Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love the update. Wonder if they still do the skillet for breakfast? I know they don't for lunch. Looks like a nice combination. All the breakfast pics look yummy. Glad you had a great server!

Okay, my friends, I need some help. We have friends (they were Lacey & Jesse's Mission leaders and was the pastor who married them) who will be traveling to Walt Disney World to see the Christmas decorations. They are still undecided on what dates to go and are considering either Nov 22-25 or Dec 20-23. Any idea which would be the best time to go as far as crowds go. They have school age children so they need to work around the kids' schedules.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know from personal experience, but I would guess that the November dates would be less crowded. Although Thanksgiving is a very crowded time, the November dates are before most of the schools have a few days break. In December, the days they are staying are the start of the Christmas break for a lot of schools, so I'm guessing the crowds will be pretty heavy leading up to Christmas at the World.

The Nov dates you mentioned are the week before Thanksgiving. The week in Dec is close to the busiest week of the year. I have read alot about that time period as we are going 11/30-12/7 as you know. From what I have heard there are no discounts after 12/15/ The only thing is all the decorations may not be up but most will be. Discounts for that time usually come out in July

Both dates are over weekends, therefore they will have the locals, but I think they would be better off with the Nov dates. Both will have the arrivals coming in on Sun. for the holiday week, but I think the Nov dates may be less as some families do still wait the week of Thanksgiving until Tues or Wed as kids still have half that week for school.
The Christmas tree at the MK will not be up during the Nov. dates if that is a concern. It doesn't go up until after the parade taping which is usually somewhere around the 3rd-5th of Dec.
We were there the week after Thanksgiving and the majority of the decorations were in place (and the Christmas party is well underway).

Oh, and I don't remember how many bottles of ketchup ended up on our table, but we still had just a little bit of room for our plates. ;)

Since Thanksgiving is Nov. 28, I would think that the November date would be better than their December dates. We were there in early November and by the 8th the parks were decorated. The big thing I think they might miss out on by going before Thanksgiving is the Candlelight Processional. In 2012 it started the day after Thanksgiving.

Thank you all so much! I forwarded a copy of your responses to my friends. Since they have kids' schedules to work around, I know that they are limited on when they can go. It sounds like November may be best for them.

okay so um don't mind me but...... I don't know how to resize so here it comes.......

Thank You! I hope that you had a great Valentine's Day!

The bear on the coat rack thingy.

When you ever said it would fit right in with your decor, I'm think "Goodness, what is the decorating theme at that woman's house????" ;)

Oh I see it now! :lmao:

Finally caught up on your trip report! Your pictures are great and add a lot to your TR!

We are headed to the World in June before DH heads to Afghanistan. Currently booked at Shades of Green, but seriously considering moving to CBR with the military discount. We are taking my nephew and our 4 year old great nephew for his first trip!

Yay for getting caught up! Please tell your husband that I appreciate all that he has done and continues to do for our country! :worship:

The CBR is such a beautiful resort and I think that your nephews are a great age to enjoy the resort.

I didn't realize that they clowned around at breakfast at WCC. I knew they did at dinner -- we had fun in 2007 but the food wasn't worth the price of the entertainment for us so we haven't been back. Maybe I should think about a breakfast visit.

I wasn't sure if they did either but our waitress was spot on. Loved it!

Fun update Lisa! I love how much fun Jesse and Hunter have together. That must really warm you and Lacey's hearts.

I've always thought about trying WCC (but I didn't really know they did breakfast-not that we're allowed to do breakfasts that characters don't attend). I think that WCC always looks like so much fun! and Bryan loves ketchup so . . . :rotfl:

We've only ever been to WL for the Hoop. I think I feel the same about it that you do about the Port Orleans resorts. When you live as close to Wisconsin as we do, you've seen that kind of place a lot. The lobby does look exceptional though, we'll make our way over there someday. That's the great thing about Disney-it'll take years to do everything you want to!

I was wondering-did you write a follow up email when you had the pin code issues? I'm trying to figure out if I should write an email, or just move on. Thanks Lisa!

It really does warm my heart that Hunter and Jesse get along so well. I think that it helped that he knew Jesse before he was Lacey's boyfriend. He was just another "Mission kid" to Hunter back then.

The Wilderness Lodge is beautiful but we aren't blown away by it. But, we do live in a log home in the country so, while our house is certainly not as grand as WL, it's not something "new" or "unusual" to us.

I did send an email to Disney about the pin code issues that I had. I was contacted by a supervisor who tried to make things right but the deal wasn't good enough to take it. Since then, I've been told that the castmembers can't tell you what the discount/offer is. They can only give you a quote. They wouldn't even give me the Pin Code Number. :confused3

Happy Valentine's Day!

I think that the skillet is still on the breakfast menu. I certainly hope so because that was John's favorite.

I love WL and eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe!

The last day at Disney is always a little sad.

We've eaten at Whispering Canyon quite a few times, mostly for dinner, and we've always enjoyed it.

Good morning! I wanted to share pictures of the two custom order backsacks that I mailed off earlier this week. They turned out so cute!

I have a bunch of other backsacks made and I took pictures of them but the colors are off in the pictures so I'm going to try and get pictures outside today so that there's natural lighting. Once I have them taken and uploaded to photobucket, I'll post them.

Speaking of backsacks, mine will be taking a trip next week. Wonder where in the world it will be (and it's not the World).

I love the backsack I ordered from Lisa. When I am back, I will post a picture of it from our destination.

Thanks for the review of my backsacks Dee! I love taking them on trips because you can smoosh so much into one and just sling it over your back. Now you've got me wondering....where will your backsack be? I'm excited to hear!

I was back on page 143 and spent the last several hours catching up. Just like a good book!

A couple things I wanted to comment on:

I watched the video of Jesse's dad and yes he does seem like a very good man. I guess that's where Jesse gets it from!

How is John's mom doing? Is she listening to her doctor?

I liked your ice pictures and we might wake up to something like that in the morning because IT'S SNOWING IN MYRTLE BEACH RIGHT NOW! :yay: I love the snow! Maybe we'll get a whole inch:rotfl2: we were so excited we all put our coats and boots on over our pajamas and walked around the block. Did I mention we like snow?

I enjoyed seeing all your Christmas pics. River is spoiled too and he's an only child so he gets all the loot.

Those snake pics from Mouse Gears were pretty exciting. You sure never have a dull tr.

I LOL'd about John falling on a sticker.

Wow that's great you are going to have such a big family group at Disney!

OK I gotta go look out the window at the snow now!

Fun breakfast at Whispering Canyon! I really need to try to get more Breakfast ADR's. All the TS breakfast pics I see on the DIS look so yummy!

Good morning my talented friend!!! Those back sacks are awesome and you always surprise me with all you do!

I just wanted to stop in and let you know I am still here and say

I hope your week is as amazing as you, because then it will be GREAT! :goodvibes

I hate to hear that your waitress didn't get into character. I thought they were all supposed to do that. :confused3

We did too! The funny thing was pete, the girls and I ate dinner later that week at Ruby Tuesdays (the boys were at Disney Quest) and our server worked at WC also. As the meal progressed and he asked us where we had eaten on property we told him (We only ate there, it was our big "splurge"). He knew exactly who the waitress was before we ever told him her name. He threw straws at us when we asked for them and brought us LOTS of ketchup, but it jst wasn't the dame. But he DID get a great tip! :thumbsup2
