Surprised the kids, wife, and my readers w/ a 2 week trip to AoA!(*NEW* 11-7)

Dan, a short update is better than no update! Just ask Marv. :lmao::lmao:

Good call on not going to ride Dinosaur first thing.;)

Great picture of the elephant and my favorite giraffes.

Breakfast looks yummy
well he hasnt had one this whole year yet so why start now.:lmao:

you would have loved that ride that morning they were everywhere giraffes as far as you could see. it was a good treat, one of the first times we have ever eaten a breakfast pastry in the parks.

Looks like Candi is getting her "mom look" on! :goodvibes
well at least that mom look isnt aimed at me.:thumbsup2 looks like it is going right past me. towards the safari ride entrance.

A short update better than none for sure :goodvibes

Good move not taking parker on the dinosaur ride :rotfl:

Nice photos on the safari :thumbsup2
thanks, i knew i could prob get him on the ride if i tried hard enough but then he would never trust me again for any ride...so it was safe to keep him off it this time.
thanks i was happy with the safari photos also.

Love the Safari pics! You can never have too many. Personally, I think the Safari is the best themed, most interactive attraction in all of Disney World.

I just have to say that your results on the lion picture look similar to mine. :rotfl2: As many times as I have been on Safari, I still don't have a picture of the entire lion. :faint:
it is a great ride i have always loved it. i would take that over everest any day.

must have been the animatronic lion that morning, but your right i usually get the head or back never a whole body.

Love all your safari pics! I agree with a PP- you can never have too many! It seems like those are the pictures the family and friends always enjoy seeing too. Looks like you had a great first round on the ride with lots of animals out. I love how scenic AK is, so I can't wait to see more of your pictures!

thanks, i really enjoy taking them too, we end up with hundreds from teh ride throughout the day and enjoy looking at all of them.

I so agree Marv 's updates are soooo short I haven't seen them:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Great Safari pix Dan !!! I usually either have someone's head or totally miss the animal I am trying to take:rotfl2:
well done rosie, i have to say one of the funniest comments you have ever made.:lmao:

sounds like you need a new fast photo taking camera..either that or pay me to go with you on your trips, i would be your personal group photo taker...:thumbsup2

i really like that rhino pic,it's a different sight for me ...it seems all my shots of rginos are of them following or blocking the safari truck LOl

thats funny you pointed that out, as i looked at the picture again and noticed that yep it is a rhino but that rhino was out of place on the safari...he was in the enclosure by the hippos...now that i think about it i have never seen the rhino there before....i wonder if he went to the wrong location that morning...

as they are usually over by the lion area....later that night we saw them by the lion area again so now im curious what he was doing there.

I am really surprised, that we don't end up with some people wet by the end of the night. :rotfl2:

I guess all in all we are pretty well behaved. :rolleyes1

Great update- good for making rope drop and getting the safari done and having a snack too. :thumbsup2
well if you ever invite me to a pool party with yo uguys ill be sure to push you in the water.:thumbsup2

thanks, we were pleased with our plan that morning and not rushing to get there for the early opening.

My kids would tell you that the Safari is my favorite ride at that park. The tour you saw is a new thing they are doing, but all of the members of your party have to be at least 9 or 10 years old. I've got four years to go before all the members of my crew are ready...then we are totally walking the bridge over crocodiles! :cool1: It includes an african themed lunch overlooking the savanna and a zip line (I think).

I'm not all that outdoorsy or athletic - but it sounds like so much fun! (Did I mention that I like crocodiles?)

Dan, I'm amazed at how calm you and your wife are with your kids. They look so happy and relaxed in the photos you send and that says much to what kind of parents you are. Go you!
i heard a little about those tours they seem really cool, i hope you guys get to check it out when they get older. i did see the place that they stop for a meal it looked like it would be really cool. i think later in that day the girafes ended up getting pretty close to that food spot.

we try to stay calm with them doesnt always work but for the most part it does...thanks for noticing...i appreciate it.

It seems the lion was posing for pictures this October! I've been to AK 6 times and that was the first I ever saw him!
i have seen bits and pieces before but never a whole body, well at least a whole body standing up havent seen yet.

Whew, I don't think that would've gone over very well.

