Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

I was back on page 143 and spent the last several hours catching up. Just like a good book!

I've been wondering how you and River were doing so I'm glad that you posted.

A couple things I wanted to comment on:

I watched the video of Jesse's dad and yes he does seem like a very good man. I guess that's where Jesse gets it from!

Jesse certainly takes after his dad and has a big old heart of gold.

How is John's mom doing? Is she listening to her doctor?

So far, so good. She says that she is still numb or tingly on one side but she's started physical therapy.

I liked your ice pictures and we might wake up to something like that in the morning because IT'S SNOWING IN MYRTLE BEACH RIGHT NOW! :yay: I love the snow! Maybe we'll get a whole inch:rotfl2: we were so excited we all put our coats and boots on over our pajamas and walked around the block. Did I mention we like snow?

Snow! Snow! Snow! We haven't had snow in a two or three years and even then it was only an inch or two.

I enjoyed seeing all your Christmas pics. River is spoiled too and he's an only child so he gets all the loot.

I'm such a sucker for holidays!

Those snake pics from Mouse Gears were pretty exciting. You sure never have a dull tr.

I told John that the snake would make for a good trip report tale.

I LOL'd about John falling on a sticker.

We laughed so hard when he fell into that flower bed. We giggled all the way back to the resort.

Wow that's great you are going to have such a big family group at Disney!

One of my friends asked if they would be in my trip report next year and I told her that I wasn't sure. Three of them read my reports so they will either get in on the fun or run for the hills and hide. :rotfl:

OK I gotta go look out the window at the snow now!

I hope that you went out and played in it!

Fun breakfast at Whispering Canyon! I really need to try to get more Breakfast ADR's. All the TS breakfast pics I see on the DIS look so yummy!

We aren't real big breakfast eaters but I'm glad that we decided to go to Whispering Canyon because it was really good.

Loving you report! I have not read all of it yet. But I can't wait!

Hey! I'm so very glad that you came over to read. Please please feel free to comment as you read along.

I am starving here and seeing your all you car to eat platter has made my stomach really growl. That looks delicisous! I hope the rain stops for you on your last day.

Cute back packs!!!

Good morning my talented friend!!! Those back sacks are awesome and you always surprise me with all you do!

I just wanted to stop in and let you know I am still here and say

Look who is talking Mrs. I Do So Much Each And Every Day! :rotfl:

I hope your week is as amazing as you, because then it will be GREAT! :goodvibes

Aww Thank You!

We did too! The funny thing was pete, the girls and I ate dinner later that week at Ruby Tuesdays (the boys were at Disney Quest) and our server worked at WC also. As the meal progressed and he asked us where we had eaten on property we told him (We only ate there, it was our big "splurge"). He knew exactly who the waitress was before we ever told him her name. He threw straws at us when we asked for them and brought us LOTS of ketchup, but it jst wasn't the dame. But he DID get a great tip! :thumbsup2

Bless the waiters heart, he was trying to make the experience a good one for you.

Yeah, the food pictures do look pretty good right about now. Those three peanut butter crackers that I had when I got to the office are long gone.

I thought that the backsacks turned out so cute. I've gotten quite a few more made already, just need to retake pictures.

Good morning and Happy President's Day! Hopefully, some of you are enjoying your day off work. Unfortunately, I am AT work. Oh well, at least I have a job which is a blessing in this day and time.

John worked on his brother's house all weekend long. They are getting so messed over by their contractor and have already paid him over $5,000.00 more than what was budgeted at this point. :crazy2: The days are getting longer which means more daylight so John may be working in the evenings too.

Yesterday afternoon, it was my turn to take Hunter out driving. There's an elementary school not far from our house and it has a really big loop and lots of driving space so we went there first. There's also a baseball park nearby and we know a backroad to get to it so there's not a lot of traffic.

We decided to drive out to my brother and sister-in-laws house which is kinda-sorta in the country. It's about 20 miles away. I drove the interstate portion and Hunter drove the rest of the way. On the way home, we took a different route and he drove all the way home. He did very well and I didn't have to yell at him or swat at him or grab the wheel. :lmao: Seriously, he did really good. It was his first time driving my SCAR so he was a little nervous since he's used to driving his dad's truck.

He has to have at least 50 hours of driving under his belt before July, 2013, or he can't get his driver's license. In Louisiana, you can't just get your license on your 16th birthday. You have to have a learner's permit for 6 months even if that means that your 16th birthday falls in the middle of that 6 months. At least we'll have time to get the 50 hours in. I have a feeling that it's going to take a while to get them all.

