Is the Yatch or BEach club really worth it??

DH and I have talked about staying at the Yatch or Beach club for our upcoming trip in Dec. I started pricing it out.... WOW is all I can say.
We love Epcot and find our way over there almost every night during our trips. This is one of the reason we would love to stay there, so we just could walk back in the evening, really nice stroll. What other great benfits are there to staying at either resorts.

I just don't know if I can justify the cost?

If the weather is warm, the pool area at YC/BC is awesome! We went in July 2 years ago, and spent most of our days there--going to parks early am and in the evening.

We've been in December before, and the weather was rather chilly, so don't know if it would be worth it then. It is an easy walk to Epcot, but there is no food court. Don't know if that's important to you.

This really is a personal choice, only you and DH know what your definition of "worth" is. You will see post from folks that think $200 more a night is worth it to them for the location, others will say no way. Since there is only the 2 of you, what about a split stay? Also; you can look into renting DVC points, either directly from the owners or from DVC rental sites. Both will help save some $$

We are staying at BC in May so I can't say for sure yet, but I think it will be well worth it for us. We have 3 young kids and the back and forth on the buses was a pain when it was just one. So I love that we'll be able to walk to two of the parks and take the monorail from Epcot to MK or back if we want. And having the entertainment of the Boardwalk I think is another great perk. People seem to really love the pool although I'm not much of a swimmer myself so that doesn't really excite me.

I agree if it's just the two of you and you are concerned about cost but want to try it out go with a split stay.

I would have to say that I truly think staying at the Beach Club is well worth the money. The thing that I think was the best is that you are within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. I found that the cast members there were extremely helpful, one of my kids had a health issue and they were more than accommodating. The pool area is great for those who love to sit and relax or even enjoy a dip in. Even with a winter stay it is not bad. There is a downfall that I have to admit to and that is the lack of food. My children are somewhat picky at what they will eat and the food choices for them was lacking. Good luck on trying to decide what you would like to do.

If it's the location you want, not the pool or other YC-specific features, price the Dolphin and Swan. Depending on season and whether you qualify for senior/teacher/nurse/etc discounts, they can be much more reasonable. No ME or dining plan, though.

We liked the Yacht Club quite a bit. The location and pool is really great. It is a little cheaper than the monorail resorts also. Magical vacations travel (google it) frequently have good packages also for YC or BC which some have found recently to be pretty good.

If you can afford it, yes. they are the best 2 properties in all of the world.

#1 - best pool in storm along bay
#2 - can WALK to 2 theme parks (epcot and studios)
#3 - can WALK to 5 resorts and all their food and shopping
#4 - High end deluxe themeing
#5 - boardwalk

I love everything about the BC , but IMO, the two best features are its location and the pool. Since Dec weather can be iffy, you may not spend a lot of time in the pool. That said, if you are still interested in staying there, I would choose the BC and request a room near EC if you are planning on spending a lot of time there. It was 5 min walk tops from our room to the entrance of EC.

As far as the food, I didn't find it to be a problem. While the cs options aren't as extensive as other resorts, there were decent options at the BC marketplace and Hurricane Hannah's. You can also easily head to the Boardwalk or World Showcase, too.

We are booked at BC for November for our first stay there. We booked our package through AAA and saved 15% off the room. If a better discount comes out AAA will apply it. That discount is better than nothing so if you are a AAA member maybe that might reduce the sticker shock.

My family loves YC and BC -- love the area, the pools, and especially the location. December is an unreliable time for swimming, though...

We think being so close to Epcot makes it "worth it" for us -- we tend to spend a number of evenings there, having dinner, wandering around WS, and watching Illuminations. It's just so easy to get there and back from the YC/BC and we appreciate being able to walk over to Epcot whenever we feel like it.

That said, if you want that location but can't get a good "deal" on a room there, you could always check out the S/D (yes, I know it's not Disney, but it does share a similar location).

Worth is relative... we like to stay there but always try to find a good room discount wherever we stay at WDW.

I disagree with this statement. Don't forget you're stating an opinion, not a fact.

To the OP, I would definitely suggest trying either BC or YC if you are a huge Epcot fan. Great resorts and so close to WS. I would equate staying at YC/BC for huge Epcot fans to staying at a monorail resort for huge MK fans...magical!

It was worth it for my family. We love Epcot and the ease to just walk there everyday was fantastic. I love the atmosphere and theming at the Beach Club and the pool is great. A couple nights we strolled around the boardwalk it was a great way to wind down. I would definitely go back.

We stayed at the BC for the first time last year. While we were impressed overall with the resort, we found the CS location to be extremely lacking. Hopefully they re-think that area in the future. Very limited selection and subpar food. No seating. And the YC doesn't even have one, they share it with the BC.

Boy, I hope it's worth it -- I just booked YC for a trip in June.

Seriously, we stayed at BWI last year and found it well worth the price. The convenience alone is a HUGE benefit. We're trying YC this time because we ultimately prefer a resort with everything under one roof (shops & restaurants at BWI are out on the Boardwalk).

Oh! And I *always* book with a discount. This time I booked with a 30% off Disney Visa rate, but I'm hoping a FL resident rate will come out that's a bit higher (35% at least). Probably wouldn't be worth it to me without a discount.

I'm staying at BC in December and even with a 35% discount, I'm balking at the cost. We previously stayed at YC and BWV for December trips and really like being in that area for the holidays. Lots of things to see in all three lobbies and easy to get to DHS and Epcot for their special events.

We stayed there for the first time this past December, and yes, I'd say it's well worth it especially that time of the year. It was super easy to go back and forth to Epcot for the Candlelight Processional, boat to DHS for the Osbourne Lights, see the Christmas decorations at the surrounding resorts. We also took the monorail over to the MK resorts to see their decorations.

We love Epcot and all the restaurants, so it was great to be so close by.
