a toss up for me between sitting on deck or a veranda, watching the ocean and reading. Or taking a walk after dinner and watching the sunset.

Mrs. Mork. I love Skippo also.

Lounging on a tiled chair in the Spa...whilst reading a book on my iPad & sipping cucumber h2o :)

We could only narrow it down to two things:

The Mickey 200! Never have some lowly potatoes and carrots been put to such good use!

Watching Pirates on Deck 9, with the moon overhead and ocean breezes on your face. With a cruise this long, maybe we'll stay up late enough to finish it. (Or maybe not). :)

One of our family favorite things to do is a 3 pm taco every day. I love the tacos at Pluto's dog hut. That's one of the things I miss most because they don't have them on the Dream or Fantasy.

Oh and I did not know they had tacos there! You learn something everyday. I'll be the one in line right after you for the 3pm taco!

I hate to be the party pooper, but on the Wonder there are no Tacos at Plutos. Well at least on the May Hawaii, the 2011 WBPC, the B2B I did in 2010 or the 11 night southern.

Welcome. Like Alan I am getting to be excited. Just too much to do and the rising stress levels stop me at the moment but once I am onboard then it will all start!! You will all have an amazing time.

I look forward to Waking up before sunrise (I'm an early bird by nature), and strolling across a nearly empty Deck 9 to the coffee station. I always managed to catch the sunrise over the waves. A needed moment of peace before the start of a fun day.

Just to stir the conversation a little and get everyone excited...

For people who have taken a Dis cruise before -

Name one of your favorite things to do onboard.

I'll start!

One of my favorite things to do onboard dcl is to skip the dining room dinner, go to the pool instead, grab a pizza/burger/chicken finger/etc. and watch a movie on Arielvision. I have a great memory of doing this on our last cruise and we saw Mary Poppins that night - it was a wonderful time! :cloud9:

Looking good! :thumbsup2 I love how you incorporated the ship as your FE.

We love to sit out on the verandah and watch the sea go by.

So, when I scheduled our Karmel shuttle pickup to get from the LA San Pedro port to SNA - I plugged in our flight times (later in the day) and was given a pickup time of 11:45a

Since it sounds like they'll be booting us off the Wonder by 9am (kicking and screaming, I bet! :lmao:) - is there anything near the port worth hanging around for, or should we have the shuttle pick us up around 9:30a and just chill at the airport instead?

If there's something fun to do near the port - what would we do with our luggage in the meantime?

Okay, one of my very favourite things to do on board is to snag one of those comfy lounge chairs outside the Cove Cafe (if I can), put up my feet, ask DH to get me a glass of wine or a Chai Latte, and stare dreamily at the ocean. There is nothing better. :goodvibes

That sounds pretty wonderful!! :cloud9:

Sit and read on Deck 4. I pretend I'm on the Titanic (while reading from a Nook!) and the people around me play shuffleboard and walk laps and just relax.

Deck 4 time is my favorite too. I especially like later in the afternoon when most of the walkers and shuffle boarders are finished and it's nice and quiet. I start out reading a great book and eventually, my husband wakes me up...;)

We like hanging out on Deck 4 also - but more around sunset time. If its not too windy (my hair!!!) we like to step out before our pre-dinner cocktails and take in the sunset.

Hi Again!! Welcome back to the thread. We are happy to be cruising with you :goodvibes

we got to do test track which we were not able to do in November. I believe that the original was better and Radiator Springs racer out does the New test track.

I also liked the old test track better. I dont' know, the new one is a little lackluster to me...but it was never one of my favorite rides anyway!

I look forward to Waking up before sunrise (I'm an early bird by nature), and strolling across a nearly empty Deck 9 to the coffee station. I always managed to catch the sunrise over the waves. A needed moment of peace before the start of a fun day.

That sounds really nice also. I am never out that early - I may be up, but I'm just getting ready - but my husband is often out at sunrise, so you may see him out there sometime.

I LOVE the pirate deck party!! I love the fireworks show on the Dream and Fantasy better since it is set to the POtC music instead of "I Need a Hero", but I still enjoy the show. I'll then grab a chair and watch POtC under the stars! Great memories. :goodvibes

I have been looking or something for my family to do in Cartagena. I emailed the directors of "friends for Columbia", a foundation that supports several programs in the ares, and they said they would be happy to organize a tour that would be kid friendly. I am interested in having my kids meet some local kids. They mentioned a child care program and also a school as possible stops. They also said they could include a driving tour through the historic highlights in the area, again in a kid friendly fashion.

Several folks on Cruise Critic highly recommend the group and their programs. It sounds like they are flexible and could put something together for us, if anyone else is interested. www.friendsforcolombia.org is the website for additional infomation. My kids are 4 and 6.

My kids are 8; we'd love to do something like that:upsidedow!!! Please PM me if you schedule something for your family, and can include us. Thanks!

I saw Cabo San Lucas requires tendering. As a newbie, how does this work?

Its really simple. Once everything is set up for tendering (usually by the port time listed, but sometimes a little before or a little after) you can go down to the tender deck (they typically tell you or you can find out by calling reception) which is often deck 1, and you swipe your card to leave the ship and you board a smaller ferry type boat. The boat takes you to the tender dock and you get off. Simple as that!

The only thing you have to remember is what time the last tender boat leaves the port - they are serious about those times, so make sure you arrive to the tender dock before the last tender leaves to return to the ship.

I've never tendered in Cabo, but usually a tender trip takes 15-20 minutes, so keep that in mind and don't leave anything onboard the Wonder that you might need b/c its a pain to go back & get it. :boat:
