1900 Park Fare
June 23, 2012

After our failed shoe expedition, at about 2:15, we hopped on a bus to take us to GF for our ADR at 4:30pm. It was lucky we did because it was THE LONGEST BUSRIDE EVER! I mean, what the heck was up with Disney Transportation that day?? We didn’t get to GF until 3:20pm!

IMG_2939.jpg

The lobby is just gorgeous!! We, again, shopped to no avail, and decided to slump in a really comfy chair and people watch. We relaxed for a bit until our ADR time at 4:30pm and went to check in at…

1900 Park Fare!!

IMG_2946.jpg

We got our picture taken…

36570670097.jpg

…and were seated. It was such a cute restaurant!

IMG_2951.jpg

IMG_2950.jpg

IMG_2956.jpg

The food was really good, but the buffet lines were SO LONG! It took a really long time to get food, but once we got it, it was delicious!!

I didn’t take notes about each food item, but it was all really good- especially the strawberry soup!!

IMG_2953.jpg

IMG_2955.jpg

IMG_2957.jpg

IMG_2958.jpg

The character interactions were amazing!! Except for Cinderella…she was a bit boring and SO QUIET! I couldn’t hear a word she said! I don’t even know where that picture is! BUT, the rest were awesome!!

Lady Tremaine was funny, but she looked a little too young. Mom asked if she knew of any princes for me, and she said that if she knew her daughters would get them!

IMG_2960.jpg

IMG_2962.jpg

Drizella was next, and she was great!! She wasn’t very talkative, but had a dry sense of humor.

IMG_2963.jpg

Mom told me to make her face, so I was half smiling, half “duck-facing”…I was just awkward all around! LOL!

IMG_2964.jpg

Prince Charming was ok, but he didn’t spend too much time with us. It was just kind of awkward! At one point he said it was so warm in here because he was warm with his love for Cinderella! LOL! It was so cheesy!

IMG_2965.jpg

Anastasia was by far the best! She was so talkative and spent so much time with us! She was super outgoing and was really engaging!

IMG_2967.jpg

Our service was great!! We had Bob from Rochester, NY and he was really nice and quick! He had great timing and was really friendly.

Overall our experience was great! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food!! The characters were great, and I think we would definitely come here again.

Oh, oh, and we saw the Teddy Bear Lady! I don’t know much about her, but my mom recognized her from something she read on the Boards!

IMG_2968.jpg

Goodbye GF!

Stan's The Man
June 23, 2012

After dinner we got on the monorail to the Contemporary.

IMG_2974.jpg

We looked around for a while because I had never been to CR before! We wandered in the gift shop and around the floor.

IMG_2983.jpg

IMG_2982.jpg

IMG_2993.jpg

We made our way to Contempo Café because even though we were STUFFED, we “saved room” for dessert, and we were going to have a cupcake!

IMG_2981.jpg

I chose the red velvet cupcake, and luckily I snapped this picture at the cashier because right when we got to the table it toppled over!! It was still on the plate and good enough to eat, but it just wasn’t pretty! LOL! Anyway, it was delicious! It was super sweet, though, and after our lunch, I had a hard time eating it.

IMG_2979.jpg

Mom ordered the strawberry lemonade cupcake. This was amazing!! It was not sour, but it was light and sweet and yummy! It had a great balance of strawberry and lemon. Nothing overpowered the other, and it was the perfect combination!!

IMG_2978.jpg

IMG_2980.jpg

We were sitting there for a really long time because we had time to kill and it took a while to get the cupcakes down. While we were eating our snack/desserts, we noticed some great service!! CM Stanley was very helpful to a big family who didn’t understand the dining plan. It was the end of their stay, and they had a ton of snack credits left- like 60! We couldn’t hear everything that was going on, but he was super patient with them and spent 10-15 minutes with them explaining how the credits worked and the best way to use their snacks before they left the next day. It was such a nice thing to see, and the family was so happy and grateful! Mom and I decided we wanted to fill out a guest service card for Stanley. We set off to the concierge desk.

IMG_2991.jpg

HOWEVER, little did we know how complicated this was going to be. Honestly, we spent like 20 minutes waiting for someone to bring us a card. First of all, they didn’t really understand what we wanted. Then it took them forever to come back. When they did, they gave us a business card….What? They were like, “write to this address.” And that was it. I was like umm ok, I’ve SEEN the guest services card before! I don’t know what the problem was with these CMs, but somehow they had no idea what was going on!

Wishes Dessert Party
June 23, 2012

After that fiasco, we went back up to the monorail to MK! We got there at about 7:00pm, and headed into Tomorrowland! We rode the TTA to kill time. Then we went to sit at the Tomorrowland Terrace to sit and people watch until we could check in for THE WISHES DESSERT PARTY!!! We checked in at about 8:40pm, and we were seated right up front! It was amazing!!

IMG_2997.jpg

IMG_2999.jpg

The desserts were delicious, and my favorites were the chocolate covered strawberries and the banana cream chocolate thing with a graham cracker crust. It was all so good!!! I’m pretty sure I got my money’s worth in strawberries!

IMG_2998.jpg

IMG_3002.jpg

We took some pictures to pass the time!

IMG_3006.jpg

Tomorrowland was so pretty!

IMG_3007.jpg

IMG_3008.jpg

Pretty!

IMG_3009.jpg

IMG_3014.jpg

IMG_3038.jpg

We had a great view, but once the show started, a bunch of adults got up and stood directly in front of us. It wasn’t very nice! I stood up to film MMY, but we could see Wishes alright since it was up in the sky. I just couldn’t take any photos.

Goodbye Beautiful Castle! part I
June 23, 2012

After the show we decided to wait for the mad rush to clear out before we left. I had to use the bathroom, so I decided to go in the one that was right there. WELL. There were 3 stalls and a very long line. I noticed that there was a little girl in front of me and her mom behind me. When it was my turn, I turned to tell the mom to go ahead in front of me with her daughter, and before I could even finish my sentence, the mother grabbed the little girl by the arms, and without a word to me, shoved her daughter and herself into the stall.

So, I was next in line, and doing my little “gotta go” dance. It seemed like it was taking an awfully long time. I was timing it on my phone because I wanted to know exactly how long it took. Of course the line was growing behind me, and NO ONE was coming out of the stalls! I checked my phone, and 7 minutes had passed. Finally the middle stall opened up, and out stepped THREE people. It appeared to be a mom and her two daughters roughly 6 and 12 years old. I honestly don’t understand how they fit in that stall!

By the time I was finished, I literally had to shove my way OUT of the bathroom because it had gotten so full, and people just weren’t moving. It was a pretty stressful experience, but the minute I stepped into the fresh air it hit me. BRAZILIAN TOUR GROUPS. They were EVERYWHERE! Apparently their tour were given carts of food because they were everywhere! Mom had been sitting at one of the tables, and she said she had to get up and move because they swarmed in all around her!

IMG_3043.jpg

IMG_3041.jpg

Once we were finally away from the Tomorrowland Terrace things were much calmer and enjoyable.

We strolled around wasting time as we waited for the park to clear. We took a bunch of pictures and went in the shops.

It was getting late, and there were still so many people milling around like normal park hours! When we left there were still streams of people leaving! It was crazy! We waited for a bus for far too long,

IMG_3123.jpg

…and got back by 11:15pm. Someone left us a note!

IMG_3128.jpg

I took pictures of our souvenirs for the day, and we crashed by 11:45pm.

For the kitchen:

IMG_3129.jpg

IMG_3130.jpg

We used these to hold our park tickets because Mom’s was breaking. I have all of my passes and gift cards in it right now. I love it because I can put it right at the end of my pin lanyard!

IMG_3131.jpg

DBF loves ESPN and SportsCenter, so this was perfect!

IMG_3132.jpg

IMG_3133.jpg

Our Keep Calm shirts!

IMG_3134.jpg

IMG_3136.jpg

And Keep Calm bumper stickers! (One for Mom, my Aunt, and I!)

IMG_3138.jpg

Mom’s Canadian shirt! Two in one! She loves it!

IMG_3137.jpg

And finally, my Moose and Bear pajamas! I wear these shorts ALL THE TIME!

IMG_3139.jpg

P.S. Has anyone else been having problems with Phototbucket?? Like, it freezes up nonstop, and it literally takes me 2 hours just to copy the links to my pictures! Ugh! It’s so frustrating!! Anyway, carry on! :goodvibes

Ugh, foot troubles in Disney. NO fun. Sorry you couldn't find any shoes! My feet are size 10 so I know how you feel when it comes to finding good shoes! I always just wear flip flops in the summer!

1900 looks like a lot of fun! Hahah um... I think Princey needs a new line! That's just odd, I'm sorry!

CONTEMPO CUPCAKES OMG!!!!!! I'm just in love with those things. THE BEST. Hands down. Strawberry lemonade was the one kind we didn't try, I wish we had!

The Wishes Dessert party sounds like it was a great time! The bathroom/tour group experience afterward, though... NOOOOOPE. Yuck.

Your pictures are so great! Love the souvenirs! But yes, photobucket is being stupid and changing to the "NEW" photobucket. I am thoroughly annoyed and I might switch to something else for my next TR!

I usually wear flip flops nonstop, but for some reason they were really hurting that trip! :confused3 Finding cute size 11 shoes ANYWHERE is nearly impossible! I definitely feel your pain!

It really was odd! :lmao: It was so funny!!!

OMG, the best!!! I want one right now!!!

It was awesome! And so worth it!! :thumbsup2 But that "after party" was NOT fun! LOL!

Thank you! I know, what is going on with it?? Let me know what you use next because I think I'm going to change too! I just am trying to figure out a good site for it!

Lady Tremaine was funny, but she looked a little too young. Mom asked if she knew of any princes for me, and she said that if she knew her daughters would get them!

She does look young. There's one at the MK that we've seen a few different times, and she's awesome! In fact, Bill and dad had there picture made with her. Her comments were priceless!

Mom told me to make her face, so I was half smiling, half “duck-facing”…I was just awkward all around! LOL!

:rotfl: This made me laugh out loud!!

Prince Charming was ok, but he didn’t spend too much time with us. It was just kind of awkward! At one point he said it was so warm in here because he was warm with his love for Cinderella! LOL! It was so cheesy!

Ok.....WAY cheesy!! Time for him to learn some new lines  Good grief! How did you not crack up laughing?!

Overall our experience was great! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food!! The characters were great, and I think we would definitely come here again.

Don't ya just love GF?! One of my favorites! (I say that all the time):rolleyes1 But it really is....so beautiful. Faith thought we were taking her to the GF for her surprise b-day! Ha! Try again, Faith!

After dinner we got on the monorail to the Contemporary.

We looked around for a while because I had never been to CR before! We wandered in the gift shop and around the floor.

Why did I think you had stayed at CR:confused: Who knows? It's one of my favorites....already said that, didn't I??? Did you like it? They really do have the most comfortable beds. It's not one of Bill's favorites, but it's so nostalgic for me....it just screams "Disney". Our family stayed there several times when I was young, so it holds lots of special memories. Ok....I'll move on now and stop going down memory lane;)

It was getting late, and there were still so many people milling around like normal park hours! When we left there were still streams of people leaving! It was crazy! We waited for a bus for far too long

Beautiful pictures of the park!! I've often wanted to stay after everything was over and just walk around snapping pictures. The dessert party looks like the perfect location for Wishes. I've contemplated doing it, but didn't know if it would be worth it for the kids.

P.S. Has anyone else been having problems with Phototbucket?? Like, it freezes up nonstop, and it literally takes me 2 hours just to copy the links to my pictures! Ugh! It’s so frustrating!! Anyway, carry on! :goodvibes

YES!!! In fact, I sent them a message twice last week. It's becoming quite the ordeal to edit pictures. And when I edit, it may take 3-4 days for the edited picture to show up on the DisBoards....crazy! I feel your pain;)

We love 1900 Park Fare and Anastasia is our favorite.

Have to agree with you on the line Charming used - :crazy2: It sounds more like a really horrible pickup line at a seedy bar.

We were kind of mixed about our Wishes Dessert Party experience last month that we will likely skip it next year and try for the Pirates and Pals Cruise. Since we've seen Wishes many times in the park, I think we're ready for a different perspective.

What a bummer you couldn't find shoes, I'd think a shoe store (non crocs) could really rake it in there. I don't know what it is but bus from DTD to anywhere seems to take forever, I know I've waited there for eons as well, one time also trying to get to the GF. Fun lunch but oh Charming sounds awfully cheesy.

