Awesome pics!! We are staying in room 12024 in April and we can't wait!! Any idea who the concierge hosts will be then? We had Julia and Kemisha last year, plus PJ. Loved them all. So attentive. We were in 12004 last May and we are excited to move up to a one bedroom pixiedust: Excited to see more of your report :)

Thank you! I think your hosts will be Julia, kemisha and Alice for the eastern Caribbean itinerary. All three are fabulous! We grew quite attached...especially my daughter.

I have followed your dining reports and also saw the pictures on Barb's thread. Your daughter is an absolute doll. I love the pics of your feet in the bathtub.. Cannot wait to read more!

Might actually be Julia, Kemisha, & PJ. PJ is supposed to be back by March 23rd.

before i post the nice surprise left for us by concierge, here is a picture from our balcony while we were in port canaveral. our room was port side.

making herself at home.

our balcony was very long and there were 2 sun loungers which would be laid out in varying positions as well as 2 chairs and one table. there was plenty of room on this balcony. we spent a lot of time out here. it was wonderful.

we found a lovely fruit basket awaiting us on the dining room table.

IMG_5777_zps00ad0c47.jpg

hooray, fresh fruit!!

IMG_5776_zps8e4251c1.jpg

the bow even had the cruise logo on it. i loved it!

...there was also, this:

i'm going to end this post with the most awesome surprise given to us by concierge.

photo6_zps1089118e.jpg

this is a lithograph given to us by concierge. it is 1 of 2500 created by don williams. i asked if the characters could sign it for my daughter so i could frame it. she stated it may be too late but they would try. lo and behold, on our last night, the lithograh was delivered to us & signed by every character on board. it's absolutely beautiful and i definitely felt the pixie dust!

i will post more pictures from our first day on board the fantasy but now i have a date with some nyquil.

pixiedust:

Oh man I wish I would have thought of having the litho autographed! We did a B2B so we got 2 and that would have been cool!

i felt guilty asking if they could do this since they were so gracious for the entire duration of our trip but they were more than happy to accommodate us. i could not believe that they actually were able to get all the signatures in such a short amount of time. i will be forever grateful to the three of them for being such amazing hosts. they really REALLY helped make our vacation all the more magical.

SAILING AWAY!

IMG_5831_zps387f0a0a.jpg

after exploring our room & unpacking, it was time for the sailing away party. we stayed on deck 12 and we were looking down onto deck 11 where the party was being held. it was a very festive party but i didn't want to make my way down to deck 11 to get a closer view as it was a bit crowded.

IMG_5837-2_zpsaa1c2e5a.jpg

we stayed for a few minutes but it was getting pretty windy on deck 12. i was getting pretty hungry & wanted to check out the afternoon snack options at the concierge lounge.

but first, a few random shots on our way back to our room.

IMG_5840_zps6ae7dd2f.jpg

IMG_5839_zps9bb092b7.jpg

poor donald.

i wanted to try out the epic coffee machine. it's rumored to have cost $10,000 (or so the internet says) but nonetheless, it made outstanding cafe latte's and whatever your heart desires in a matter of seconds. the captain made frequent visits to the lounge just for coffee. i love that thing.

epic coffee machine!!

here are some of the afternoon offerings. the food at the lounge changes daily and the ever awesome KWAN was very helpful in the lounge. she was one of my favorite cast members on board. i'll post a picture of emme & kwan during the birthday post. but she was incredible.

IMG_5844-2_zps3910e5c3.jpg

assorted fruits, cheeses, shrimp & lettuce wraps & marinated mushrooms. YUM!

IMG_5846_zps12c96375.jpg

IMG_5848-2_zpse38c5d61.jpg

so i headed back to my room to enjoy my afternoon snack while sitting on the balcony.

IMG_5850_zpsf672213e.jpg

grey goose vodka + soda water + lime.

IMG_5849_zps8926c1eb.jpg

plate full of yummyness.

IMG_5852_zpsc506987a.jpg

more delicious cheese.

