Our legal wedding will be the day before the cruise! Let's just hope it all goes to plan!

Bargain!!
I'm all booked with Meredith now by the way .. very helpful, but we've got ages yet so won't bother her just yet for more info!
Luckily, we're on the Magic this summer in the Med, so we can visit Sessions and speak to the current on board co-ordinator to see whats what and how things will go. meredith has put a 40 person limit on our ceremony, but she said a few extra would probably be fine ... if not, then it'll be 40, I can work with that number.
Jillian .. if I could ask about your music please. How many tunes did you choose and what was the one you would suggest to pay the most attention to for getting right (walk down aisle, first dance etc)?
Thanks
Joa
I work for
and I seriously don't have enough seniority to get 2 weeks off of work!!! Sometimes I see last minute-deals for those repositioning cruises (I want to do transatlantic or panama canal so badly, though!) I don't anticipate DCL will stop going to such great ports, so a repositioning cruise is something I'm going to put on the back burner for the time being!! Besides, I'm already booked for the Fantasy 9/21 Eastern Caribbean this year as my 1-year anniversary/belated honeymoon cruise! We're traveling with close friends of ours who also got married close to when we did! I'm also booked for the Magic SOUTHERN Caribbean cruise in Sept 2014 that starts and ends in San Juan and goes to St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Antigua, Barbados, and Granada!! OMG, such amazing ports!!!
That's exciting that you're now booked and in contact with Meredith! It's exciting to be "official" isn't it? Hmm, for music I did ALL Disney tunes!!! I just had the pianist play because AT THE TIME they said that you could submit sheet music for them to play songs that weren't on the list... but apparently, they've pulled back on this rule! So not fair to future brides! The 3 songs I added were all Disney (or Disney owned!) songs anyways, so I don't see what the big deal is! I chose the Fantasmic theme for our recessional (I worked @ WDW Fantasmic for 4.5 years and we got engaged after DL Fantasmic, so it was something we both were eager about!) At Last I See the Light from Tangled for our first dance (It ALWAYS makes me misty eyed when I hear it now!) and Rainbow Connection... cause I love that song too!! Here's my full 'playlist':
Prelude: *Someday My Prince Will Come & *So This is Love
Grandparent/Parents seating: *Can You Feel the Love Tonight
Bridesmaid/Flower Girl: *A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes
Processional: *A Whole New World
Recessional: *Fantasmic! Theme
Cake Cutting: *When You Wish Upon a Star
First Dance: *At Last I See The Light
Celebration: *Once Upon a Dream, *Kiss the Girl, *Rainbow Connection, *Beauty & The Beast
I wouldn't fuss TOO much over the music, I spent DAYS shuffling and readjusting my playlist- AGONIZING over the order and the significance of the songs to the timing... And I barely remember hearing most of the songs! I remember hearing the first couple bars of "A Whole New World" because it was my processional, but once they opened the doors everything went fuzzy in my memory! I remember hearing our first dance and thinking... WHY did I pick such a long song when I'm such a terrible dancer!??? Then I remember hearing Rainbow Connection, When you Wish Upon a Star, and when he ran out of my music, he played other Disney songs as we mingled...
So, my take on music is this: If you really want to hear it, play it AFTER your processional!!! Also, the aisle is SO short, so they don't get to play much of your song when walking down the aisle. To prolong your song, walk down the aisle SLOWLY! My brother escorted me and he was walking FAST! None of that left-together-right-together footsteps like we're supposed to do! Walk slowly because, YES, we're eager to get to our almost-hubby, but keep your pace slow! It's better for photos and you get more out of your processional song! Also, it suggests 4-5 songs for the celebration portion of your event, but put as many as you can fit in there, because chances are you'll need them!
On embarkation day when you meet your onboard coordinator, you could try to find out who your pianist is! If you can find out when he's playing or find a moment to talk to him, see what other Disney songs he knows! Each pianist is bound to know a variety of songs, even if they're not listed on the planning guide! You never know- it never hurts to ask! My pianist was playing as guests were entering the Dream and I heard him playing At Last I See the Light- I mentioned it to my onboard coordinator, and she said that he was practicing it for our event! It gave me warm fuzzies
Otherwise, they're easily set up for audio if you submit or bring along your own music! You'd have to ask another bride who brought their own music/ CD to see how their experience was... but I loved having the pianist- my dad was a piano tuner and an organ player when I was growing up, so it's an art that I love to hear!
Yikes, I've gone and rambled again!!! Sorry if that got too long winded! Hope my answer helped!
