Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

the only one I have and a horrible one at that.

IMG_0584.jpg

I had Fireworks, KISS, skull ( as we ran by), break then the BMTRR, then HM. I can only assume during the break from 9:53- 10:25 is when we ate. :lmao:

Pat, you are a regular detective! I need to figure out how to read the time stamps on my pictures. Maybe I would be more organized. :rotfl:

We did have so much fun and yes we really did NOT have that much to drink. Long days, long night and lots of fun amnesia, that what it was. :thumbsup2

That sounds a lot better than dementia! :rotfl2: I'll take it!

Being new here, I guess I will reserve judgement........... :rotfl:

That's probably best!

I have to agree........ :rolleyes1

Yeah - she's seeing things!

Wonder just how many times people have had a great time at Disney and had to rely on the pictures to remember it.............. :rotfl2:

:lmao: Such a shame..........

I'm sure we aren't the first. :rotfl:

Your story and you're sticking to it.....??? ;)

Why Yes! Yes she is!

Suuuuuuuuure it was....... :goodvibes

I'm buying it!

Joining up for the fun.

I know I am late, but sometimes life gets in the way of dis time, (some good Christmas and a trip to Disney, some bad sick parents).

:welcome: micandmin! Thanks for joining in. Glad you had a nice Christmas and I hope your Disney trip was fabulous. So sorry to hear that your parents aren't in good health. I can relate to that since my parents are elderly and are not in the best of health either.

I was behind...lots of great updates! I am totally jonesing for a MNSSHP now. And for a night ride on BTMRR.

LOVE the fireworks shots. And the costumes.

MNSSHP is so much fun! I really love that parade. I can't imagine ever getting tired of it.

Thanks and thanks - well, we actually have Cynthia to thank for the cool costumes.

So I think it's time for an update, but first some news on the college application front.

Nick's college acceptances are all in. He got accepted to 8 out of the 9 schools he applied to. The 9th was his reach school - Georgia Tech. He is currently deferred there, so we're really not expecting an acceptance. In a way I guess its a good thing because traveling to Atlanta is clearly logistically more complex than going somewhere within driving distance.

He has been accepted to Virginia Tech, University of Md, University of Delaware. He has also received some nice scholarship offers to West Virginia University, and several smaller local schools - Rowan University, University of Scranton, York College, and Elizabethtown College. He will be studying engineering and he is somewhat torn between electrical and mechanical at this point. I think he will lean towards a school that has multiple choices of engineering fields. Although we recently toured York (which basically has no name recognition) and we were very impressed by the engineering facilities and the co-op program. And the machine shop. Very cool place.

So now we are visiting/revisiting all the schools so he can make an informed decision. It's going to be tough to figure this all out over the next couple months. I am very proud of Nick and happy that he has so many choices. Actually too many choices!

So on to the update.........

Fantasy Follies

Well, we made it to October 19th (Day 4). Perhaps its time to do a little recap.

Here goes:

October 16th - Arrival, the Ditch, and dinner in Epcot
October 17th - Storybook Circus, Lunch in Epcot, and F&W
October 18th - Breakfast with Tracy, DISmeet at the R&C, and MNSSHP

This was our last day staying VWL, so we decided to focus all our activities around the MK resort area.

For whoever asked whether I got up and ran, the answer is "yes". How do I know? Well, I took this pretty cool picture along the pathway to Fort Wilderness.

IMG_4312_zps61fe1738.jpg

The fog lifting looked so cool!

Ou rpark plan this morning was MK. Cynthia mentioned rope drop. I'm pretty sure that didn't happen or I would have some pictures. As you can see, my memory of the morning events hasn't improve much. compared to the evening before. But I assure you - it DOES get better.

We took the boat again.

IMG_0360_zps9a556a8e.jpg

I just can't pass up an opportunity to photograph the ferry

IMG_0363_zps7883bfbc.jpg

Our entrance time

IMG_0367_zps7245e05e.jpg

Not bad! But definitely not rope drop material!

It's pretty obvious its a gorgeous day!

IMG_0369_zps865824e0.jpg

How cute is he?

IMG_0366_zps5b1aaf02.jpg

I love this area early in the morning

IMG_0370_zpsd0389380.jpg

Must…. Stop…..For……Castle……Shot…….