...and here's my view

i'm going to end my post with pictures from the tv in the bathroom mirror. when you turn on the tv, a really cute message appears with tinkerbell.

up next, our first dinner at animator's palate!

updated 2/9/13

DINNER @ ANIMATOR'S PALATE

IMG_5890-2_zps4fba6cb5.jpg

our dining rotation was AERAERA & we had second seating which is 8:15. we arrived at about 8:10 & there was a line to get inside. our table number was 74. another perk of concierge is that your family gets to sit at their own table, which i thought was nice.

IMG_5897-2_zpsd6c79fb5.jpg

animator's palate was located on the 3rd floor, aft. it was pretty rocky this night and i felt slightly queasy. upon entering the dining area, a cm hands every single person a hand sanitizing wipe. they did this before every dining opportunity minus when we had brunch at palo.

we were shown our table which was close to the large projection screens (they are all over the place) but directly in front of the area where the cm's place drinks, food etc. it was a really busy area but we didn't mind because we ate quickly this evening as the rocking of the boat was really getting to me. i wish i had taken a bonine earlier!

our servers were mr. o'neil from jamaica and his assistant was mr. ninja. (yes ninja). they were both very efficient and very nice. i don't know how they manage to serve all the tables & get the orders right but they did.

IMG_5962-2_zps19809143.jpg

loved the chair!

...now to the fun stuff.

IMG_5902-2_zpsd8703f62.jpg

menu!

we ate at AP three times & each time there is a different menu for the night. on the 3rd night (which is the animation night), there is a picture of sorcerer mickey which moves.

every meal in the main dining rooms came with a bread service & a special spread in addition to butter & whipped butter.

IMG_5903-2_zps7686199c.jpg

IMG_5904-2_zps765555b2.jpg

IMG_5906-2_zps9a86a0e1.jpg

such a cute butter knife!
tip: you can buy these knives in the gift shops to take home with you.

and for our appetizers, we had:

IMG_5921-2_zps0def81c5.jpg

Black Truffle Pasta Pursettes - pasta purse filled with truffle scented cheese and coated with a delicate champagne sauce

this appetizer was recommended by our server. it was ok. it didn't blow me away or wow me. but out of the three that we ordered, it definitely was the best.

IMG_5922-2_zps0d45bbb7.jpg

Wild Mushroom Risotto and Porcini Twist - served with Parmigiano-Reggiano

this tasted as bad as it looks. it didn't look pretty & i found it to be pretty bland. i didn't get much mushroom flavor despite appearing as if there were a ton of mushrooms in this. overall, unappetizing.

IMG_5928-2_zpsb353eddd.jpg

Sesame-flavored Rock Shrimp and Caramelized Onion Cheesecake - with Asian barbecue sauce and topped with micro greens

this item really intrigued me when i saw it on the menu. unfortunately, it did not deliver. it lacked flavor. a lot of the food on the ship was underseasoned and bland. the texture of the cheesecake reminded me of cold quiche. i didn't get much sesame flavor from it. i gave it three bites and was done with it.

so far, we were disappointed in the meal.

the lights dimmed during appetizer service & our friend crush appears!

IMG_5919-2_zps3dac4d14.jpg

IMG_5910-2_zpsd5b517e9.jpg

emme had no idea what was going on!

crush was pretty cool as he would communicate with different people in the dining area. it really took people off guard and one little guy ducked under the table as crush was talking to him. overall, great entertainment!

IMG_5917-2_zps302b2ee8.jpg

emme was really amused by crush as were all the kids.

our entrees arrived pretty quickly.

IMG_5925-2_zps3b825ad3.jpg

the kids meal.

IMG_5931-2_zpsa00bd728.jpg

Grilled Pacific Black Cod: With sautéed Morel Mushrooms on a Sweet Potato Purée

this was what my mom ordered. my mom loves seafood & wanted to try this. this fish was actually good but kind of dry. we always ordered a fish entree and for the most part, the fish was really fishy but on this night, this cod was tasty for the most part.

IMG_5932-2_zps149c55a5.jpg

Marinated Angus Beef Tenderloin carved to order on wasabi mashed potatoes with bok choy and a tamarind-barbecue reduction

this was my entree. the tenderloin was tender and the mashed potatoes didn't have much wasabi in it but was good. there wasn't much bok choy on the plate and i thought the carrots were cute. after the disappointing appetizers, AP redeemed itself with a tasty entree.

now to dessert (emme's favorite part of any meal).

