Madam Mim's F&W/Halloween/3rd Anniversary Pre-Trip Report

Hey! So excited to follow your plans! I'm glad you're staying at CSR again, I loved it there!

And... YAY! FOOD! My DBF thought I was losing the plot with all the ADRs and food-planning! popcorn::

From your list, I've only been to Tusker House for breakfast, which I can't wait to return to in December; Sci-Fi for lunch, which was soooo filling but sooo good; and Le Cellier for lunch - the steak was amazing!

We also did O'hana but for breakfast - the resort istself is enough to make anybody eat there, in my opinion!

I like the idea of trying somewhere different but CSR was so perfect that I'd be gutted going somewhere else and it not being as good - where are you planning to stay for your Dec visit?

I agree... if you love something, do it again!

There will be 12 of us in December so we'll be staying in an offsite villa, near to where we stayed Dec 2010. However, if DBF and I go back just the 2 of us/ as a family, we woukd definately look at staying onsite again! We were spoilt! Xx

Plans sound great so far, you'll be there around the same time as us :)

We LOVE earl of sandwich! It's definitely one of my favourite places to eat. I loved their Hawaiian BBQ sandwich so much that I was craving it when I was pregnant and made DH take me to the one in London just to get my fix LOL!

Looking forward to hearing more :)

I'm in, can't wait to read more! Your plans to visit Canada are awesome- I'd love to visit more of America. We had the big 'once in a lifetime' trip too in 2011 and have missed it so much we are going back this October- whoopee! Like you, but the 30th October.

We have eaten at Tusker House and liked it (although we preferred Akershus and Chef Mickey's by far, have you tried them?) We have also eaten at 'Ohana for breakfast and dinner, and breakfast was lovely but dinner was terrible. The food was awful and the ukelele player was a little tacky for our tastes (plus she was singling out of tune, lol).

Can't wait to read more!!! :)

The good news is we've got 160 days to go and got all the ADRs booked that I/we wanted!
Via Napoli (Dinner)
Tusker House (Breakfast)
Sci Fi (Dinner)
Le Cellier (Dinner)
Prime Time Diner (Lunch)
Kona Cafe (Breakfast)
Biergarten (Dinner)
House of Blues (Dinner)
O'hana (Dinner on our wedding anniversary)
Maya Grill (Dinner)
Be Our Guest (Dinner)
Yak and Yeti (Lunch)

In other news I've been learning to drive for about 10 months and finally I'm about to take my first test next month! I initally hoped last year that I'd be able to rent a car on holiday but I doubt I'll be confident enough by then so Disney buses and Mears it is! :)

I hope to be able to update with much better news soon, in the meantime I plan to watch a lot of youtube videos! :happytv:

Thats a shame you have had to change your plans. We are in a similar situation as DH has been told he is at risk of redundancy (again). It sucks having to change things. Hope you still manage to go :)

Joining in with your PTR! sorry to hear about your plans changing :(

Love your MNSSHP costume idea, Madam Mim is amazing! We did MNSSHP back in 2011 and loved it (big halloween fans!), would love to go again. There's some piccys in my TR if you fancy a nose. Look forward to hearing more! :thumbsup2

Shame about the change of plans but hopefully you will still be able to go. We did 28th sep-16th oct in 2010, I had amazing time esp loved MNSSHP. My bf wanted to go again in sep/oct this time but I was too impatient ;-)
Great to hear you enjoyed CSR, hoping we will like it too as we stayed at Akl last time.

Impatients is one of my virtues too ;) . We went last May which seems a lifetime ago. I'd have liked to go sooner but halloween and food&wine swayed me

Day by Day

As our plans have changed a little bit I'm in the process up updating the first post on this thread so bear with me on that :)

In the meantime here is the plan for our first few days:

28 Sep

Fly from MAN-MCO . Not yet booked, hoping for direct but indirect will be fine.

If time allows we will arrive, check into CSR then head down to DTD to have either WGP express or EoS and have a general look around.

OR-

?

Then back for a quick dip...

29 Sep

Probably breakfast at the Pepper Market then go to MK.

As it's a sunday we won't expect to go on too many rides but we will soak in the atmosphere and take our first look at the new fantasyland!

Our time is then pretty free until the evening when we have an ADR at Via Napoli so we'll spend the evening at EPCOT.

30 Sep

Breakfast at Tusker House and then the morning/afternoon at AK.

Again the afternoon is quite flexible. In the evening we'll got to HS as we have an ADR for the Sci-Fi theatre.

01 Oct

The only thing cemented for this day is dinner at Le Cellier in EPCOT but I would be very much suprised if we didn't spend most of the day at a water park!

We left these til late in our holiday as we underestimated just how fun they are - won't make that mistake again!!!

We loved Tusker House breakfast! We went December 2010 and my Grandad loved it so much it was the first meal he requested when we book for December 2013! Xx

I'm really looking forward to it - it's my first ever character meal - and the only one we have booked this time too. DH was pursuaded by the buffet breakfast and early arrival to AK

You will love your first character meal! That's one of the reasons we love the DDP- 'free' character meals! They are one of my favourite parts of a WDW holiday. The food at Tusker House is wonderful and not typical breakfast fare.

We are also going for Le Cellier for dinner so hope you enjoy that. The chocolate moose dessert looks amazing. ;)

I'm really looking forward to the food almost as much as the parks themselves - but I know I'm not alone in that!

The moose looks great but I heard they dont always do it - I'm looking forward to Le Cellier a lot!

02 Oct

This will be our first of 2 universal days.

As we will not have a car I think we will get the combination tickets from dreamsunlimited that include mears transportation and 2 days of 2 park tickets. We got these last year and despite some poor reviews I'd read were very happy with mears.

We'll spend all day in the two parks going on as many rides as possible!!! The current plan is then to have dinner at Hard Rock Cafe and some drinks in the evening before heading back 'home' ;)

We have kind of fallen into the trap of going to a Hard Rock at every opportunity so I think we've been to about 12 now and I wish I'd collected something like a shot glass from each but it seems a bit too late to start! last year we missed the orlando one so aim to go this year.

03 Oct

On this day we have a lunchtime ADR at the Primetime Diner in HS

then.....

we'll get prepared and go to MNSSHP!!!

SO

EXCITED!

DH is really not one for fancy dress but he has reluctantly agreed although he's going as the default Pirate - although he does have dreads so he's already half way there right?
I puzzled for weeks and settled on madam mim (obviously!) and I'll make a costume nearer the time. It won't be the most impressive or technically difficult costume by a long shot but it will be practical to wear and I'll enjoy it!
I cannot think of anything better than MNSSHP (though I do sigh forlornly when I see the christmas parade pics...)

04 Oct

Today we'll have an early breakfast at Kona Cafe where I'll be having tonga toast without a shadow of a doubt - just hope it lives up to the hype I've been reading about!

The rest of the day is free (cheeky lazy water park day anyone?) right up until the evening when we have dinner at House of Blues in DTD.
I wasn't too bothered about going here but DH was pretty keen - I read the menu it looks great plus we're ideally located to carry on with some drinkies into the evening afterwards too ::yes::

05 Oct
One week into our holiday and I think we'll have covered off quite a lot already! (*Pat myself on the back for such fab planning ;) ) haha!

Although this day is 'flexible' I like the idea of going for breakfast in DTD [probably WGP Express] this day and then getting the bus to the Florida Mall.

In the evening we'll go down to EPCOT and eat at Biergarten then chances are we'l head to the boardwalk to go to either Jellyrolls or Atlantic dancehall

hopefully

ending the evening with something along these lines...

not very flattering... but certainly very fun!
