That crane is one that pours concrete. With a large concrete pool you would need one of these to get the concrete in the middle. Looks like they will have the pool done sooner rather than later. Would love to see a picture from an overlooking balcony.

Exciting progress. Fingers crossed for those of you with Spring break stays.

See, you learn something new everyday on the DIS!! I had no idea that a marina view could be under a "garden view". I don't honestly know what I thought, but I kind of thought marina would be under the water view. This is so good to know! :yay:

We haven't made any requests for a building...we're kind of leaving it to chance. The last time they put us in Big Pine Key w/ a view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and we could see the castle. It was spectacular!! :dance3: I have to admit, I'm getting WAY TOO EXCITED to sleep!! We're at the 3 1/2 month mark. And I can remember when my ticker was at 545 days!!!

I can't wait to stay at the Grand again. It's one of the most wonderful places ever!!! and just puts you right in the Disney mood!!!

Happy anticipation!:cheer2:

I know the feeling about being too excited to sleep before a vacation at the GF. My niece is now coming with us in July. She is 16 and has never stayed on property. She keeps telling my DD that she will not be able to sleep until she is at Disney with her cousins!

How wonderful for your niece. Won't you have fun introducing her to the Grand!? :grouphug:

Me too, who knew!!! I just put request in for either Sago or Conch marina view.

Does anyone know why they are re doing quiet pool? I hope it's not to make it shallow like they've been doing at the other resorts :( but I have a sinking feeling they are.

I'll be booking out first stay for November in a day or two. :goodvibes

Does anyone know if there is a place where you can see the Wedding Pavilion from the garden view rooms? I'm hoping we can see it from a room without upgrading.

Thank you!

If you can see the Wedding Pavilion, I'm pretty sure you'll also have a pretty clear (and maybe unwanted?) view of the DVC construction.

Thank you for the note, but it doesn't matter to me. We'll be there for our wedding, and I'm hoping by November the exterior of the building will be done. :)

This is how far they've gotten.. so by Nov.. I'm sure it should be enclosed...

Even before the DVC construction began, I don't think any garden view rooms had a view of the wedding pavilion?? Not sure. Take a look at the map on the first page and see what you think. It makes it appear that a few rooms in Sago Cay may have a peek between buildings but I'm not sure that's actually the case. The open space between the main building and Sugar Loaf is a bit smaller than it appears on the map it seems to me. In addition, that building is much farther than any other garden view option to the WP. Happy planning.

Thanks for the photo, Tink Rules. Getting closer! :cool1:

The only pics out there are on WDW News today...

& the only pic they have of the pool construction shows them pouring the concrete... which I imagine makes ya think it should be done soon... I hope... Mid march was mentioned as the due date...

That picture was taken last weekend or Monday afternoon. I bet the concrete work is completed and they are painting. :artist:

Too bad we don't have some one there to give us some intel :(

We'll know soon enough! :thumbsup2

They probably need to have it open before they close the other pool for maintenance during mid march...

At GFlo now. Really can't see too much progress from what is in the thread. Everyone here is saying March. What March means I'm not sure.

The roof on DVC is getting closer. No word on point sales yet.

Piano is playing in the lobby and you have to love GFlo. Headed to Gasperillas or a drink!

I've searched through quite a bit of this thread, but couldn't locate the answer - has there been any word on when GFV will be available for booking?

No word at all about booking VGF. The only thing we know is that DVC says it is scheduled to open late 2013. Stay tuned.:surfweb:

The license was granted at the end of January... but the link was taken down the same day... I guess Disney didn't want the secret out...lol :rolleyes1
