Concierge/Club Level Information- Part IV, July 2012

The last time I was able to get water bottles from CL was April 2011 at Contemporary and we had to specifically ask for them. They were the little bottles that are in the kids meals at the counter service restaurants.

Yay after lots and lots of math we pulled the trigger and booked BC CL SV! I can't believe it. We usually stay at POP. Going for 11 days 9/18-9/28. I'm so excited!

Yes, quite a number of years ago (4 or 5 maybe?), bottled water for guests was a perk of CL. It went by the wayside when CL services were being cut due to the downturn in the economy. ...
and the amount of waste. Club CM's reported that many guest were stocking up their frigs with large volume of water bottles. When they leave they are required to be thrown away. Also, remember Disney has Green initiatives too. Just another case of people wanting and hording more than they need leading to changes.

The last few club level stays, I have packed a refillable water bottle, like the one I take to the gym. The Wilderness lodge has a large filtered, chilled water dispenser and I simply fill my water bottle up from there each time I go in and out of the hotel. Most of the clubs will have some type of filtered, chilled water, it just won't be in a convenient grab and go plastic bottle.

I do agree that we pay enough they should provide it, but also understand the attempt to eliminate so much waste.

Wow - this is quite an upgrade! Congrats and have fun. Be prepared though because it will be hard to vacation any other way in your future disney trips. :thumbsup2 We have visited Pop to go to the arcade and think it's a really cute resort. But when it comes down to booking a resort to stay at, it's so difficult for us to not book CL anymore.

Contacted IPO at YC, said that they provide both plastic and glass bottles when asked for :goodvibes

...as does the BC. Water has never been an issue for us at BC. They gladly gave us 4 plastic bottles each morning before going to parks. However, I've actually found that I like filling up a tervis/thermos with ice and water before the parks, so we have started using the glass bottles or some resorts have the large filtered water dispensers (Poly did) that we simply use to fill our own bottles.

We stay at AKL CL and they told us they don't do the plastic water bottles due to waste. They do have a large chilled dispenser of h2o. We bring reusable bottles anyway, as I had the waste myself. My only (minor) complaint was with dparkling water. Some nights I could get a glass bottle to bring to the room and some nights just a glass. As they keep that in the back I couldn't use my own bottle.

Hi. So I'm sitting at work and would love to go through all this info but I have one question which probably has been asked before. Do I have to use IPO for my dining reservations or can I still do it myself? I love the feeling of waking up at 5:30 on my 180 day to make all my reservations I've been planning for the last year and a half! Or should I give up the control and let them do it?

Also, we'll have to use Kids Nite Out that evening (staying Poly CL) - probably a dumb question and I know we'll figure it out, but wondering if anyone knew if will we have to meet the sitter somewhere or will they be able to come to the room directly somehow?

They will come directly to your room. We stayed at BLT and you need a key to go anywhere in the resort. They said that WDW knows them and they didn't need a key so I am assuming it would be the same for you.

You can do them yourself. I would suggest sending them all the reservation info so they can prepare the itinerary they give you when you check in. That way you have all the info in one handy place.

Great. First time staying CL so I am a little clueless. But that idea sounds good. What does the itinerary the give you consist of? Just your dining or special bookings? Sounds like a nice keepsake.

Anything they book for you (or you book for yourself and tell them about), from dining reservations to things like the Sunrise Safari or any other Disney recreation that involves having a reservation. It's just a nice thing to have it all in one place. That way if you want to cancel or change anything, it's all on file and the IPO office (or the CMs in the lounge once you check in) have easy access to all of your plans. :goodvibes

Yay! Just be aware that it's hard to go back after staying deluxe CL... We keep wanting to book a less expensive trip but now we are kind of spoiled... :cloud9:

I agree. We stayed WL CL in July and LOVED it, but swore that we would go back to a value or mod for our April trip...we are staying YC CL. :rolleyes2

Next year....

I usually have booked them myself too bc, well I have a hard time giving up control.:) But the new website has been so crazy lately and people on the dining boards have been saying that they can't get reservations and end up having to call to book.

So I let GF IPO handle ours this time, and just on Sunday- my 180 days- at 6:30 am I got an email from them giving me all of my booking #'s!:cool1: I got everything I wanted, including Ohana twice and CRT breakfast.

Easiest 180 day booking I've ever done!
I logged onto the DIS and found that people that morning were having really bad issues with the site and weren't able to get what they wanted.

All of this to say--- I'll always let them handle mine from now on! Good luck with whatever you decide!:wizard:

While there's no prohibition on making ADR's yourself, I find it's better and easier to let them do it. Unless maybe you are past the 180 day mark, and you want something that's really hard to get, and you need to find compromises. Even then, I might let them help.

Also, if you have any special needs/requests, they are great!

Oh my! Just got off the phone with IPO, went over my ADRs that I'm hoping to get. That was such a fun and exciting phone call! I can't wait to see how it goes. ADR day is March 22nd :) club level is crazy cool. I'm so excited!

imobsessedwithdisney , mickeyluv'r, JoBird, mmmears thank you for all the info. I think I'm going to let IPO take control! It actually sounds like fun to have someone else take care of all your needs!

Wanted to give an update on my 180 day ADRs. The BC/YC IPO did mine on my 180 day mark, and they did a fantastic job. I got my confirmation back before I even got to work yesterday. I have dinners at BOG and 'Ohana on the nights I wanted them at the times I requested with only one slight time adjustment for 'Ohana. I'm glad I let them do it for me!