I always go back and forth on the dessert party, whether it would be worth it or not and your udpate leaves me as mixes as ever. The bathroom scenario sounds horrendous though, glad you got out of there.

So many lovely pictures!

Especially of that Strawberry Lemonade cupcake. I want!

Yes, Photobucket is freezing up, it's in the midst of a site update and it's causing everyone nothing but problems. I fought with it a bit to get my updates done today and I really need to go in and figure out why in the world when I edit something, it resizes it. Larger!

Your pictures really are fantastic! You have a very good eye for photography!

1900 Park Fare sounds like so much fun! I would love to eat there but I know Reid won't have any part of it. :rotfl2:

Ok....we saw that Teddy Bear Lady too in October!! It was the night Ed & I had our date night at Citricos. We walked by her and couldn't figure out if she was a mannequin or not. Then, there were 2 ladies behind us who asked us if we knew. We finally figured out she was real, live, breathing lady. What is the story behind this woman? :confused3

Those cupcakes from Contempo look amazing! I really want to try the strawberry lemonade one!

I love your 1st picture of the castle from the dessert party! Sounds like y'all really had a great time! I'm always on the fence about whether or not I should book it.

UGH - Brazilian Tour Groups! :crazy2:

Great job with the updates, Em!!! :thumbsup2 Your pictures really are amazing and you bring me right back with every shot and with every description! That was so much fun!!!!

I felt so bad about the shoes - poor Emma! It was very stressful trying to find shoes and not finding anything that would work!

We DID laugh a lot about Prince Charming - he was so awkward! Hahahah! The others were great!

We had eaten so much food that day - the dessert party was wonderful and the seats outstanding, but soooooo much food! Haha!

There's a thread about the Teddy Bear lady on here explaining her story, it's really interesting and she's evidently very nice.

I agree! I think Disney really needs a good shoe store! And a book store! :goodvibes

It was a great experience because it is a different angle, and the desserts were wonderful! However, I think it was a one time thing. I may do it again someday, but I think it was nice to do it.

Thank you!

It was SO GOOD! I want it now! :rotfl:

Hmm, it is so frustrating! Hopefully things will settle down because it is so annoying! :goodvibes

:rotfl: The Teddy Bear Lady! I wish I could find that thread, but it explains all about her! My Mom read it and told me about it! LOL, I love it!!

Thank you! It's a good experience, but I probably won't do it again for a while. Although those desserts were delicious!!! I think it would be 743725956 times better if it was in a different location... like on the train station on Main Street somehow!! :thumbsup2

Great job with the updates, Em!!! :thumbsup2 Your pictures really are amazing and you bring me right back with every shot and with every description! That was so much fun!!!!

He was so funny! So strange!

I know! We were stuffed!!!

Subbing! Love hearing about the MK dessert party...so much yum. :goodvibes The mango shooters there are my favorite, although there are so many delicious things; it's hard to decide!

So fun to see all your purchases as well - the pajamoose jammies are too cute! :thumbsup2

It's a Downtown Disney Day!
June 24, 2012

Hi everyone!! I am soooo sorry for my absence! School has been insane lately because of the end of the semester coming up. I've been taking some time this weekend to catch up on other TRs, but I have a LOT more to go! This weekend has also been crazy! Mom came down on Friday to celebrate my birthday early by taking DBF and I out to dinner. Then on Saturday, it was DBF and my three year anniversary, so we spent the day together, and we were going to go out for dinner, but I ended up getting a migraine :( so we ended up just ordering pizza and watching Friends. Then today, it's my birthday!!! Because it's Sunday, it's more of a homework and cleaning day, but DBF and I did my birthday things this morning (I got a car phone charger for when we drive down to the autotrain in June!). I wanted to finish this thing before I leave in June (which will definitely happen), and I only have a day and a half left to report on! :( Ok, enough already! Downtown Disney time!!

It was our last FULL day, and we were moving a bit slowly this morning. Mom was up by 7 and I was up by 7:30am. This was on our door this morning!

IMG_0948_zps24aef4c3.jpg

Sad face!

Our message for the day!!

IMG_0949_zps6a46adf8.jpg

We were out the door by 8:25am and had breakfast at the food court.

And we used a snack credit to get beneigts!! OMG THESE ARE SO GOOD!! It had been so long since I’d had them, and I missed them soooo much!!!