IMG_0371_zpsff6a8934.jpg

IMG_0372_zpsff31f2ba.jpg

Where were we headed? Do you need to ask? Why here, of course. We needed to get our ride on!

IMG_0373_zps86a1bb5e.jpg

Not sure what the standby time was, but it was pretty much a walk on.

Tried to get a few pictures, but there really wasn't much time.

IMG_0374_zpsd425c2dd.jpg

IMG_0375_zpsb18ddc88.jpg

We got the coaster on the left. I think. …….. Oh No…..there's goes my memory again!

Looks like I tried a couple cell pictures on the way out.

IMG_4314_zpsccb98cec.jpg

IMG_4315_zps08a4a824.jpg

Next stop was here…….

IMG_0380_zps107d0014.jpg

But as you can see Fantasyland was not open yet! However, a little birdy (aka cast member) told us to come back in about 15 minutes.

So I took a couple pictures

IMG_0381_zps8dd598f6.jpg

Hey - is that a new attraction - ride the Bull Dozer?

IMG_0382_zps17f20461.jpg

Without a clear plan, we walked here. We decided to pick up a FP to Peter Pan while we walked by.

IMG_0383_zps5dc2e95a.jpg

You can tell the crowds were still pretty low

IMG_0385_zpsf9eff9e3.jpg

IMG_0386_zps50fbfc06.jpg

IMG_0389_zps950d7fd7.jpg

Here we had a light bulb moment. We originally had a very late lunch ADR at LTT when we originally had MNSSHP scheduled later in the trip. But then we canceled it. Cynthia decided to check her app and see if we could make a lunch reservation here. And guess what? Score! We got an ADR for 11:30 or 11:40!

I guess we went in the Christmas Shoppe, or maybe not, and then we decided to head back to Fantasyland and……guess what? SCORE again! WE were in!

On the way back

IMG_0390_zps58d98e94.jpg

And in

IMG_0391_zpsf961382c.jpg

Nothing like a soft opening to amp up the photo taking efficiency

IMG_0393_zps54c1e04e.jpg

Neat! I have about 100 more pictures of this fountain, but since this is the first one I took, I'll post it.

IMG_0394_zpscf8cc940.jpg

We hung a right and headed over to the Little Mermaid attraction with high hopes that it would be open.

Continued in Next Post.........

Looks like a little PR filming was going on,

IMG_0395_zps24ca2937.jpg

Score again (that's called a hat trick) and we realized we were IN!

IMG_0396_zps406b42e7.jpg

More filming

IMG_0397_zpsba889d06.jpg

Entering the queue

IMG_0398_zpsf4437a79.jpg

Going in

IMG_0400_zps5b77a582.jpg

Pretty

IMG_0401_zps32887f4d.jpg

It was a little challenging to get good pictures because the queue was "walking".

IMG_0403_zpsb08c2c04.jpg

IMG_0408_zpsda3c6720.jpg

IMG_0405_zps1cef6320.jpg

IMG_0406_zpsd31d02ab.jpg

Sometimes its nice to have a few more people in the queue just to slow things down. I really try to be aware of slowing down too much to the point where I obstruct the person behind me.

Looks like we are inside now…….

IMG_0409_zps0142f09d.jpg

"Well hello there beautiful"

IMG_0420_zps1c045ec9.jpg

Hey - where'd you come from?

IMG_0423_zpsa55c0a5a.jpg

We are obviously in our clam now

So what did I think?

I really liked it! It had just the right amount of everything - story, color, movement, visual appeal. It picks up where Nemo left off. Same concept - just 10 or more times better.

Looking back I wish I had gone right back on it. I know there are so many details that I would have liked to see again.

Back outside - where they were filming before…..

Up Next…..How this trip report got it's name.

Since I have a little extra room, I thought I would post a couple of the pictures I took at Longwood Gardens during their Christmas Display

Your Hallowishes pics are very pretty! And I love the Photopass pics!

ETWB just doesn't appeal to me. I really dislike the idea of it. A friend of mine recently went and her daughter (who is 7) really disliked it as well.

I am excited to experience the Little Mermaid ride though! It looks great!

And :cool1: for getting the LTT ADR!

Best of luck to Nick on the whole college thing! Maybe Georgia Tech will come through! That's where my DH graduated from!

Congratulations to Nick! Sounds like he has a bright future ahead of him :thumbsup2

I :lovestruc all the pictures from the Little Mermaid! They made me even more excited for May! Caitlin and I had already decided we have to ride twice in a row to make sure we catch all the details! Can't wait!

Thanks! Hallowishes is such a great show. I really love it!

Really? That's interesting, but 7 is one of those inbetween ages kids are very opinionated so maybe that's why. I would like to give it another chance.

I am excited to experience the Little Mermaid ride though! It looks great!

It really was so pretty. I'm not sure why we didn't go a second time. I can't wait to ride it again.

And :cool1: for getting the LTT ADR!

That was pretty cool. I enjoy that place and we decided why the heck not. With the TIW card its only a little more expensive than counter service and its nice to get waited on. lol!

Best of luck to Nick on the whole college thing! Maybe Georgia Tech will come through! That's where my DH graduated from!

They say only 1 in 5 deferrals get in. I guess you can't be too disappointed with a deferral. It means you are good enough to get in, but there are just that many more people in front of you that have better stats. I know the school has an amazing rep. I think he learned that if you want certain schools you have to set yourself up before your senior year. It was really a last minute decision for him to apply.

Congratulations to Nick! Sounds like he has a bright future ahead of him :thumbsup2

Thanks Dawn! I am very happy for him. He worked hard in high school and it paid off.

I :lovestruc all the pictures from the Little Mermaid! They made me even more excited for May! Caitlin and I had already decided we have to ride twice in a row to make sure we catch all the details! Can't wait!

You are going to love it. There's so much to see. I don't think my photos even scratch the surface. I can't wait to ride it again in June. It's really pretty!

Congrats to Nick! It's good to have lots of choices!

Love the FLE....I got to see it in November...very well done!

Jill in CO

Yeah Nick!!!!!!!!!!! Wonderful to have so many options and time to really evaluate

For whoever asked whether I got up and ran, the answer is "yes". How do I know? Well, I took this pretty cool picture along the pathway to Fort Wilderness.

YOU did not make rope drop.

I did.

I even have pictures to prove it

:cool1:

You went for your run and I got to see the opening show for the first time ever. We both rode SM, but separately and met after that.

Love the fog picture!

Yay for Nick!! What great news!! :goodvibes

That's so cool that you were able to explore New Fantasyland! The new Ariel ride looks really cute!

So I think it's time for an update, but first some news on the college application front.

Nice shot from a slightly different perspective!

:woohoo: for low crowds and the LTT ADR!!!

It was a little challenging to get good pictures because the queue was "walking".
You got some good "walking" queue photos, and some really good ride photos in the low light and with all the movement!

Ursula really IS pretty unattractive. Just sayin'

IMG_0457_zpsbbe5abaf.jpg
Have to agree! She looks like she has about as much face/head below her lips as she does above them!!! :rotfl2:

ahhhhhhhhh….. True Love!

There ain't nothing better than Happily Ever After…….

Yes, funny how Disney seems to make that happen! :goodvibes

A lot of nice Christmas pictures from Longwood Gardens! :thumbsup2 Funny how us Disney fanatics are always finding Hidden Mickeys even in everyday life!!!

With all the comments about your memory not being exactly clear what you did, and it being difficult to figure it out from your pictures or lack of them, I was beginning to think I was reading Pat's Horrible TR again...... :lmao:

Haha. I'm reading this at band practice. I completely forgot we went and different times. T told you there is SO much I cant remember about this trip. I don't know if that's good or bad, meaning everything was so spontaneous or I really am suffering from dementia. :faint:

Congrats to Nick getting all the accepts. My son who went to Montana had Virginia Tech on his short list of schools. They have a good mining engineering course.

A few years ago filming was being done at TTofT. That was interesting as filming was inside at the line queue. Also when on our first cruise which was Carnival, a commercial with Kathy Lee Gifford was being made. They were all over the ship and at the ports of call.

Congrats, Nick! How awesome that he has so many options!

The Little Mermaid looks great...I'm so glad New Fantasyland includes a traditional type of dark ride, I think they moved away from that too much in the past decade or so.

And LTT just may be my favorite place to eat at WDW. My jealousy continues... ;)

If that is the horrible side effect to having a great trip, not remembering what you did when , join the club. :rotfl2:

I can't help you here - I was on my way home. :crazy2:

Congrats to Nick!!!! So many choice - another great problem to have. You must be so proud of him!!!