I'm sure it's a great advertisement for the tour, when people see them from the safari, "Hey, how'd those people get over there?"

Looking forward to it.
nope dont think that would have gone over well at all.

it worked for our group i did hear people asking others what it was and people pointing it out...seems like it would be a really fun tour.

Okay, once again trying to get all caught up.......... :guilty:

Looks like you guys had a great day at the water park!

then she wanted to stroll around and check out the toddlers/babies in the area.
DSC07412.jpg

right after this little off the shoulder strap checking out the other little boy i took her back to the hotel and locked her up.
DSC07415.jpg
It has only just begun Dad!!! :rolleyes1

most of the water cannons were too high for him to see where he was shooting so they were blind shots, he was trying to get candi here.
DSC07430.jpg
Sounds like a worthy goal!!! ;)

flirting, tube rides, and cannon shots over, it was time for some sharks.
no matter my convincing, i could not get anyone else to go with me so i was riding solo for this adventure.
Isn't that a little redundant?? Oh wait, you're not a lawyer........

on the way out i thought it was the perfect time for noelle to have her first mickey ice cream.

we opted for the sandwich instead of the mickey bar.
Sounds like a lot of first times for Noelle........

right across the way was once upon a toy...where we had to fill another box of potato head parts...
DSC04597.jpg

and of course i did not take a picture of my master piece....that sucker was slammed packed full of goodness.
Amazing all the different creative ways people use to get so much in one of those boxes!!!

dinner tonight would be dinning at T-Rex

DSC04600.jpg

when we planed this trip we knew how much parker loves dinos. so it would be perfect, all of his favorite animals would be here and he could eat with them, then make a dino to take home in the build a dino shop. perfect.:thumbsup2
I remember you texting me about this when it happened and telling me it didn't go anywhere near to what you and Candi had hoped..........but I had to wait for the TR to get details!!! :headache:

Good to finally get the story to go along with it! Sorry it wasn't a hit with Parker. I know you guys were disappointed but good that you got it together and ended up handling it so well! :thumbsup2

After we finished up our meal we still wanted to take parker to the build a dino, he was really looking forward to it. Since he knew his destination he had no trouble walking straight to the shop and checking out all the had to offer.

We looked over all the animals and despite the t-rex as his favorite, he chose a lovable friendly plant eater for the build a dino
At this point, better to be safe than sorry!!! ;)

Looks like this worked out great for Parker, and salvaged some of your special dinner plans. He looks like he really got into it and enjoyed the whole experience. :thumbsup2

i really liked there boxes here, they had room for the heads and tails to pop out of the box so they were not squished in to the little house.
DSC04626.jpg
How cute! So is there an age limit for people who get to build a Dino??? :rolleyes1

and here was a window on the side of world of disney i have never noticed before that had a great bathroom location just down the way that was nice and quite and good spot to stop.
DSC04630.jpg
I have seen that window before and really liked it........partly because I really like the movie Dumbo I guess, and that was such a special part of the movie!

and what better way to end the day with a ride back to the resort than to sit on your brothers head on that ride back to the resort.
I hope she didn't have another IASW event going on about this time.......... :rotfl2:

also busy tonight have an event im going to to raise more money for my st baldricks head shaving tonight. so hope to get my totals up there even more.
I hope the event went well and you collected a lot of good donations!!!

so please bare with me for a little bit.
What is this Disney thing you have going that makes you so interested in baring things??? :confused3 First you flash the bus at Fort Wilderness on the way to the bath house, now you are trying to get everyone to join in with you??? Sorry, I don't care how much you beg........just ain't happenin'....!! :sad2:

And you better be careful how you leave invitations so open like that! You know how Rosie is with all the pole dancing, and lap dancing, and torpedoing.......... You aren't Italian are you??? :rotfl:

Chapter 33. Where do we go from here.

