I was back on page 143 and spent the last several hours catching up. Just like a good book!
I've been wondering how you and River were doing so I'm glad that you posted.
A couple things I wanted to comment on:
I watched the video of Jesse's dad and yes he does seem like a very good man. I guess that's where Jesse gets it from!
Jesse certainly takes after his dad and has a big old heart of gold.
How is John's mom doing? Is she listening to her doctor?
So far, so good. She says that she is still numb or tingly on one side but she's started physical therapy.
I liked your ice pictures and we might wake up to something like that in the morning because IT'S SNOWING IN MYRTLE BEACH RIGHT NOW! I love the snow! Maybe we'll get a whole inch we were so excited we all put our coats and boots on over our pajamas and walked around the block. Did I mention we like snow?
Snow! Snow! Snow! We haven't had snow in a two or three years and even then it was only an inch or two.
I enjoyed seeing all your Christmas pics. River is spoiled too and he's an only child so he gets all the loot.
I'm such a sucker for holidays!
Those snake pics from Mouse Gears were pretty exciting. You sure never have a dull tr.
I told John that the snake would make for a good trip report tale.
I LOL'd about John falling on a sticker.
We laughed so hard when he fell into that flower bed. We giggled all the way back to the resort.
Wow that's great you are going to have such a big family group at Disney!
One of my friends asked if they would be in my trip report next year and I told her that I wasn't sure. Three of them read my reports so they will either get in on the fun or run for the hills and hide.
OK I gotta go look out the window at the snow now!
Fun breakfast at Whispering Canyon! I really need to try to get more Breakfast ADR's. All the TS breakfast pics I see on the DIS look so yummy!
Loving you report! I have not read all of it yet. But I can't wait!
Good morning my talented friend!!! Those back sacks are awesome and you always surprise me with all you do!
I just wanted to stop in and let you know I am still here and say
Look who is talking Mrs. I Do So Much Each And Every Day!
We did too! The funny thing was pete, the girls and I ate dinner later that week at Ruby Tuesdays (the boys were at Disney Quest) and our server worked at WC also. As the meal progressed and he asked us where we had eaten on property we told him (We only ate there, it was our big "splurge"). He knew exactly who the waitress was before we ever told him her name. He threw straws at us when we asked for them and brought us LOTS of ketchup, but it jst wasn't the dame. But he DID get a great tip!

I am starving here and seeing your all you car to eat platter has made my stomach really growl. That looks delicisous! I hope the rain stops for you on your last day.
Cute back packs!!!
I feel your pain, I work today too. But I agree that I'm happy to have a job!
Louisiana's laws sound similar to MD's, or at least what they were when I got my license. You had to do a certified drivers ed course, have your learners for I believe at least 4 months (and you couldn't get that until you were at least 15 yrs, 9 months, so it was impossible to get your license right at 16) and at least 8 hours driving with a certified instructor and 40 independently. And you had 6 months to do the course and all driving time in or you'd have to start all over. Good luck to Hunter!!
You are much better than my mother was when I learned to drive! She took me one time while I was getting my 40 hours in, and freaked out the whole time: grabbing the wheel, slamming her foot down like she had a brake on her side, constantly telling me to do different stuff, etc. I refused to drive with her as the passenger again after that because she had me so stressed. And I was a great driver, even my instructor said I was one of the best drivers he had in his 15 years of doing it! My father did the rest with me, and all of it for both my younger sisters.
Good luck to John too, getting his brother's house done right.
mickeystoontown said:The DMV didn't tell us that we had to keep a log of Hunter's driving time but I certainly am. I'd hate for him to go to get his license and they ask for proof of the 50 hours. Back when I got my license, you only had to be 15, pass the written and driving exam. That was it!
John has taken Hunter driving twice on the same route that I took him minus the trip to the in-laws. I got tickled at Hunter describing driving with his dad. He said "Dad makes my pits sweat!" John can't hear very well so he talks a bit loud and all of the McBrides are gruff talkers so those two combined make for sweaty pits, I guess.
I made a conscious effort not to raise my voice and to talk and act calmly yesterday. Thankfully, he didn't do anything that required me biting my tongue.
Good morning and Happy President's Day! Hopefully, some of you are enjoying your day off work. Unfortunately, I am AT work. Oh well, at least I have a job which is a blessing in this day and time.
Yesterday afternoon, it was my turn to take Hunter out driving. There's an elementary school not far from our house and it has a really big loop and lots of driving space so we went there first. There's also a baseball park nearby and we know a backroad to get to it so there's not a lot of traffic.
We decided to drive out to my brother and sister-in-laws house which is kinda-sorta in the country. It's about 20 miles away. I drove the interstate portion and Hunter drove the rest of the way. On the way home, we took a different route and he drove all the way home. He did very well and I didn't have to yell at him or swat at him or grab the wheel. Seriously, he did really good. It was his first time driving my SCAR so he was a little nervous since he's used to driving his dad's truck.
He has to have at least 50 hours of driving under his belt before July, 2013, or he can't get his driver's license. In Louisiana, you can't just get your license on your 16th birthday. You have to have a learner's permit for 6 months even if that means that your 16th birthday falls in the middle of that 6 months. At least we'll have time to get the 50 hours in. I have a feeling that it's going to take a while to get them all.
TTFN!