IMG_5933-2_zps2ffff0e2.jpg

Vanilla ice cream with mickey sprinkles

my daughter is pretty simple in her needs for dessert. vanilla ice cream & sprinkles is the perfect dessert for her. and she enjoyed every last bite of it! mr. o'neil was really accommodating when we ordered this. i was very thankful.

IMG_5949-2_zps031e92d4.jpg

IMG_5951-2_zpse498ef52.jpg

i'm not much of a dessert fan but was very curious with this:

IMG_5937-2_zps470c1ece.jpg

No sugar added: Citrus Lemon Mousse With Mango Coulis

the mousse was more like a very airy & light cake. it wasn't overly sweet & i really enjoyed it. two thumbs up!

overall, our first meal in rotational dining was a good experience. the dining room was very very busy. i did request any kind of hot sauce (minus tobasco, texas pete etc) with our meals. they did not have sriracha on board but they did have sambal. with our other meals, they made sure we had a bowl of sambal at our table. it was very thoughtful.

the appetizers were somewhat disappointing but the entrees were good (minus the semi-dry cod). the atmosphere was great but the rocking of the boat made me queasy. our servers were amazing & we had a great experience.

after we left animator's palate, we ran into some friends.

IMG_5971-2_zps514d64a2.jpg

IMG_5984-2_zpse3026ff0.jpg

IMG_5978-2_zps8b8eb8f2.jpg

tiana & emme.

we have never met tiana at disney world. when she's out and about, the lines are tremendous & i just don't have the patience to wait. but tiana was out in the lobby atrium right as we were exiting dinner. perfect timing! she looked beautiful in her dress. out of all the character pictures we had taken, tiana took the most time with the children. it was very heart warming to see the faces of these little girls light up.

IMG_5990-2_zps534031ae.jpg

goofy!!

IMG_6002-2_zps0e81a490.jpg

sleeping beauty.

thank you for the compliments! concierge definitely spoiled us! i can't wait to return again but next time, it won't be the one bedroom suite since it will just be me & emme.

thank you!! the 1 bedroom was tremendous. it was so much space but we used the space well. it was really nice to have all that space as we did spend a lot of time in our rooms to just relax. we had a great view & a jacuzzi tub...can't beat it! :thumbsup2

thank you so much! julia & kemisha are wonderful. alice was also super great. they excelled in customer service & were such assets on our vacation. they really made our entire family feel super special.

one last picture of the day...

*drumroll*

photo14_zps559155c7.jpg

i received my costco cash card in the mail today!! :yay: i booked the disney trip using costco travel and received a $710 costco cash card just by booking with them. this definitely beat the obc offered by travel agencies as well as the $25 offered by disney. what a fantastic way to end my day.

now time for some nyquil induced sleep. i'm going to beat this cold!

and here's a teaser picture for my next few postings about emme's 3rd birthday spectacular while on board the fantasy!

happy 3rd birthday emmebear!! :lovestruc

Great trip report! Your daughter is adorable!!! I was surprised that you said that concierge cruisers get their own table for dinner. When we cruised last year, we did have our own table (74!) but we thought we just got lucky!! That is pretty cool. I feel kind of antisocial but I must admit I was pretty excited to just sit with my husband. Now that I think about it, the only time we shared a table with another family was our first cruise, when we didn't use concierge....After that, our family always had our own table. Wow, how did I not know that?? LOL

what a beautiful family, your daughter is adorable! love all your pics only problem is now after seeing them I REALLY want to do a 1 bedroom. We are booked on the fantasy in a few weeks and was thinking of rebooking onboard for 2014 better plan on having a stash of cash on the credit card to book this one!:worried::confused3:lmao::scared1::rolleyes1:banana:

i had asked for our own table because i figured no one really wants to socialize with a 3 year old at second seating & the on shore concierge team let me know that we would be at our table. it worked out great for us because there were moments where we were all anti-social, especially after port days! :rotfl:

thank you for the nice words about my family! the one bedroom was awesome! by no means is it cheap but it was well worth it in my opinion. so much room & very comfortable.