Now what to do as the first attraction....Well with how much parker loves dinos, i figured we might as well ride Dinosaur first thing right.:confused3 Makes sense to me...i mean might as well continue to scare the carp (intentional sp mistake) out of him. So i drug him kicking and screaming onto the ride.

just kidding im not that stupid to pull that move.
Good call........but somehow I'm guessing Candi had to intervene. :rotfl2: I KNOW that she's not that stupid!!! After all, she is a Mother..........

i noticed a sign that basically says i nice disney terms if you drop your child over the side they will be eaten by the animals.
DSC04640_zps3500a463.jpg
Hmmm, maybe it's a good thing you didn't see that one while Parker was acting up at T-Rex......... ;)

after that first ride the kids well parker said they really wanted to go again so good thing i had that fast pass picked out.
Nice get on the FPs, and good to see Parker is having a good time again at Disney!!! :yay:

Dan, a short update is better than no update! Just ask Marv. :lmao:

I so agree Marv 's updates are soooo short I haven't seen them:rotfl2:

well done rosie, i have to say one of the funniest comments you have ever made.:lmao:
You three are just a riot!!! If I don't comment on all of your TRs as soon as you do an update I get fussed at for that, then when I sacrifice time I could devote to my TR so I can appease you all on your OWN threads, I get made fun of for not updating mine. I just can't win...........

Okay, well that's my story and I'm sticking to it.............

he had a blast not that you could tell from the pictures or anything.
How cute! So is there an age limit for people who get to build a Dino??? :rolleyes1
nope middle aged men can build as well, but try to contain your jumping up and down excitment when building one marv.
I have seen that window before and really liked it........partly because I really like the movie Dumbo I guess, and that was such a special part of the movie!
who would have thunk it you mister softy.:upsidedow

ill believe you this time, and look forward to your update in may.:thumbsup2

Good call not getting on Dinosaur. Although that might have made for some great pictures. Parker would disown you for life, but you'd at least have the pictures. :rotfl2:

I'm sure your DW is very happy you chose that particular moment at breakfast to snap the picture. :rotfl:

And good job finding the animatronic sleeping lion!:thumbsup2

Finally all caught up. I think in the next couple of years we are going to have to do a water park. It looks like so much fun. I don't know if my in laws are going to be willing to go with us to a water park when we take the little guy in April for his first birthday.

The family shots at TL are awesome! That is because there is ice cream involved!

When I was reading the report and you were going to T-Rex, I just knew where this was going. I have never been in there, but I knew that it was loud and I thought Noelle was going to have a hard time with it. But I am glad that Parker got to build his dino. That looked like a lot of fun.

Was Noelle able to go on the safari ride? I didn't know if there were any restrictions. When we go in April I was thinking if we should even hit up Animal Kingdom with an infant. What are your thoughts?

she sure was, she loved it, pointed out all the animals...we even took parker on it when he was 8 months old and he enjoyed it.

the rest of the park would depend on if you guys...it has been years since we have been on everest, and enjoy the safari many times during the day i thin we hit it up 4 times this day...and also the shows...

Real life intermission

I will start this chapter with a little side trip we took last weekend. We visited my BIL in chicago for the day and night saturday.

as we were sitting around his place talk went to the new show Chicago Fire and we looked up where it was filmed...just a rough mile or so from his place so we hopped in the car.

Here is the main drive they use in the show. It is an actual working station when they are not filming and still active when they are filming.

Another shot by the front door.
PART_1360455179016_zps81bad26f.jpg

we then went inside and talked with the real firemen for a while they showed us around the station.

All of the show that includes the fire bay is filmed here everything from the entrance to the kitchen and the offices and such is filmed at a warehouse in chicago.
we then went to dinner at the Chicago q restraunt that is owned by Lee Ann Whippen from BBQ pitmasters that aired last year, we enjoyed the food alot and even chatted with the owner towards the end of dinner.

After dinner we decided to live it up and go to the signature room on the 96th floor of the hancock tower the rest of my pictures from this room wont transfer from my phone right now so i just have this one that the flash really whited candi out but you still get the idea.

it really intensified that lipstick as well. :rotfl2:

You need to take that girl on a trip to Disney soon so she can work on getting a little sun............. :rotfl:

Looks like a fun trip! I haven't watched Chicago Fire yet. Not sure if it is because there is something else on that night, or if maybe that is one of the nights I don't get to watch much TV. Can't remember which night it is on..... :confused3

Seeing as it is Dinosaurs Marv, you would qualify:rotfl2:
