Where is HOME? OR have you found it yet???

I send pics of the scary clown slide when I stay at BWV to my friend that hates clowns. :lmao:

Ugh. My aunt does that to me. Anywhere she sees a clown she sends me a picture. My mom used to take this ceramic clown someone gave my son that had flashing eyes (way to make it even scarier), and she would put it in cupboards and different locations that she knew I would look. Freaked me out.

AKL is definitively our home. It was the first resort that DH and I stayed in on property and we fell completely in love. On the first day that they announced points for sale at AKV we bought. Being DVC owners of AKV and SSR we definitely love both. I have also stayed at GF, WLV, BWV, BCV, SSR, and OKW. Each one was magical in it's own way, but none come close to the magic of home. Even if we don't stay at AKL we always make a special trip to visit it on every trip.

We like trying different resorts, and hope to someday try them all. But there are some that we really aren't that interested in, and some that we know we will return to again and again. AKL definitely is a special place for us.

# 1 - AKL
Tied @ #2 - POR and CSR
Never stayed any of the boardwalk resorts. Always felt to stuffy for me. I will have to give it a try one of these days.

The first 2 trips we stayed at the POP but then we got a free upgrade to OKW and since then we try something new every year. I think now that my DD is a preteen we aren't interested in trying more of the values but I wouldn't mind trying every mod and deluxe. So far our favorite deluxe was YC and favorite mod was POR but we've got more to try still :).

We own at BWV and BLT and have stayed at all the deluxes except the Yacht Club. Boardwalk is our home, without a doubt. But when I do with my DD and DGD, we love BLT for the unbelievable convenience of walking back from the MK at night. What a great feeling!

When she's not there, I get the same feeling from walking back from Epcot to BWV at night. DH always wimps out and takes the boat--I love the walk!

BW has officially become "home" after spending 10 nights CL there in Dec. We absolutely fell in love with the hotel, the location, the Inkeepers Lounge CMs.

We were booked at WL for this Oct and 2 days after we got back from our Dec trip, we called and changed to be back at BW.

I am doing a solo trip for ToT 10 miler wknd and sadly am not staying at BW, but instead POFQ as BW is not a host hotel.

:) We have stayed at ASMo, Pop and once at POFQ. We loved them all and Pop was our fav value. Now since we own DVC at AKL...DH has become a AKL purist and only wants to stay there. I have to agree...

However there is a cardboard box behind Ellen's Energy Adventure and I will sleep there for a Disney fix. pixiedust:

We own at SSR, but our first stay as DVC members was at OKW last year, and I fell in love with it. I'm sure we'll try out other resorts in the future (kids want to stay at AKV and BLT) but I think I'll always feel a "pull" to go back to OKW.

From the first time we stayed at the Poly, we've been hooked. Tryed out AKL, but a day later we switched back to the Poly. On our last trip, we lasted two days at POR, but switched to the Poly. I figure that any new resort we try just won't measure up, so we book the Poly and don't change it. There's just no place like home!

When we started going we stayed at CBR. Loved it! I love walking out of my room and being right outside in the warm sun (were from the Buffalo area need I say more). The beach and hammicks......:goodvibes

Once we joined DVC, for the same reason we picked OKW (as well as because they have the largest room sizes of all of WDW resorts with the least points). Yes, we still miss CBR but love OKW and consider it our home. We love to skip the parks for a day and enjoy just the pool for the day (always lots of games and entertainment for the kids) and spend the evening in our room for some much needed down time and a rented family movie.

We have started taking a day to "resort hop" also :drive:. Try out the pools and resturants to see if we might venture to another someday but if it's not broken..right?

Excellent to hear we will be staying there starting next Friday for a quick 4 day getaway. Our first time at OKW so really excited now after reading your post, thanks!!!

Have a great trip, fellow Hoosier! I will be interested to hear what you thought.

I generally always go on Disney vacations with my fiance, so we like to move around and stay at new resorts, but our first trip together we were at pop. We always like to add one or two nights there to our stay.
For me it has to be Port Orleans i've stayed in both riverside and french quarter but i love riverside with it's landscaping and the boat to Downtown disney. Now that they have the royal guest rooms i feel like a princess with out spending a huge sum. This year i'm going to have a garden veiw. I'm also going to have dinner at Boatwrights.

I'm in the camp of wanting to try them all but my last stay was at SSR and I think that might be "home". I absolutely loved it. The rooms were nice, our balcony was large and the grounds were lovely. I think each resort has its own charming character but SSR is my new go-to.

You got it, we are super stoked! Where in Indiana are you guys?

I have only tried AoA so far. As a family of 5, our options are very limited and deluxe villas are way out of our budget.

But realy, AoA was more than perfect for us. It was just what we wanted and more! We got to see the GF when we went to 1900 park fair, and my husband felt very out of place, like we didn't belong there.

We love in-your-face Disney, we don't care for water slides and we're barely in the hotel anyway. The staff was very friendly and we felt like we were the center of the universe.

Other than AoA, I would like to try the hotel with the Pirate ship pool near Epcot, and BLT. But like I said, they are sadly not even considered.

Why sleep in a box when you can just sleep INSIDE Ellen's Energy Adventure? I insisted on trying it this last trip. I have learned to admit my mistakes, and that is one of them. My husband slept for roughly 30 minutes.
