WBPC May 6th 2013 Wonder

I guess it's nothing but bad news for us here in LA. We got rain tomorrow, and I am sorry to throw this out there, but our great Lakers owner passed away this morning. I am a life long Lakers fan, this season has been tough, and now it just got tougher.

Not much of a basketball fan.... Pro anyway. College yes.... NFL yes. Still sad when anyone passes.

I am a MLB fan first. Dodgers and Angels. Well not the Angels when they play the Dodgers. I live for Baseball. Then a very close second is the NBA. I am a huge Lakers fan. After that NHL. Go Kings Go. Then NCAA basketball followed by NCAA Football. Go Buckeys. Then NFL. Go Broncos.

Our San Diego sports teams are less than amazing, though I remember a couple of exciting seasons in the 90's - one for each. Sad for Buss.

We really miss Maine weather this time of year; still jealous of all of you who have "real Winter."

Someone posted info. re: pastor/services onboard. I had no idea these existed, maybe because our cruises were always Sun. to Sunday?

Heat off.... Temp is on the rise in O-town.

QUOTE=Beauty & the Best;47542666]Yep, I'm in a sweater with the heat on right now! Can't wait until it warms up again.

Yep, here too! It was sweater but no jacket for our afternoon walk with the doggie. Welcome sunshine!!

You and my husband have the same taste in sports - skip the NBA part. Spring Training is a BIG DEAL at our house and we have season tickets to the Lightning. :thumbsup2

Go "Skins" 1st as I was born and raised in D.C. Then go "Dawgs" for the Ga Bulldogs any sport but mostly football.:happytv:

Da Bears. :cheer2: even though we live near Baltimore home of the Super Bowl Ravens.

Booked our flight for the beginning of the cruise. There was a significant difference between flying into MIA and FLL. By flying into FLL we are saving over $160/person. For the two of us I figured that was more than enough to pay for transportation between our FLL hotel (Springhill Suites) to the Port of Miami.

I know that others are flying into FLL as well. How are you getting from there to the port?

We haven't figured out yet if we will take a cab from FLL to a hotel that has a free shuttle to MIA to pick up the Disney bus or what we are doing. I am really upset that they are not offering transfers from FLL

We are also flying into FLL for a significant savings plus free bags. I have hired a private car for the 3 of us to the Marriott Biscayne Bay a lot of people also recommend SAS shuttle.

We used our miles and actually got a better itinerary going into Miami, so we took it. But the other two branches of our family are flying into FLL about the same time despite different airlines, so they booked a shuttle to take them to our Miami hotel. That hotel has a free shuttle to the port for embarkation day.

We are using SAS to get to our hotel in Miami. $15 per person.

Using Jrshuttle for $12 per person. Free shuttle from FLL to hotel, JR from hotel to port.

We are flying into FLL it was significantly cheaper than flying into MIA. We don't land until 10pm the night before so we will take a cab to the hotel, I've read that it's about 45 min and costs around $60 which is reasonable to me. The next day we will take another cab to the port.

:cheer2::banana::cool1: I seriously cannot wait!

We are also flying into FLL and using SAS to hotel. $15.pp
Think we have everything in place. JUst waiting for our passports to get back to us.

Looks like many of us will be flying into FLL. We are too! We are renting a car because we are staying with relatives for a few days before the cruise.