IMG_3144.jpg

We got on a bus to DTD. It was raining pretty hard out, so we were soaked by the time we got to the bus stop, and it was sooo cold on the bus with the air conditioning!!!

We got to DTD by 9:10am, and we waited for World of Disney to open by taking pictures of the stores because I knew I wasn’t going to want to have my camera out very much later because of the rain.

I really apologize for the quality of these photos. You can probably see how rainy it was, and I was shooting out of my plastic bag again, so it was difficult to really take good ones. I ended up putting my camera away for a lot of the day because of the rain. I used my iPhone for a lot of the pictures later today.

Souvenirs with a Capital S
June 24, 2012

WoD opened at 9:30am, and we shopped there for a while. I took our souvenir pictures that night, but I’m just going to go ahead and post them along with the stores we purchased them at.

From World of Disney-

A t-shirt for Mom:

IMG_3168.jpg

Chocolate covered pretzels!

IMG_3169.jpg

Pretty earrings and a pin that my mom wears on her scarves!

IMG_3170.jpg

IMG_3171.jpg

Mickey scarf!

IMG_3172.jpg

Dish towels for my apartment!

IMG_3173.jpg

My license plate border! I love it!

IMG_3182.jpg

IMG_3183.jpg

Boxers for my DBF:

My FAVORITE sweatshirt ever!

IMG_3190.jpg

My Mickey mug that I use almost every morning!

IMG_3191.jpg

A Pluto mug for my aunt!

IMG_3194.jpg

Then we went to the Basin where we got some scrubs and soaps and we made candles.

And the Rain Rain Rain Came Down Down Down
June 24, 2012

We had some snack credits left, so we went to Goofy’s Candy Co to use them up.

IMG_0954_zps5bfaae29.jpg

IMG_0959_zps989a18d9.jpg

We ordered the Mickey Rice Krispie Head with white chocolate and M&Ms! It was sooo good! We asked if they had any and they made some especially for us!

IMG_0953_zps927e0081.jpg

IMG_0956_zps5f466349.jpg

IMG_0961_zpsc57ef0a6.jpg

The finished product!

IMG_3199.jpg

Look at all of the goodies!!

IMG_0963_zps4ce47b1c.jpg

IMG_0964_zpsc09aa97e.jpg

We also got some other treats!

IMG_3196.jpg

IMG_3197.jpg

IMG_3198.jpg

Mom went in to 25 Days of Christmas and then the Art of Disney while I sat with the bags on a bench and wrote in my journal. When Mom came out, I went into Art of Disney! OMG! It was amazing! I could have gone crazy in that store!! I love it all!!

Some ornaments Mom got at the Christmas store. It’s a tradition!

IMG_3174.jpg

In Art of Disney, Mom picked up a really cool piece!

IMG_3189.jpg

After our shopping, it was still pouring out, so we went to find a place to eat. We really wanted Wolfgang Puck Express, so we went over in that direction, sloshing through puddles! It was so crowded!! There were so many people in there, and it’s not a very big space. The cashier was very short and snippy with us, but I’m sure that was because of the crowds.

IMG_0968_zps23b96124.jpg

I ordered the Roasted Turkey Melt Sandwich with French Fries. It was ok, nothing too special. The bread and fries were sooo good!! The cheese was American, so I would have preferred swiss or provolone, but that’s just my own personal taste. The balsamic vinegar was really good on it, and the onions were strange, but yummy!

IMG_0969_zps09760b26.jpg

For dessert I had the frozen yogurt (vanilla) with chocolate chips! It was amazing!! It was so creamy and sweet! I love froyo!!!

IMG_0974_zps49140753.jpg

Mom ordered the Margarita Pizza which was absolutely delicious!! It was cheesy and gooey and had a great flavor! I wished I had ordered that!

IMG_0971_zpsb70fb91d.jpg

For dessert she ordered the cheesecake. This was good, but it had a strange burnt flavor. We were thinking maybe it was freezer burned? It was frozen, but it just didn’t taste quite right.

It was absolutely POURING, and we braved the rain and ran to the bus stop. We didn’t have to wait too long for a bus which was really good! There was a couple that was celebrating their 25th anniversary! It was so cute! They were so nice! They were from Ohio, and they were super talkative! After a 50 minute bus ride, we made it back to POFQ by 1:15pm.
