Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

AHHH! Congrats to Nick! You know, I personally think he should go for Virginia Tech! But I'm not biased or anything... I'm not currently wearing a Virginia Tech crew neck or anything...

I love all the morning park pictures! And I feel like I never see pictures from the inside of Space Mountain so YAY!

Ah... I had to skip a lot of your last update because I've been trying realllly hard to stay spoiler free until I get to see New Fantasyland for myself! So... skipping... skipping... covering my eyes... AH, okay. Aww, those Christmas display pictures are gorgeous! I miss Christmas. :(

Congrats to Nick, and good luck in the decision-making process.

I'm glad you folks got to check out the new Fantasyland. Great pictures of Ariel's Grotto.

Oooo, and some Longwood pics. Sweet! We went at Christmastime also, but I only took a few iPhone pictures...I guess I was just taking it all in.

Congrats to Nick! Let us know what he chooses. :)

I thought the Little Mermaid was cute but I wanted it to be longer. How cool you got in for a soft opening.

I love Longwood Gardens, but missed going last year. Your pictures are beautiful!

I think these might be similar lights like in La Hacienda and the Coronado.

Yes I see Disney Everywhere.

Yes, funny how Disney seems to make that happen! :goodvibes

Disney is the master of the happy ending.

Love the Fantasyland pics. I can't wait to get over there to see the new Fantasyland for myself whenever that will be

I was LOL at your confusion of whether you made rope drop or were with Cynthia!

I really liked the new Little Mermaid ride too! We were able to see it in soft opening in October - I'm trying to remember if this is the day we bumped into you two by the BOG menu sign. Maybe it's yet to come in your TR. Then again, with your memory issues, you might not remember either!

I've never tried LTT. I think I would like it though. One of these days! There's plenty of restaurants left to try.

He has been accepted to Virginia Tech, University of Md, University of Delaware.

That's great! Excellent schools all.

He will be studying engineering and he is somewhat torn between electrical and mechanical at this point. I think he will lean towards a school that has multiple choices of engineering fields.

Not civil? Boo. :rotfl2:

Just remember, you can't spell GEEK without EE. :rolleyes1

Not sure what the standby time was, but it was pretty much a walk on.

Looks like 10 minutes in the picture. Not too shabby!

Hey - is that a new attraction - ride the Bull Dozer?

Now we're talking! :cool1:

Here we had a light bulb moment. We originally had a very late lunch ADR at LTT when we originally had MNSSHP scheduled later in the trip. But then we canceled it. Cynthia decided to check her app and see if we could make a lunch reservation here. And guess what? Score! We got an ADR for 11:30 or 11:40!

Yum! Excellent choice. That Cynthia must be pretty smart or something.:thumbsup2

Score again (that's called a hat trick) and we realized we were IN!

Hockey term approved.:thumbsup2

So what did I think?

I really liked it! It had just the right amount of everything - story, color, movement, visual appeal. It picks up where Nemo left off. Same concept - just 10 or more times better.

I'm really impressed with all the details in the new Fantasyland. Looks like the Imagineers were really on their game.

And beautiful Longwood pictures!

Congratulations to Nick! I'm sure that you're one proud Mom!

Man, you really lucked up that morning.....Space Mountain with no wait, changing your ADR and getting to see the new Fantasyland! I can't wait to see it "in person" when we are there in May.

Congrats to Nick! That is so cool that her got accepted to so many places! Lots of choices is a good thing :)

Good for you for going on that run after the night before!

I love all the lm ride photos! I am pretty sure it is a lot like the one in dlr- but I still can't wait to see it on wdw!

Sadly, my picture of KISS did not turn out at all
As good as the castle and fireworks pictures were, I'm disappointed by the lack of quality KISS pictures. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I had actually never been to Pecos Bills
What???? :scared1:

YUM! This totally hit the spot and I would gladly eat there again.
:thumbsup2

We bid goodbye to Pat and were able to catch a boat fairly soon back to the WL (and for reference I’m pretty positive there isn’t a bus available to the WL, or FW for that matter,. Boat is the only option; it’s just a matter of which boat route so clearly Mary Ellen was more out of it than I realized if she recalls us taking a bus hee hee). It had been a long day and I know I was glad to make it back to the villa, get the wig and tights off and crash! I had an ambitious plan for the morning.
Well, I know there was bus to WL back in 2011... I don't know about during the party hours or not though. :confused3

Congratulations to Nick on his college acceptances. It looks like he'll have a lot of good options to choose from. Take advantage of the time to get in plenty of visits and make a good decision! :thumbsup2

Score again (that's called a hat trick) and we realized we were IN!
Nice!!!

It was a little challenging to get good pictures because the queue was "walking".

Sometimes its nice to have a few more people in the queue just to slow things down. I really try to be aware of slowing down too much to the point where I obstruct the person behind me.
I know what you mean, but great effort anyway! I really love what they've done with the theming around that ride!

Great pictures of the new Fantasyland. I'm glad you were able to get in there and spend so much time in the area during the preview period! :thumbsup2

Congrats to Nick! It is pretty great that he seems to have his pick of schools. :goodvibes DH went to school for electrical engineering as well, although after school, that's not what he really went into and not what he does on a daily basis. Good luck to him with whatever route he chooses! :thumbsup2

On to the updates...I really love your updates because with the way you take pictures, I just feel like I'm on a walking tour of whatever area you are in! And lucky for me, today you took me to the Fantasyland expansion! :rotfl: After reading about it in MANY MANY trip reports, I really couldn't be more excited to get there and see it for myself finally!

I have read some not so enthusiastic reactions to the Little Mermaid ride, but I think the expectations for FLE were SO high that "just" a dark ride does not seem all that great. Seeing it for the first time in the context of Disneyland was really great for me, because it didn't necessarily have all that hype around it so I could enjoy it for what it is...a great dark ride! I'm glad you enjoyed it too! And I can't believe you would insult Ursula like that! I thought everyone was trying to copy that "gigantic jowls" look she has going on! :lmao:

CLVII?

I'd work on more math fun, but I have to re-adjust my pocket protector.:rotfl2:
As Sheldon would reply............

You asking me? Or telling me??:rotfl:

Great job! I guess that makes you King for the Day (of Geekdom)! :cool1:

Your Carriage awaits............ :moped:

:ssst: Be honest.........you had to resort to your slide rule didn't you??? ;)

Congratulations to Nick! I'm sure he'll make the best choice.

I  your pictures of the new Little Mermaid ride. I can't wait to be able to see it myself in June.

The Longwood Garden pictures were beautiful! :thumbsup2

Congrats to Nick! It's good to have lots of choices!

I'm very proud of Nick and Happy that he can now weigh out all his options and make a decision! :goodvibes

Love the FLE....I got to see it in November...very well done!

Jill in CO

You are going to love it. It's really so cool! And November will be here before you know it!

Yeah Nick!!!!!!!!!!! Wonderful to have so many options and time to really evaluate

Thanks! I'm so happy for Nick and glad he has so many choices. Time to get to deciding.

YOU did not make rope drop.

I did.

I even have pictures to prove it

:cool1:

You went for your run and I got to see the opening show for the first time ever. We both rode SM, but separately and met after that.

:lmao: I still only vaguely remember this. I mean - it makes sense. I think I wanted to go for a run because I knew the next day was moving day and I wouldn't. But now that I think about, I really do remember being on Space Mountain myself. Seriously - I am such an airhead. :lmao:

Love the fog picture!

Thanks. I like that picture, too.

Yay for Nick!! What great news!! :goodvibes

I'm really please for Nick. It's nice to see him get settled in and really focused on what he wants to do. I know he will make a good decision.

That's so cool that you were able to explore New Fantasyland! The new Ariel ride looks really cute!

The whole area is really beautiful and the Ariel ride was really well done. I am so glad we timed our trip with a soft opening. :thumbsup2

Congrats to Nick! Glad he has so many good choices to select from! :cool1:

Nice shot from a slightly different perspective!

Thanks! I really like that shot!

:woohoo: for low crowds and the LTT ADR!!!

It was really a perfect day for MK and it was nice to be able to have an impromptu TS meal.

You got some good "walking" queue photos, and some really good ride photos in the low light and with all the movement!

I think there was probably just enough light to get some decent pics. Thanks!

Have to agree! She looks like she has about as much face/head below her lips as she does above them!!! :rotfl2:

:lmao: OMG - you are SO right! Talk about an out of control double chin. Sheesh! :rotfl:

Yes, funny how Disney seems to make that happen! :goodvibes

Disney does know how to do "Happily Ever After".

A lot of nice Christmas pictures from Longwood Gardens! :thumbsup2 Funny how us Disney fanatics are always finding Hidden Mickeys even in everyday life!!!

Thank you and it's so true. I find hidden Mickey's in the craziest places. One morning I found one in my salad that I packed for lunch. :rotfl2:

With all the comments about your memory not being exactly clear what you did, and it being difficult to figure it out from your pictures or lack of them, I was beginning to think I was reading Pat's Horrible TR again...... :lmao:

I totally lost my memory for part of this trip and I can't even blame it on tequila! :rolleyes2

Now while Mary Ellen got up and went for a run, I decided to start my day the way well, the way I start most days on vacation.

With coffee on the verandah!

IMG_1086.jpg

We had a lovely view of...

A service road

IMG_1087.jpg

And a path that I though led around the back side of the villas to the pool.

IMG_1088.jpg

I was on a mission. The opening show and rope drop at the MK. Neither of which I had ever done! Mary Ellen had wanted to go for a run and had seen/done both many a time before. Our plan was to meet up at some point after, whenever she got back and headed over. So off I went!
I’d seen the path around the back of the villas and was convinced that I could cut through. NOT! I ended up getting myself locked out of the exit stairwell and having to go back into the villa lobby to get out the other side. Oops! I do love the walk to the boat; it is one of my absolute favorite things about WL.
