I don't know the answer to your question about the kids sandwich but according to this review of Beach Club Marketplace from last year (scroll about halfway down the review), sandwiches on the regular menu are made to order so you can leave things off that you don't want. I don't know if it's the same with the kids items, but I'm sure if you ask they can make it how you like.

Thank you so much for posting this!!!

Both in response to the original question and also because it has a lot of really useful info about the ingredients in a lot of the items. Very helpful for guests with food allergies or special diet needs.

The blog has links to places to find out all about the ingredients in the baked goods at the Marketplace (and other Disney places) and also lists a number of resources at Disney for families with specific food issues.

I'll link this to the first page as well as to the Marketplace threads we have.

Thanks, again!!!

A question then??!! Do most people opt not to do the dining plan when staying club level?

We are staying CL this year and have decided not to do the dining plan. Last time at Club Level, we found it to be too much food along with the offerings of the lounge. We had the regular plan with one sit down and one counter service. Also found the our day was always rotating around eating. Got really tired of all of the desserts- can't believe I am saying that but sometimes would have preferred an appetizer instead. Found it hard to get it all in without feeling like we were leaving credits on the table - yes, you can go to the Marketplace and use up the snack credits for the trip home, but we really didn't need all that food.

We did a mock menu to see what the $$$ would be. Granted can't predict what we actually will eat but compared it to our habits from the last trip. It looks like it will be about $500 less for our family of 5. I picture us just going over to EPCOT and having counter service when we feel motivated. Made 3 dinner ADRs for our favs. Also, some of the portions are large and I could easily split with hubby, especially when it's hot and no one has a big appetite.

If you priced it out with ordering everything that comes with the dining plan, the dining plan is probably cheaper. But again for us, we wouldn't normally order everything that comes with the plan, so that is where our savings comes in.

We love the aspect of grabbing breakfast and going. Also the snacks are plentiful and met all 5 of our needs.

I am in the same boat! We did Club Level at the WL this past Nov and had gotten Free Dining..I felt like we ate so much that trip!!!! Even if we don't have club level, I am not going to do DDP this trip...my dd will be 10 this year and she can't eat(nor does she need to) that much food...and some times I just want a soup and salad! No entree, no dessert...and several of the entrees we can split! I did figure up what it would be OOP last year, and it was pretty close, and since the DDP was free, we took it. I am reaaaaaally hoping they come out with a room discount for us this time and we will just plan ahead and pay cash for meals/tips....

We are doing the same thing. CL and no DP. We did DP with WL CL, and there was no room for all of that food...

I think this way is going to be way better for us, and more how we'd actually eat.

Somebody asked about the oatmeal not too long ago and it made me wonder as well- this page that was just listed to answer the turkey sandwich question has this page: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/food-ingredient-lists-beach-club-marketplace/
which among other things, shows the oatmeal ingredients. It doesn't have dairy- but contains some things I really wouldn't expect, such as eggs.
That was me! I see the oatmeal does have dairy, though (whey). Bummer. I didn't expect it to have 30 or so ingredients. Silly me, I thought it would be oats and either water or milk. Thanks so much for pointing out this link, and thank you saquin for posting the original link! It will come in handy. :goodvibes

Wow, I could have written this! On our last visit, we did the dining plan and liked it, although with app and dessert (back then) it was a lot of food! This trip we are doing CL and decided not to do dining plan because it is only dessert. We don't want dessert at every meal and DH prefers salad with his dinner to dessert. I did a mocked up meal plan and we save quite a bit in the abstract. We also have plans for a couple of dinners that would be 2 credits, which factored in as well.

ok my computer is not playing fair today and keeps messing up (it keeps losing my posts so I'm giving it a last go):confused3
I was wondering (after reading MickeyT, Dee and NinjaMoms reviews of DP) just how easy is it to "split" an entree at a tableservice restaurant? I see lots of people mention doing it but I was wondering if restaurants frown upon it or is it a common request?

We do this often!! Either myself and DD or DH and DD. that way we can either enjoy and app or dessert and not feel so stuffed. There are WAY too many "treats" around the parks that I want to sample, and if we each eat a large meal, it's impossible.

I have never had a problem at any restaurant when asking to do this.

Enjoy!!!

How old is your DD? Mine will be 8 when we go and as of now, she is not a big eater. We call her our little birdie, but my DS (who will be 11) is a good eater but also has more expensive taste (steak, lobster, the good stuff). Plus, my son and I both enjoy dessert after our meals. But, I'm thinking of taking the advice and doing a mock meal plan and pricing it out. This should not be so stressful, but when given too many choices, my brain can't seem to quit and then I stress out!! But, that's why I love it here, everyone has good ideas, advice, and whatnots!!!

Glad to see I am not the only one who did a mock meal plan - I will now refer to it as the MMP:) lol - I came out significantly better paying OOP. My two younger kids are barely "adults" according to Disney. Yet there is no way they will eat that much food.

My DS11 is especially finicky. We had to scour TS menus to find a couple of places to try. He also loves turkey sandwiches, so thanks to those who posted the info on the BCMarketplace! I have a feeling we may grab a sandwich there, and head off to the parks. I just can't see paying adult meal prices for him. And DD10 still eats like a birdy.

DH says he really wants to keep our food receipts this time, just to see how it works out, kinda like a game. hehe.

I did a MMP before our trip in 2011 and found that the only reason the dining plan was a slightly better deal for us is the kids pricing for four of our five kids (baby didn't need a plan..lol). Once the become adults the meal plan will end ip costing much more than OOP.

The mock up took me forever when I started factoring in not only the meal but the drinks n apps too...lol. Unless the dining plan changes I have a feeling most families will opt out...

You may want to check out Tables in Wonderland too. Lots of guests use that and find it saves them considerable money when they decide to go without the dining plans.