Oh well, I need to get busy shuffling paperwork. The boss hasn't made it in yet...ah, the benefit of being your own boss. He does have an appointment this afternoon so maybe I can get an installment written while he's busy.

TTFN!

I feel your pain, I work today too. But I agree that I'm happy to have a job!

Louisiana's laws sound similar to MD's, or at least what they were when I got my license. You had to do a certified drivers ed course, have your learners for I believe at least 4 months (and you couldn't get that until you were at least 15 yrs, 9 months, so it was impossible to get your license right at 16) and at least 8 hours driving with a certified instructor and 40 independently. And you had 6 months to do the course and all driving time in or you'd have to start all over. Good luck to Hunter!!

You are much better than my mother was when I learned to drive! She took me one time while I was getting my 40 hours in, and freaked out the whole time: grabbing the wheel, slamming her foot down like she had a brake on her side, constantly telling me to do different stuff, etc. I refused to drive with her as the passenger again after that because she had me so stressed. And I was a great driver, even my instructor said I was one of the best drivers he had in his 15 years of doing it! My father did the rest with me, and all of it for both my younger sisters. :rotfl2:

Good luck to John too, getting his brother's house done right.

The DMV didn't tell us that we had to keep a log of Hunter's driving time but I certainly am. I'd hate for him to go to get his license and they ask for proof of the 50 hours. Back when I got my license, you only had to be 15, pass the written and driving exam. That was it!

John has taken Hunter driving twice on the same route that I took him minus the trip to the in-laws. I got tickled at Hunter describing driving with his dad. He said "Dad makes my pits sweat!" :rotfl2: John can't hear very well so he talks a bit loud and all of the McBrides are gruff talkers so those two combined make for sweaty pits, I guess. :lmao:

I made a conscious effort not to raise my voice and to talk and act calmly yesterday. Thankfully, he didn't do anything that required me biting my tongue. :p

I had to keep a log. In fact they give you one at the drivers ed course that you have to turn in when you go for your license. It was detailed too, you had to have time you started driving each trip, time stopped, passengers name and signature each driving trip, at least two of the roads you drove on, etc. Good idea to keep one for him to be safe!

Love the backsacks! Those are so cute!

Good luck with the driving. I really think that is one of the most stressful part of the teenage years!

Our DD will be taking driver's ed this next year at school. She will be 15 this April but will not be able to have a permit or work towards a license until her class starts. She couldn't get into the summer or fall semester at school (too many kids with birthdays before hers), so that puts her behind. Guess it's OK for me. :rolleyes1 Teaching someone to drive is not something I look forward to. DH will have to do this. I get too nervous with someone else driving and know I will just make her a basket case. IL has a similar law with having to log hours. They also are not allowed to drive with other kids in the car that aren't related. (I think 1 may be allowed, but no more-will have to be better educated re: all these rules very soon) Plus, she is short. Not sure she'll ven be able to reach the pedals.:lmao:

I had to chuckle reading about you taking Hunter driving. I remember doing that with my son.He drove too fast and didn't slow down on the off ramps and I was a nervous wreck. He is 35 and I still don't like to drive with him! My daughter was easier.

I'm behind...again.

You got, as always, some beautiful pictures of the Caribbean.

I can't believe you don't like the Ferry Boat. I try to take that every trip over the monorail. :)

Jesse is too funny on the boat over to the WL.

I'm glad you had a good server at the WCC. When we went in 2008 our server was horrible (and so was the food...we won't be going back).

I love the cute backpacks you made...very nice. I wish I had a talent like that.

I'd LOVE to try WCC for Breakfast!! It looks sooo yummy!! We loved our lunch there!!! :goodvibes

When I was in HS, I was one of the LAST of my friends to get a REAL Driver's License at 16. I didn't even have to have a permit, but my parents wanted me to have one. All of my friends that were younger than me, had to have the permit for a year and a day and then you get a "provisional" license at 16. If you get caught speeding a certain amount before 18, you will just lose your license- they aren't playing!!! They also have a driving curfew for the provisional license as well. Needless to say, I was the one driving us all around!

My DD just got her licences last week! Actually she is a pretty good driver. But the COST to have her and my DS on our insurance policy...OH BOY... I can't wait until DS can afford to get his on policy... It's mandatory that you carry insurance here in Wisconsin.. you can get some pretty big fines if you don't.

Too funny!!! I enjoy the boat from the GF to MK during the day but last summer when my sister and I were going back to the Poly from MK after extra magic hours the bugs were insane! They coated the inside of the boat and you couldnt open you mouth for anything well because....well lets just say you would get a little bug snack

Were staying at the WL this summer for the first time! Love the Whispering Canyon two times ago we had MT Wallet as a server and she was awesome!!!!

Dude! Seriously? Who has that kind of money?

As I said when I left off, it was sprinkling a little and we weren’t sure if we needed to put on our ponchos or wait and see if it would stop. :confused3 It didn’t completely stop but it did turn to just a few sprinkles here and there so the ponchos stayed in the backsack. The boat came shortly and we were on our way to the Magic Kingdom! :sail:

DSCF4035.jpg

It was sprinkling still when we arrived but, again, not enough to want to take out the dreaded ponchos. Lacey and I went through bag check and met back up with the guys and were quickly in the parks and seeing this. Just look at the beauty of those tarp facades! NOT! At least they did make them look like the outside of buildings and not just ugly plain tarps.

DSCF4036.jpg

It was pretty busy on Main Street:

but we were able to wiggle our way through the people. Something quite lovely caught my eye and I had to stop and take a picture because this little beauty will probably never go home with me. Take a look-see at the price tag: :scared1:

So, if I couldn’t afford the castle, could I at least have Cinderella’s carriage wrapped up for me?

DSCF4041.jpg

That would be a N-O! Actually, not a N-O but a “Are you freaking kidding me N-O?” Jesse was amazed that the glasswork was actually for sale and that’s when he uttered the words “Dude, Are you kidding me? Who has that kind of money?”

How ‘bout Tom Cruise who brought little Suri or possibly Eli Manning after he proclaimed “I’m going to Disney World!” or maybe, just maybe, Paula Abdul when she met up with Minnie outside of the castle? Wait, I take that back, Paula’s not A-List anymore. Sorry Paula, I love ya honey :lovestrucbut it’s true.

Our credit cards breathing a sigh of relief, we continued on down Main Street and through the Main Street Bakery construction:

We turned by The Plaza and cut through the Tomorrowland Noodle Station and stopped to take a picture:

DSCF4047.jpg

Where to? How about we pop in and see John’s Not So Favorite Blue Alien:

DSCF4049.jpg

John went in kicking and screaming but knew that he had to take one for the team since Jesse had never been in Stitch’s Great Escape. We entered the queue area and waited about a minute before they opened the doors to the pre-pre-show area. You know that area where they do the little film clip thing before sending you in to see the guy who oils his pants. Yeah, in there. Pre-pre-show done and then pre-shown done, we went into the theater and were soon being jumped on, burped on and spit on. I am not a huge fan of the attraction but, still, I think that it’s worth going to see once per trip.

After Stitch, we couldn’t decide what to do next. Laugh Floor or Buzz Lightyear? We walked over to The Laugh Floor and the castmember said that a show had just started so we decided to go on to Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin.

DSCF4050.jpg

See those ponchos? It had started raining again. We hopped in the Buzz Lightyear line and stayed dry for the most part. There’s a section or two in the line that was uncovered but we stayed back until we could walk through the area quickly.

We boarded our....our....hey, what are the vehicle things called in Buzz Lightyear? I guess I’ll just say our space vehicle. I was in a vehicle by myself and I started out trying to take pictures but realized that my score wasn’t moving when I had one hand on the camera and another on the laser gun.

It was still raining when we left Buzz and we didn’t feel like walking around in the rain so we jogged over to the People Mover:

DSCF4070.jpg

DSCF4071.jpg

Because there were so many people taking shelter on the People Mover, they weren’t allowing anyone to stay on and make another loop. It seemed as good a time as any to go see the new showing of The Laugh Floor:

DSCF4072.jpg

Jesse was chosen, again, as one of the people on the screen and he was as excited as a little boy on Christmas morning. :hyper: So excited that he told Lacey that he wanted to turn right back around and see the next show. John and I decided to sit this one out and waited outside for them. This was our view:

DSCF4073.jpg

By the time they came from the theater, it was raining pretty hard. We put it to a vote and it was unanimous decision to head back to the resort, eat lunch and then come back to the Magic Kingdom later. Hopefully, we could get some rest, freshen up and even begin our packing since this was our last day. :( We made our way back the way we came...Tomorrowland Noodle Station, Main Street, past the ugly facade tarp and to the bus stop. By the time we made it, our feet were soaking wet. Ugh!

**Up next: Dining to the whirl of straw fans and the beat of steel drums
